DBTech VET Project

DBTech VET Project links VET and HE education together with working life in order to meet better the needs of labour market

DBTech VET project is a Transfer Of Innovation project funded by European Commission.
The innovation to be transferred consists of the results of the previous DBTechNet network's LLP projects. DBTech VET project introduces the topics of SQL transactions and concurrency control.

The project outcomes include the course module on SQL transactions with content materials in Web and downloadable virtual database lab for hands-on exercises, training course material for teachers on pedagogy and use of the course module. All materials will be available in Web in English and in national languages of the project partners, and available for translations to other languages.

The primary target groups of the project are VET teachers on application development, HE teachers and database professionals in ICT industry participating on the SQL transaction training courses. Secondary target groups include students on courses where the SQL transactions will be taught, and finally application developers in the ICT industry when students enter the working life.

DBTech VET Teachers project starts 10/2012 and ends 9/2014. The participating countries are Finland, Estonia, Greece and Spain. The consortium consists of 17 partners that represent VET and HE institutes, industrial organizations and pedagogical institutes.

The aim of Leonardo da Vinci Multilateral Projects "Transfer of Innovation" is to improve the quality and attractiveness of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in the participating countries by transferring existing innovations to new legal, systemic, sector, linguistic, socio-cultural and geographic environments through working with transnational partners. Innovation transfer projects generate synergies by exploiting existing VET innovations (no "re-inventing the wheel").

This project has been funded with support from the European Commission LLP programme Leonardo da Vinci. In Finland the Centre for International Mobility (CIMO) is responsible for the management of Lifelong Learning Programmes.
