Welcome to the Dakota Ridge Sports Association's Midget Sports page! My name is Jeremiah Behrendsen and I sit on the Board of Directors for the DRSA. I am also a football coach at Dakota Ridge High School and coach youth basketball and baseball through the DRSA. This site is designed to help coaches and parents give their kids the ultimate experience when playing as a part of the DRSA midget program.

Hopefully, through this resource:
  • Coaches will have a direct contact person specifically related to the Dakota Ridge Sports Association
  • They will be able to see what is appropriate for kids to be learning about the game at each level
  • They will have a resource for practice drills and practice planning/strategies
  • They will have a resource where game strategies and planning examples can be laid out
  • Most importantly we hope this resource will remove the anxiety and alleviate some of the common fears parents have about coaching youth sports.  Our hope is that parents will relish the opportunity to be a part of this very special learning experience in their children's lives.
Coaching midget sports is supposed to be about fun and teaching the kids the right way to play the games we love. You do not have to be an expert to make the decision to coach your child's team! Rather you just have to have a passion for the sport, a love for helping children have fun and grow, and a willingness to learn best practices and do what you can to teach your players.

Sports are about a lot more than fielding a ground ball, shooting a free throw, or tackling a running back. It is also about teaching kids how to win and lose the right way, how to deal with failure and adversity, how to make connections with friends and work together as a team, as well as how to create an avenue to get yourself out of the daily grind and into a world filled with joy and excitement!

I truly look forward to working with all of you this year and hope to provide a valuable resource!
