A multi-shot .22 cal CO2 airpistol.
The original design was by the Schimel Arms Co. They were only in business from
1952 - 54. The tooling was aquired by American Weapons Corp. (Hy Hunter)
The Schimel with a redesigned seal and multi-shot magazine
was given the name "American Luger". 22 cal shot and 8 gram CO2
cartridges were produced with the "American Luger" name.
The Luger trademark was owned by Stoeger Arms which forced them to stop
using the Luger name. Later the same pistol was advertised as the "CarboJet".
All examples of both American Luger and CarboJet were sold from 1956 - 58.
