OMEA District IV Large Group Adjudicated Event

March 10th and 11th, 2017

 

Dear OMEA High School Band and Choir Directors:

The District IV Large Group Adjudicated Events will be held on March 10th and 11th, 2017 at Westlake High School (Bands), Midview Middle School and Midview East Intermediate (Choirs).  Choir directors please be aware that all choral performances will be in a gym.  If you recall, Dustin Wiley had emailed asking for volunteers to host the choral site and Midview stepped up to host and was not able to secure the High School for the event but was able to find two other schools in order to host. Although the event is split between three sites, All BAND and CHOIR correspondence should be sent to:

OMEA asks all directors to enter their ensemble applications through the web site:

Instructions from OMEA for entering your band or choir:

  1. The portal will open on January 14 and will close on February 11.
     

2.     Log onto the member portal and choose Large Group from the Online Registration menu. Those who have been assigned to an out-of–district or out-of-region site will need to go back online and complete the registration process.

  1. You will notice that all groups will register under Westlake High School – Bands and Choirs.  This is correct – we will sort you into sites by group when we are scheduling.
  1. Complete one form for each ensemble you are registering. Make sure to fill in all pertinent information including song titles, composers and performance order. You will also have the opportunity to make date and time requests.  Please work with your colleagues within your district and submit the same request information from all directors.  Requests should include groups that share students along with reasons for requests.  We will fill requests in application order!

  2. Print the summary of events form for your administrator to sign and mail to Hilary Patriok with your payment of $210.00 for each ensemble (checks payable to OMEA District IV Treasurer). Check to be sure that your OMEA membership is current as of March 10-11.  Fees must be paid before the day of the event.
     
  3. Four weeks prior to the event (February 11th), registration will close and information will be downloaded for scheduling all bands and choirs.  There are no exceptions to this deadline! The portal will not permit late registrations.
