Visit by Alan Rossiter - AIChE Regional Coordinator (Feb 2011)

posted Mar 24, 2011, 7:54 PM by Nancy Garnett

Alan Rossiter visited with Dallas Section AIChE to get familiar with activities in the Dallas area.  Chair Nancy Garnett and Vice Chair Ramiro Rodriguez visited with Alan in early February 2011.  He was very positive in that we have an active section and that we are available online to keep in contact with the local members and other interested parties. We appreciated his visit and his more recent inclusion of our group for the STS Webcast meetings.
Our local section has decreased in active local members to somewhere in the vicinity of 150 paying members.  Dallas area has many more national members who are active locally in other societies.
This was Alan Rossiter's introduction to us:

My name is Alan Rossiter, and I am the immediate Past Chair of AIChEs South Texas Section (Houston). I have been asked to take on the role of Regional Coordinator for AIChE, and as this is a new volunteer position, Im still trying to work out what it should entail. A big part of working that out is talking to leaders in various sections and learning from them.

From what I can see the Dallas Section is one of the most successful in Texas, and I would like to talk to you and get your input, especially on what has worked well for you guys.
