We have lived in Scotland for 30 years while Heather has been part of this area throughout her life. We have ventured far and wide in the Highlands and have plenty of knowledge of  special places to visit which we love to share.

We are very central to some of the most beautiful scenery the Scottish Highlands has to offer.

With an abundance of bird life including Eagles, Ospeys, Kingfisher, Owls also Otters, Pine Martins, Stags and of course the leaping Salmon in the River Lochy which can be seen a short distance from the house.

Gairlochy is a small village with plenty of short relaxing or more strenuous walks around the Canal, The River Lochy, Loch lochy or the Great Glen Way.

Spean Bridge is 3 miles (5 kilometres) away.  There you will find a few restaurants, a grocery shop, Post Office, Highland Woolen Mill with coffee shop, a Railway Station and a 9 hole Golf Course.

Aonach Mor mountain range has a quality ski resort and the only Gondola in the uk. The down hill mountain bike track one of the longest on the World Cup circuit.

Walking is a large part of this area whether you are a novice or expert we are sitting on the edge of the Great Glen Way at Gairlochy, there are beautiful walks from here starting from 100 mtrs from the house. If you enjoy hill walking we are local to many Munro's and of course there is the challenge of Ben Nevis and Aonach Mhor which are easily accessible by car.

Canoes which can be hired at Corpach and they will let you know the best and safest canoeing in the area

Cycling You can hire bikes and have them delivered to Dalcomera, we are 200 mtrs from the Great Glen Cycle Route.

Steam train to Mallaig. Enjoy a rest day, with scenery of one of the most beautiful railway lines in the UK. Enjoy a wee stop at Mallaig fishing village and have fresh fish and chips venture on the ferry to Skye and back to extend your day trip before boarding the train back to either Fort William or Corpach.

Restaurant at Corrour an excellent adventure for an evening meal (bookable in advance through their website) Catch the train from Spean Bridge, this restaurant is very popular and only has a limited number of tables, a worthwhile trip with a bit of a difference and fun. With only one train up for an evening meal and only one back to Spean Bridge, make sure you are ontime for the last train.

The islands are amazing you could be anywhere in the world on some of their surrounding beaches. Take a trip back in time. Island hops are available from Mallaig, Oban, Arisaig.
