Bristol University School for Policy Studies is pleased to host the Wales and South West England Social Work Doctoral Conference on Monday the 7th January 2013. The day is run by doctoral students for doctoral students and provides an opportunity to present research in a friendly and relaxed environment. Funding for this day has been kindly provided by the Bristol University School for Policy Studies meaning that there is no fee for attendance. Unfortunately no travel or accommodation bursaries are available for those wishing to attend. Applications for presentations by doctoral students outside of Bristol University are welcome. We are also keen to encourage attendance by practitioners, academics and policy makers from other institutions to attend.
Doctoral social work research days have been held at Cardiff University for the past four years, with great success. Since 2011, the South Wales Doctoral Training Centre (DTC) has welcomed students from Swansea and Bristol Universities with a number of doctoral students attending and presenting. This year, Bristol will be hosting the day and welcoming doctoral students from universities in Bath and Exeter as we strengthen our links in social work between the two DTCs. Presentation topics have reflected the broad range of interests in social work and are available to view in the Previous Research Days link.
