Races

A player's race is the species to which the character belongs. Race can never be changed, although a shape-shifting effect may cause this temporarily.

All characters possess attributes. These may be altered by traits, which are purchased with AP.
  • Health is the amount of damage a character can take before dying. At and below zero, a character will begin to die unless prompt attention given. Normally, health does not regenerate.
  • Stamina is the amount of physical force a character can exert before becoming exhausted. A character will normally regenerate one point of stamina per turn, and double that when skipping a turn.
  • Energy is the amount of mental force that a character can exert before becoming exhausted. A character will normally regenerate one point of energy per turn, and double that when skipping a turn.
  • Piety is divine power granted by a deity. A character gains piety at the end of each day, depending on how closely conduct was followed.
  • Carrying capacity, which limits the amount of weight units that can be carried around.
  • Movement speed, which is how far a character can move in a single turn.
Player characters travel in groups called parties, which move as fast as the slowest member. While adventuring, characters need some amount of supplies to keep going, typically one unit of supplies per party member. At the end of each day, the party may choose to rest to fully regain health, stamina and energy. While resting, one supply unit is consumed per party member. If a party runs low on supplies, they will not gain anything from resting and will be fatigued unless they forage or manage to find a town.
