A little bit about myself

Hey there! Thanks for visiting my website.

My name is Dasaraden Mauree and I am originally from a little island of about 1800km2 in the South West Indian Ocean called Mauritius.  Mauritius was a former French and British colony until it became independent in 1968 and a republic in 1992. It is a melting point of different cultures and populations coming from various countries essentially from Africa and Asia. We hence have an amazing variety of authentic cuisine with very tasty pastries and dishes.

I live in Lausanne, Switzerland after having spent a certain number of years in Strasbourg, a city in the eastern part of France. Strasbourg is a city full of history being at the border of Germany and France. Wonderful architecture, the capital of Europe with the European Parliament, one of the major towns in France for cyclist and also very famous for its Christmas Market. The Alsace region is also very well-known for its amazing food (choucroute, tarte flambée) and fine white wines (Riesling, Sylvaner, Gewurtztraminer, Crémant...). Now time to discover the wonderful landscape of Switzerland and to learn how to ski!

I completed my PhD. in Earth and Univers Sciences at the Université de Strasbourg in March 2014. I worked at the Laboratoire Image Ville Environnement a joint laboratory between the Centre National de Recherche Scientifique and the Université de Strasbourg. I am now a Research Fellow at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in the Solar Energy and Building Physics Laboratory (LESO-PB). You can find more information on my work in the research tab. I am also the Vice-President of the PhD. Student and Alumni Association of ADEME.
