Welcome to the Project Work Space

Thank you for volunteering to serve on the Dutchess BOCES Schools Computer Education Project. This site will begin its life as a project-management space with access limited to Project members and Dutchess County school district administrators. As the Project progresses, this site will take its final form as an instructional resource for all Dutchess County teachers and administrators.

This work space contains areas for Project members to post content including text, documents, images, video, etc.; post comments and conduct discussions; and track the progress of the Project though the a calendar, recent announcements, and recent items sections.

We will conduct the majority the Project's work asynchronously through this web site. Meetings will be held virtually using Adobe Connect or Google Hangouts; face-to-face meetings will be held only when necessary.

Project Goals

Curriculum Framework
The primary goal of the Project is to provide Dutchess County's teachers with a curriculum framework which outlines P-12 instructional technology standards, including what students should know and be able to do at each grade level with a range of instructional technology tools, i.e., systems, devices, and applications.

Instructional Resources
In addition, instructional materials and resources will be created, gathered, and made available to Dutchess County teachers so that they are better prepared to:
  • Integrate technology tools into all subject areas.
  • Connect technology applications to Common Core Learning Standards.
  • Develop computer literacy in all students.
Professional Development
Finally, an ongoing program of differentiated professional development for instructional technology will be developed and implemented across Dutchess County. Training topics will directly connect with the curriculum framework, utilize the associated instructional resources, and range from developing teachers' basic computer skills to implementing technology-integrated lesson plans.

The Project will draw its content and materials from state, national, and international agencies and educational institutions, as well as from teacher-generated and teacher-tested materials and projects.
