Post 419 and the Santa Clara Sister City Association, in conjunction with the Santa Clara Police and Fire Departments, is presenting a 9/11 Remembrance ceremony for Sunday September 11, 2011. This event will mark the tenth anniversary of the attack on America that occurred on September 11, 2001. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
As part of this event, Post 419 wishes to acknowledge our Santa Clara community members who are serving in the military or who have loved ones serving. We will have two activities that everyone is encouraged to participate in. The first will be a booth where you can sign a greeting card to our troops. The second is a booth where donations of items for care packages will be collected. Donation items may be selected from the list below. If you don't want to donate specific items, money donations will be accepted to help pay for the postage and/or to purchase additional items.
To send cards and care packages, we must have the name and mailing address of the military member. Please help us identify troops to whom we can send care packages and greeting cards. If you are unable to attend the event on September 11th but would like to have a card or package sent to your family member or loved one, you may bring details to Post 419 any time before Sunday September 11th.
If you have any questions regarding this event or the card and care package activities, please contact Don Newton (Post 419 past commander and event coordinator) at 408-981-6010, or for information regarding the card and care package activity only, contact Debbi Dresser (Auxiliary Unit 419 member) at 510-786-6014.
