Day Two and Three

The following websites will help you understand service learning during the civil rights movement. From each website, you will learn what it was like during that era.

After viewing these sites, discuss with your group what you have seen.

Day Four to Fourteen
It is time to take action! Check out the  sites under resources for successful projects other students just like you have done.  You will research the needs in the community and pick a Service-Learning project that fills one of those needs. Brainstorm ideas for the community that you could do in a couple of weeks. Suggestion: Don't bite off more than you can chew!!! Think about where you live and what you could do to make it better. Complete action plan worksheet.

Day Fifteen and Sixteen
After you have completed your project, your group will create a poster with the information you collected and present to the class about your Service-Based Learning project and how it impacted the community.
