Darko Anicic is a research scientist at Siemens AG, Corporate Technology. He conducts research in the areas of Internet of Things, Web of Things in Automation Systems, Semantic Web Technologies applied to constrained devices, Complex Event Processing and rule-based reasoning over streaming data. Previously he held a senior research position at FZI Research Center for Information Technology-Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) where he received his PhD and was developing ETALIS - Event-driven Transaction Logic Inference System. ETALIS is a rule-based engine for event processing and stream reasoning. He was also a researcher at STI Innsbruck at the University of Innsbruck where he was leading the development of IRIS - the Integrated Rule Inference System - an open source rule-based reasoner.
