30 April 2015 - A few new items to add:
  • Two new articles on Gamasutra, both about the art and craft of game design and culture:
  • I have finished editing my next novel, Adventure! and I put the final touches on a new full-length play, Deadbug. More news about these as they develop.
  • Still working on a secret title for Ubisoft Montreal. Check back in 2028 for more info. Maybe earlier.

  • I wrote a new article for Gamasutra called "Reality Bytes: Pondering the Purpose of Realism."

5 September 2013 - It's been a long time between updates! A ton of new things to report.
  • Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag will be out soon. I'm the Lead writer. It's the biggst game I have ever worked on. It's the best game I have ever worked on. Look for it on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Wi U and PC this holiday season.
  • Technoir Classics is the name of an album I recorded and released last year.
  • Are Gam(er)s Artist(s)? is a long-form article I wrote on the tricky intersection of video games and narratives, and my belief that game systems are getting less critical attention than narrative systems. Published in Gamasutra.
