Dark Conspiracy - London

Shapes that rip and tear.
Shadows that live in corners.
Windows into space and time that lead to realms of madness and decay.
A dark, lurking horror that feeds off the echoing anguish of a billion tortured souls.

The sun "has" set on the British Empire and in the shadows cast by its passing, lurk dark creatures of legend.
Creatures that prey upon the inhabitants of the
United Kingdom and indeed, the entire world.

DARK CONSPIRACY is not just a game of dark intent, malevolent creatures & conspiracies, it's also about the people who have been harmed by contact with the Dark and have decided to 'gear up & fight back'.

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,

Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

Hamlet Act 1, scene 5, 159–167

Unfortunately, some of those things have come to rest in London and everything you've ever heard about "monsters", well, it's true. But not the way you think.

This site is intended to serve as a support vehicle for a Dark Conspiracy campaign set in a fictional London in the near future of 2020
The site will host information, images etc. etc. to benefit the Players and will be updated as necessary to support the campaign. A number of people involved in various role playing games have been directly or indirectly influential on my vision of DC-London, for example Lee Williams' Dark Britain milieu (as found in the Demonground e-zine) has had a direct influence on such aspects as language, society and corporations. A few sites supporting
R. Talsorian's Cyberpunk have also had direct influence such as Xechon's Cyberpunk 2035 site at http://www.romanorum.net/cyberpunk/index.html

While Dark Conspiracy is most definitely a 'monster hunt' game with the Player Characters becoming 'monster hunters', I favour a darker, rougher world over the cinematic/heroic style. I favour shades of grey over black & white and a world closer to the bleak setting of the cyberpunk genre, my additions to the game, the rules etc. etc. are designed to support that.
I'm also using the GDW Twilight: 2000 Version 2.2 rulebook for the game rules rather than the 1st edition DC rules. This updates the rules from a D10 to a D20 and gives a greater range of Difficulties for task resolution and is entirely compatible with Traveller: The New Era and
Dark Conspiracy 2nd Edition.
You can buy the Twilight: 2000 Version 2.2 rules here or the entire collection of Version 2.2 material here, Far Future Enterprises and for those of you who don't know of it, check out Twilight Nightmares, the closest thing to a Dark Conspiracy beta test I can think of!

Note that Google Sites offers the use of sub-pages and many of the categories on this site make extensive use of that feature. Always check the bottom of the page (but above the Comments section) you are on for links to any possible sub-pages.
The ability to add comments is reserved for members of the site, membership is by invite only and is currently restricted to people in the game group and some friends doing proofreading & reviewing of the site  for me.
The lefthand sidebar has the main navigation links including a Sitemap link.
It's present on every page.

The Legal Bit

The Dark Conspiracy, Cadillacs And Dinosaurs, Twilight: 2000, Merc: 2000 and Traveller RPGs, were the products of Game Designers' Workshop AKA GDW. Rights to these games have passed to Far Future Enterprises http://www.farfuture.net/ and any mention of these games is not intended as a challenge to those rights.
Mention of any other game system or setting such as Justin Schmid's Night's Edge Alternate Reality Universe for R. Talsorian's Cyberpunk, should similarly not be seen as a challenge to the rights of the IP holders.

A note about Fonts.
This site uses two fonts associated with the Dark Conspiracy game, Architectura (used for the headers in the main rulesbook) and Goodbye Cruel World (used for the title of the Demonground e-zine)
If these two fonts are not installed on your computer, some titles on the Google Sites pages will not be displayed in the manner I intended (the words will display in the sites standard font).  I haven't used them extensively so you're not missing out on a lot if you don't have those fonts :-P
A link to and image of, the fonts appear below.

To install fonts, unzip the file into a temporary location (such as Desktop).

Go to Control Panel. Click on your Start button and select Settings > Control Panel (or Open My Computer then Control Panel). For Windows Vista, do the above then open the Appearance and Personalization tab.

Go to your Fonts folder. Open (Doubleclick) the Fonts folder.

Drag the font to be installed from the temporary location and drop it into your Fonts folder (or alternately, use Cut & Paste).

This site is best viewed in fullscreen mode (and widescreen if you've got it) with high resolutions. Smaller windows and low resolutions can cause some of the sites images to overlap as GoogleSites doesn't seem to like shrinking and prefers 'squashing' :-P
