What if…

What if…

 

These are the absolutely the best two words in the human language for a writer.

 

The writer prepares themselves by absorbing tons of information, reading tons of books (all kinds from all categories of fiction to philosophy, chemistry, etc.), listening to lectures and encountering life.

One cannot write if one has not lived.

 

First go and live.

 

Absorbing all the way, as you live.

 

Then posit scenarios.  What if this were to happen?  What if that were to happen?  Wait a minute, what about this?

 

It does not matter if the “what if” is possible

 

Nor does it matter if the “what if” is probable.

 

The more outlandish, the more likely you can use that “what  if” to develop a story or article.

 

It can be founded in fact, but not necessarily.
