The Meaning of The Ladybug in BPD?

The ladybug has been deemed a symbol of hope by NEA BPD but I'm not sure why this insect was chosen.
There's gotta be a story behind it and I will keep an eye out for it. Till then, show your support for those with BPD by wearing a ladybug pin. There are some really cute ones on Etsy.

Edit: I found a postcard from NEA.BPD (the National Education Alliance on Borderline Personality Disorder) that explains the following:

Many cultures believe that a Ladybug is a sign of good fortune--and so we have adopted this cheerful, colorful symbol for NEA.BPD.
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a serious and often life-threatening disorder that is characterized by severe emotional pain and
difficulties managing emotions.

The mission of the National Education Alliance on Borderline Personality Disorder is to raise public awareness, provide education, promote research on borderline personality disorder, and enhance the quality of life of those bravely dealing with this serious mental illness.
