Annual Granite Gripper Climbing Competition
Posted July 23, 2015
The 24rd annual Granite Gripper will be held on Saturday October 24, 2015. Last year we raised $6304, had over 100 registered climbers, great weather, and no injuries. Let's try to do even better this year.
This is the longest running trad comp in North America and a fundraiser for the Friends of Enchanted Rock. All proceeds benefit Enchanted Rock State Natural Area. Follow the link in the graphic above to register for just $35 through October 22.
Bylaws of the CTCC Have Been Amended
Posted May 30, 2014
The bylaws were amended in April-May 2014 reducing the number of committee members from seven to five. The current lack of interest in committee membership triggered making the decision at this time, but this is a change we on the CTCC have been contemplating for quite a while. It only makes sense given that aside from bolt maintenance, the committee has had little real work to do over the past few years.
The amended bylaws are on the Bylaws page of this website.
Development of ERSNA Climbing Management Plan
Posted May 5, 2011; revised November 30, 2013
Enchanted Rock is currently under a bolting moratorium while TPWD works to implement a Climbing Management Plan (CMP). The CTCC offered TPWD a suggested beginning template for the CMP on Saturday April 30, 2011. Please note that this is a suggestion only. If you would like to review it and the cover letter that accompanied the suggested CMP, please click on the file-download links below.
CTCC and TPWD met on September 13, 2013 to discuss the CMP. CTCC provided a history section that TPWD will add to the CMP and then complete the remainder of the CMP. Please stay tuned - work is in progress.
