Using Google tools to transform the writing process in your classroom. In this session, participants will walk through the entire writing process of pre-writing, drafting, editing, revising, and publishing all with Google Apps.

The Writing Process

1. PREWRITING

Prewriting is the first stage of the writing process. Elements of prewriting may include planning, research, outlining, diagramming, storyboarding or mindmapping.

2. DRAFTING

Drafting is the preliminary stage of a written work in which the author begins to develop a more cohesive product. A draft document is the product the writer creates in the initial stages of the writing process.

3. REVISING & EDITING

Revision is the stage in the writing process where the author reviews, alters, and amends her or his message, according to what has been written in the draft. Editing is the reading of the writing in order to detect and correct errors.

4. PUBLISHING

Publishing is the process of production and dissemination of information — the activity of making information available to the general public.
