About Me

I am an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio. I attended the University of Oregon, in Eugene, Oregon, where I received bachelor's degrees in both philosophy and religious studies (in 2006); from there, I went on to receive a Ph.D in philosophy at Baylor University in Waco, Texas (in 2011).

I am married (to Sarah Johnson) and we have one child, Robert. I enjoy the occasional game of pick-up basketball, and I harbor an unfortunate attachment to fantasy football, mainly because I have managed to deceive myself into thinking that I have something to do with the outcome.

I have many interests in philosophy and theology: check out my Research and Writing page for a description of my research and links to my essays. I'm always up for an e-mail discussion, so please feel free to contact me if you have questions, comments, or knock-down objections (though only one of those per week, please; I can only handle so much). If you are working on or thinking about some of the same issues that I am, drop me a line and we can get acquainted.
