My role at LB Foster is Senior Draughtsman, where my primary responsibity is the management of 2D & 3D design data and its subsequent interfacing systems. As part of my role, I lead the team and act as the global lead for both the PDM and ERP/MRP software.

I have led large projects and integrated several sites within the LB Foster umbrella.

I am

I currently work at Laing O'rourke, the UK's largest priviately owned construction company, where I work as a CAD engineer. In my role I work on the bespoke detailing team where I use my advanced CAD knowledge to design complex precast concrete items.

Previously I worked as an Engineer for a bespoke Joinery and Metal manufacturer. I was responsible for taking the concept designs and working them through into full working designs, and programming any CNC elements which are required (using Alphacam.)

I have also worked as a Proposals Engineer, where my key responsibilities involved design of new projects, setting up company 3D Cad standards, drawing up all designs and issuing designs for manufacture.

I was a Graduate of Computer Aided Design and Technology course at Sheffield Hallam. This course was designed in conjunction with companies including PTC, Rolls Royce and organisations such as SEMTA (Sector Skills Council for Science Engineering and Manufacturing Technology). This ensured that it meets the needs of industry.

This course has provided me with a high-level of advanced CAD skills, and made me a specialist in this field.

Not only did I receive a degree in Computer Aided design and Technology, but I will also was accredited with a Pro Efficiency certificate of competence. This is a set of exams set by Pro Engineer used to test the knowledge and skill of any of its operatives. As this course was created in partnership with PTC, the Pro Efficiency exams were taken.

I have also worked in the industrial sector, at Siemens VAI where I was asked to redesign and evaluate a hot metal roller assembly. This was a complex project which required a complete assembly for the whole production line being created, as the company were migrating from 2D to full 3D catalogues.
Whilst at VAI, I received full training in Solid Edge and I have used this knowledge to transfer my skills to the other major CAD packages
