One of the toughest road climbs you will make in West Virginia. The annual 5k walk/run is held in beautiful Sutton, WV as part of the Mountain Lakes Festival. The 2013 That Dam Race 5k is set for July 20 at 8:00 am. Preregister Now! Last year the course record was broken with a time 19:39! Do you think you've got what it takes to break it this year?
The course begins under the backdrop of the magnificent Sutton Dam at the Downstream Recreation Area. Participants then have a strenuous climb up the face of the dam and then across the top. Then, the course takes them on a trip through the woods and back down the Elk River. Participants hit the brick paved streets of historic downtown Sutton. The finish line is nearly in sight as participants head back up the river with the dam in the distance.
The race ends back at the recreation area where it began. Come challenge yourself on one of the toughest and most unique courses in the area!
Our course is certified by the USATF with Certification # WV11001MS.
