Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does the CIA have mandatory home owner association (HOA)'s fees?

No, our dues are voluntary.   There are several developments located within the Cypress Improvement Association that have mandatory HOA dues.  These developments were constructed after our  community association was originally founded in the 1920s.  The CIA is an umbrella organization for all the houses and developments off of Cypress Creek Road in Severna Park, Maryland.

If you are considering buying a home within the Cypress Improvement Association and are unsure if your development has HOA fees, the best thing to do is ask a neighbor.

2. Can I pay my CIA dues online?

Yes, starting in March 2018, we have set up a PayPal account for community members to pay dues.

3.  Does Cypress Creek community have water access?

Yes.  The CIA maintains a pier at the end of Cypress Creek Road that is used for fishing, swimming, and water access for kayaking.   A private marina is also located within the community that is not associated with the CIA; the marina is located off of Amoss road.
