Background

Joon Mo Ahn is a (full) professor in the Department of Public Administration at Korea University, specializing in industrial technology policy, digital transformation, data-driven government, and SME policy. Before joining in academia, he worked for the Korean government ministries, such as the Ministry of Science and ICT where he engaged in R&D and innovation policy. He serves as the president of the Citizens’ Coalition for Right Science and Technology, the president of Korean Society for Innovation Management and Economics, a board member of the Institute of Convergence Technology, a member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea, and an associate member of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology. He is a head of the Institute for Government Studies, Korea University, the President of the Korean Society for Innovation Management & Economics, and an Associate Editor of R&D Management Journal (SSCI). Over the past five years, he has published 34 academic papers, 9 books, and 3 English book chapters. In 2023, he was recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher at Korea University (FWCI 4.93).
