Programs

The Middle East Studies Center offers the following programs, based on interest and financial resources available:

Current Developments in the Middle East, Lectures and Symposia - over the past year and a half these have focused on the Arab awakening.  

Ottoman History and Central Asian History lecture series and conference panels.  

A week long institute on the peoples and cultures of the Middle East, "The Middle East in World Affairs"

Arab World Workshop, a day-long workshop on the history and cultures of Arab peoples.  

Turkic World Workshop, a day-long workshop on the history and cultures of Turkic peoples.  

Workshops on special topics, such as  Middle Eastern American Identities, coming up on September 19th, 2012. 

There are a wealth of diversity training resources on campus, such as the Glenn School's "Cultural Consciousness and Inclusion" Workshop.  If these interest you, they may be eligible to fulfill some of your requirements.  Just let us know! Also keep in mind that many of the above are recorded and can be accessed online.  We are also developing additional modules and online programs. Stay tuned for further updates.
