I am a Postdoctoral Lecturer in International Relations at the University of Pennsylvania. I received my PhD from the Department of Political Science at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in December 2017.
I conduct research on civil wars, civil-military relations, territorial conflict, international law, human rights, and the economic consequences of conflict. My dissertation addresses the question of why some civil wars are contested by a single, coherent rebel group, while others feature a more fragmented opposition.
My teaching interests include civil and international conflict, conflict management, international institutions, and research methods.
