'UnClaimed' Photograph Project
The UnClaimed Photograph exhibition aims to reunite a sack of lost photographs with their owners or relations. The Photographs were rescued from a skip on Wood Street, Liverpool, when the Samson Camera Shop closed down earlier this year [2009], and go as far back as the 1930's (people getting reprints of family photos) all the way through the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, upto recently.
This fascinating collection of photos provides an amazing insight into the lives of local people, their holidays, celebrations and day-to-day sights through a very personal documentary format.
The exhibition will be open to the public weekday afternoons in August from 3 to 6pm, and we are inviting local people to come and hunt for familiar faces and places in the photographs.
The exhibition will culminate in a closing event where visitors will be invited back and have opportunity to take photos away with them.
The International Gallery, 34 Slater St; Liverpool L1 4BX.
Exhibition: Monday-Friday, 3-6pm. during August.
Closing event this Friday (August 28th) 6-9pm. Come and claim your photos!

We still need help from volunteers in invidulating (minding) the exhibition. It's a great opportunity to talk to people about their stories in a relaxed environment. If you would like to help out, please contact Beccy Williams on : 07904 08 96 08 or by email at: Or call into the MelloMello cafe (40-42 Slater Street) where there is a volunteer rota behind the bar where you can check available dates and leave your name and number.
