Christ The King Parish Job Networking Ministry

Welcome to our CTK Job Networking home page - we invite you to look around and see how we can help you with your job transition. We welcome your comments and questions.

The Purpose of the Ministry

A place for all job seekers, parishioners and non-parishioners alike, to come for hope, encouragement, support and practical tips and tools needed in a job search.

We accomplish this by:

  • Providing a supportive and nurturing environment for those who are seeking gainful employment.  Our ministry is for the unemployed, the underemployed and for those looking for a new or better job/career opportunity.
  • Providing a forum for job-skills training and workshops in a Large Group setting to help enhance job-hunting skills, knowledge and confidence.
  • Providing emotional support and encouragement via Small Groups/Success Teams who meet weekly to share contacts, opportunities, ideas and job leads.
  • Providing Connections to job opportunities through Career Actions Network, including immediate job leads upon signing-up, plus the option of posting profiles and resumes that will regularly be made available to hiring managers.
  • Providing a place for job seekers to network with one another and make connections with both job contacts and job leads.  This networking opportunity is based on the concept of Reciprocity, which occurs when one person shares with others without expecting anything in return.  It is Unconditional Sharing and Giving based on the parable of the Good Samaritan.

Many blessings to you,

CTK Job Networking Ministry Leadership Team

Helpers Wanted - Success Team Facilitators

The Job Networking Ministry at Christ the King Church in Pleasant Hill is looking for volunteers who are willing to assist with facilitating small weekly group meetings of 6-8 job seekers. The facilitator selects the meeting time and location. Backgrounds such as Human Resources, Teaching, and Counseling are advantageous, but other general backgrounds, particularly Management, are equally qualifying. A four-month time commitment of two hours a week is requested - a three-month period of facilitating followed by an additional month to either phase out or commit to another term, if desired. Training is provided. Being a facilitator is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the important mission of the Christ the King Parish—“To Hear the Gospel and Make a Difference”.
