Thank you for choosing to participate in “Randolph’s Got Talent”

Performance Categories are:

·         Vocal

·         Instrumental

·         Dance

·         Variety (including all acts not falling within the above categories)

Participants may enter any one category per audition date

Randolph’s Got Talent committee reserves the right to add, delete or change categories depending on audition results.

The talent show auditions and final performances will be held on:

·         Saturday April 21st  , Audition #1 @ 9:30 am at the Sunset Theatre

·         Monday May 7th  , Audition #2 @ 7:00 pm at the Sunset Theatre

·         Saturday June 23rd  Audition#3 @ 9:30 am at the Sunset Theatre

·         Friday, July 13th  – Talent Show Finals @ 6:30 at AVS Banquet Center

Live participation is strongly suggested; however, if you are not going to be available in person for any of the three audition dates, we will accept a YouTube video performances submission with all required application materials, no later than June 23, 2018. NO EXCEPTIONS!  We do not take responsibility for recorded auditions that we are unable to play.  Links to Facebook pages are not an acceptable YouTube entry.

Auditioning does NOT guarantee a spot in the finals of Randolph’s Got Talent Show contest. All entry applicants will be contacted prior to their selected audition date to confirm approved participation.  If you have not heard from someone within 48 hours of your selected date please call Patti Benedict @ 336-625-1500 to confirm that we received your application.


All participants will be held accountable to the following rules for the Randolph’s Got Talent Show contest during auditions and finals.

-You must provide information stating what your connection to Randolph County is. 

- Any member of an act under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a guardian over the age of 21.

- Music with lyrics must by suitable for family audiences. You may not change the original lyrics for your act. Lyrics must be attached to the entry form.  If you don’t submit them prior to your audition, you will have to wait until the next available date.  


- No inappropriate language or jokes. No revealing clothes. Come to the audition in your “costume”!!!  Stage appearance is part of your score.  No suggestive body movements and no live animals.

- Lip-syncing is only permitted if part of a dance number.

- Acts are responsible for providing their own accompaniment.

- Pre-recorded music accompaniment must be provided at the time of the audition. Preferred and accepted formats are CD, MP3 or IPOD music players for auditions and performances but NOT PHONES. Anyone bringing a phone for music accompaniment will be automatically disqualified.

- Please make sure there is no main vocal track on your pre-recorded music.

- When submitting pre-recorded accompaniment be sure it is keyed at the precise start place applicable to your audition with your name, act, and song title written on it.

- If using an MP3/IPOD player the accompaniment must be on a separate play list named “Talent Show”.

- Acts requiring key board accompaniment are responsible for providing their own accompanist and key board however, there is a piano at the audition site as well as AVS for the finals.

- Acts are limited to a maximum of 5 minutes for set-up and sound check and 4 minutes in performance length. 

- Talent show scoring will be based on preparedness, presentation (e.g. clothing/costume, confidence and interview) and performance level.  It is important that your audition reflects your stage performance if you make it to the finals.

-  We encourage amateurs to audition however if you have a paid agent or a recording contract, sorry, but you are not eligible          - Judges decisions are final


1. Only one entry form should be turned in per individual or group act. ALL INFORMATION IS REQUIRED UNLESS NOT-APPLICABLE TO THE ACT.

2. Complete your entry form along with a parent consent form for each member under 18 years of age.

 3.  Attach an envelope with the entry fee to the entry form with your name on it. We suggest you submit your application early, space is limitedThe fee is $25.00 per individual act. The application fee for group acts is $25 for up to three persons with an additional $10 per additional member over three. The application fee is non-refundable.

NEW! The entry fee will be discounted by $5 per act and additional $5 for each additional person over 3 people for attending the first audition date.

Be sure to mark your name on the envelope.  If we request that you re-audition or you choose to re-audition with the same act, there is no additional charge.  If you choose to re-audition with a new selection or audition in another category the fee will be $15.  Be sure to indicate if it is an initial audition or a re-audition on the form.

4. Mail all completed entry forms, lyrics if applicable and fees to CUOC/RGTS to PO Box 784, Asheboro, NC 27204 postmarked no later than June 20,2018 OR drop off in person to either the Super Thrift Store located @ 135 Sunset Ave. or Client Services located @ 930 S. Fayetteville St. in Asheboro no later than noon June 22nd , 2017. NO EXCEPTIONS

5. Turn in a CD with your music if applicable or CLEARLY annotate which of the alternate methods of providing musical accompaniment you will use.

6. Complete a permission slip for yourself and each member in your act if under the 18 years of age.

Prizes - There will be four awards:

1.       Grand Prize: FREE Marquee performance at Sunset Theatre and $500 prize

2.      People’s Choice: Trophy and invitation for the Marquee Performance

3.      Second Place $250 prize

4.      Third Place $125 prize

The second and third place winners will have the opportunity to perform as the opening act for the Grand Prize and People’s Choice winners should they choose to do so.


The chances of winning a prize are dependent on the number of applications and contestants received for screening, auditions, and the final competition.

Randolph’s Got Talent Show


Please Have Each Member of your performing act read and sign the statement below.  Please make a copy for each person and after they sign, keep a copy for your records. Submit the original signed statement(s) with the application.


I ______________________________, have read and agree to all the rules set forth for the 2018 Randolph’s Got Talent competition.  By signing this agreement I understand that pictures and/or videos may be made both during the auditions and the final competition should I perform in the final round.  I give my permission (a parent or legal guardian must sign on behalf of a minor in addition to the minor performing) by signing below, to be photographed and/or videoed during my performances. I do hereby assume full responsibility for any risk of bodily injury, personal injury or mental injury or death due to our child's participation in this activity. I also further hereby assume full responsibility for all lost, stolen, or damaged personal property and will not hold the Asheboro/Randolph’s Got Talent Show or CUOC Board members and staff responsible for said loss or damage to personal property.

I further release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue the Randolph’s Got Talent Show or CUOC Board members and staff, agents or anyone acting on its behalf, from all liability, arising from or by reason of any bodily injury, personal injury or mental injury, known or unknown, including death, resulting from my child's participation in the Asheboro/Randolph’s Got Talent Show.

I expressly agree that this release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of North Carolina or any other state in which said participant may be injured and that if any portion of this release is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, nevertheless, continue in full force and effect.
