I study how brains decide where to look.
This research is important for understanding basic ocular motor function. Many neurological disorders can be diagnosed and characterized by ocular motor dysfunction. By studying the oculomotor system, I am also able to gain traction on topics such as decision making, attention, and error monitoring in a simplified model.

Mechanics:  How are fast, accurate eye movements generated?
Control:  How are eye movements monitored and tuned to achieve high levels of performance?
