The Human Race - March 18th

We have information for the Human Race in our office at 930 S. Fayetteville St., Asheboro if anyone is interested in walking or running for CUOC.

The Human Race is a fundraiser for organizations with non-profit status in Randolph County, such as CUOC. We have a team, raise money and participate in this event by registering for the event to either walk or run and pledge an amount to Christians United Outreach Center.

We would love to have you join our team.  The race will take place March 18th and start at Bicentennial Park.  Anyone that has not pre-registered will need to register between 9:00 and 9:45 a.m. at the park.  I am asking anyone that walks on our behalf to meet at the back steps of the CUOC Thrift Store at 9:45 for a group picture.  The race/walk starts at 10:00 right after opening ceremonies.

There is no minimum sponsorship dollar amount, however, if you want a T-shirt you must raise at least $25.  If you plan to “run” you must raise/turn in at least $30 with your registration to help cover the cost to time the runners.

Anyone participating will have to complete a registration form whether you collect sponsorship money or not.  I will be turning any money raised that was turned into me and picking up T-shirts on the 17th @ 2:00.   I will hand them out at the back steps of the store beginning at 9:00 if you want to put yours on.

Please be aware that if you wait until the day of the race to turn in your money, it will be applied to the race in 2018, but that is an option if you can’t get it to me or the United Way office on the 17th in time to pre-register and pick up your shirt(s).

We can also supply an envelope to collect sponsorship money in if you need it.  We hope you will join us at this event.  If you can’t there is another opportunity with the Road Runners Race in April!

The race is sponsored by The Volunteer Center and all preparations are done by a committee of volunteers that solicit sponsors, print materials, media publicity, awards, refreshments and entertainment to make sure the race is a success.

This event is a WIN-WIN for the community. The participating organizations receive a large percentage of the monies raised and The Volunteer Center receives the remainder.

Thank you for your support,

Debbie Cole, Executive Director
