Night Force Doctrine Pt. 1

The restated Night Force Doctrine of 1944 did not substantially vary from that promulgated pre-war after numerous exercises as described in Mark Peattie's Kaigun, at pp. 273-281. In fact the only substantial change in the large scale attack plan found on those pages and the last permutation is the substitution of certain units that had either been lost or assigned different duties. There are other plans with reduced forces, but the spirit is the same.
