Welcome to the Bear Den

Den Number 4

Third Grade
      or 8-9 Yrs

Den Leader
      Josh Lemmons

Our Goals   In the Bear Den, there are four general achievement groups: God, Country, Family, and Self. There are 120 achievement tasks and your Bear Cub must earn a certain number of achievements in each of the four groups to earn his Bear Badge.  This is the year your son will grow in amazing ways. After earning their Bear Badge, the scout may earn arrow points by completing additional achievement tasks.

Summary Much of the advancement for the Bear rank is done by the scout with his family outside of the den.  The parent signs off in the scout's handbook and the Den Leader records the advancements from the handbook in our tracking Software.  The Bear program relies heavily on family involvement, but you will see this gradually change with the scout doing more with his den and more individual direction as he graduates to Webelos.

Is your Third Grader thinking about Scouts?
Then you probably have some questions...

What the Bears are "Doing"...
  • congratulation on 1st space derby    Our first space derby was a huge success and all the scouts seemed to really enjoy the racing. As webelos II leader, I was happy to see webelos II boys had a good showing in the finals as there time in cub scouts nears the end of its' journey. Kevin Koff and Tyler Darling had a best of four races in the end, which were very close, with Kevin taking top honors. Congratulations!

  • Webelos II are getting it done! The creative boys in the Webelos II den are working hard to put on a puppet show for the next pack meeting. They are coming up with some great ideas. This week a set is being built and the final stages of the play will be finshed. Everyone will enjoy their performance.
