Welcome to the ISU HABET Team

The ISU High Altitude Balloon Experiments in Technology (HABET) team designs, builds, launches and recovers high altitude balloon payloads throughout the calendar year.  The program is designed to give students the ability to learn about the operations and engineering in launching payloads to near space conditions.  These flights can range from a variety of scientific and engineering payloads that are often designed by and built by the ISU HABET team or collaborating faculty, staff or student at ISU.  The ISU HABET team has also worked with outside agencies such as: NASA, Stanford University, and Boeing.

The HABET team is now part of the Make to Innovate (M:2:I) program in the Aerospace Engineering Department at Iowa State University.  Our Mission Control center is located in 0620 Howe Hall and we have a full communication suite located in the penthouse of Howe Hall which allows us to track HABET flights as well as satellites.
