Michael Ormerod, PhD worked as a research scientist at the Institute of Cancer Research, London, for 25 years. Since 1992, he has been a research consultant and educator. His major research interests are flow cytometry, in particular its application in cancer research and the mechanism of action of cytotoxic drugs. For 20 years, he conducted the Royal Microscopical Society's Course on Flow Cytometry in the UK. For 15 years, he ran the world's only Distance Learning Course on Flow Cytometry for the Virtual School of Biomedical Sciences, University of Ulster.
