Eagle Scout Forms, Documents and Web Links From National
The following documents are provided for Scouts, units and Eagle project Coaches. They provide information about various aspects of the Eagle advancement process and provide guidance on a number of those processes.

Recent Revisions:
National released a significant number of changes to the advancement requirements in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019. Scouts who have signatures in the previous version of the Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook may continue to use the old workbook.

Navigating the Eagle Scout Service Project; Information for Project Beneficiaries
The official Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook January 2021, No. 512-927 pdf file must be used. The official pdf file must be used when submitting projects for review. Word versions or counterfeit version of the workbook will be rejected.
The PDF document supports expandable text boxes and importing of images. Scouts should not attempt to open this workbook in a browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.) or in programs such as Nuance PDF Converter. This to say that the file should be downloaded and must be opened, edited and saved with Adobe Reader 9 or later since the workbook was created in Adobe LiveCycle. The latest version are:
NOTE: The most recent version of the workbook must be used when a Scout starts development of their proposal. Once started, Scouts must be allowed to continue using the version they started with, whether or not their proposal has been approved. A Scout whose proposal has already been approved using the original workbook may opt to use the “Final Plan,” the “Fundraising Application,” and the “Project Report” sections from the current workbook.
Please refer to How to Complete the Workbook for additional details about the workbook. This guide can also be used by units when reviewing a project submission to ensure that the Workbook content is complete.
Eagle Scout Rank Application, No. 512-728. Scouts must use the 2020 form if they have not already started filled out the 2019 form. Council will also accept the 2019 version for a short period of time.
Risk Management and Safety
Unit Leaders and Committee Chairs are responsible to assure that the Life Scout incorporates appropriate BSA guidelines into his Eagle service projects and that trained adults are present during the physical execution phases of the Eagle project.

Guide to Advancement and Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook Video Overviews
National has converted to video format a number of presentations which provide further insight into the two most critical publications produced by the BSA national Advancement Team. The intent is to provide a better understanding of how BSA advancement policies and procedures should be interpreted and implemented.
