Chapter President's Message

COUTA Members.... As we climb closer to the end of the school year, I wanted to take a moment to talk about some upcoming events. We have, as of 2/5/16, "sunshined" our openers for next year's negotiations. As always we have asked for salary, benefits -- and this year -- BTSA compensation.
I will be visiting the K-5 school sites in the coming months to survey our members on the P/D hours for the upcoming year. Your input is needed to guide the negotiation team as we prepare for next year. I will be explaining the options to all sites.
We have some events scheduled for the spring for all our teachers, which will be provided by the Association. More details will be announced shortly. We also will be announcing the raffle winners for Good Teaching North and South Conferences in the next week or so. These are excellent conferences for teachers and, as always, your Association will be picking up the tab for our winning members.
If anyone has questions or concerns, please be sure to contact your site rep, an executive board member, or myself. We are listed, phone numbers or email addresses, on this website. We are here to help you in anyway!
