'By the pricking of my thumbs, Something wicked this way comes.'
In this my second attempt to place Shakespeare's witches in a modern setting, I'd already painted the mobile phone before I spotted the delightful appropriateness of the words spoken by the second 'weird sister'.
Just whose approach she foretells (the police? the scrap dealer? Macbeth himself?) I leave, as always, to the imagination of the viewer.
Meanwhile have you ever seen such a cosy gathering inside an abandoned heap of wreckage? They still look like they're having fun, but I reckon there's mischief afoot here....
All paintings are in acrylic on canvas (mounted on a rigid support) and framed. This artwork is also available as a limited edition canvas print.
