From our branch office in Umatilla, Oregon; Dana Engineering led the Dana Mission Support Team's redevelopment planning efforts at the Umatilla Chemical Depot. We assisted with the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission (BRAC) required planning and assessments as dictated by the Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA) that facilitates transition of the Army base ownership from Federal to local.
The Defense Base Realignment and Closure process requires that a plan be developed that considers all of the assets and infrastructure on the land before a property transfer can take place. The Dana Mission Support Team assisted a broad-scale analysis of the assets of Umatilla and Morrow Counties in planning for the future re-use of the land.
The Dana Mission Support Team is comprised of experts in engineering, environmental analysis, and social and economic development planning. The Dana Mission Support Team is pleased to serve as a conduit for information from the communities surrounding the Umatilla Chemical Depot to the Local Re-use Authority.
Dana Mission Support Team reported directly to the Umatilla Army Depot Reuse Authority as their support contractor. The Umatilla Army Depot Reuse Authority or "Local Re-use Authority" (LRA) worked with the Army, U.S. senator, and congressman, to determine the fate of the property after the demilitarization and decommissioning was completed.
