About Sean

Sean Dubs was born and raised in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. At the age of 10, he began his dance training and later joined Cumberland Dance Company, now Pennsylvania Regional Ballet, in 2003. As a member of the company, he participated and performed in Regional Dance America's regional and national festivals, and was awarded a scholarship in the 2006 festival. With Pennsylvania Regional Ballet in the summer of 2006, he took part in a cultural exchange and performance tour in Germany. From 2007 to 2009, Sean trained in The School of Toronto Dance Theatre's professional training program. While at the school, he was in works by Paul-Andre Fortier, Allen Kaeja, Louis Laberge-Cote, Sharon Moore, Julia Sasso, Heidi Strauss, and Darryl Tracy. He also produced two, and choreographed three works for student-run productions.
During his training in Toronto, Sean danced as a company member of Desiraeda Dance Theatre in Toronto's 2008 Fringe Festival. He also performed in Eroca Nicol's Bravo!FACT Short Film Ah! Mes Synchronettes!, and in Nicol's The In Crowd as a part of her summer community dance event Dance In My Backyard.

Sean began taking Ashtanga yoga classes from his first and favorite yogi, his mother while he was in high school. During his studies in toronto, he maintained his own yoga practice and eventually began teaching Ashtanga yoga classes at The Marriot in downtown Toronto to student residents and his fellow classmates. He enjoys the power, strength, grounding, and unparalleled warmth and invigaration that Ashtanga yoga offers; and he looks forward to exploring it further as a teacher and a student.
