Coaches' Philosophy

We feel it is important to communicate our philosophy of coaching to both parents and students,

allowing a better understanding of what to expect from us as coaches during the season.

  • Mutual Trust & Respect:  As coaches we strive to build mutual trust and respect with our student-athletes.  By doing so we hope to foster a strong relationship where our coaching advice will be absorbed by the student-athletes and the feedback and ideas from the student-athletes will be heeded by the coaches.

  • Dedication & Positive Attitude:  We fundamentally believe that hard work, dedication, and a positive mental outlook are the keys to improving performance and we teach these principles throughout the season.

  • Teamwork & Sportsmanship:  Teamwork and positively supporting teammates are essential parts of CVU Track and Field.  We encourage student-athletes to lead by example by trying new and different events and by challenging themselves to become as successful as possible.

  • Lifelong Enjoyment of Sport:  We see it as our job as coaches to foster a lifelong enjoyment of Track and Field.   We try to maintain a fun and inclusive atmosphere for our team.
