CTA Registration 2011

Please note that registrations for the School of Accounting Sciences Post-graduate Diploma in Accounting Sciences and B.Compt(Hons)/CTA programmes for 2011 closes on 21 January 2011.
Prospective students are strongly urged to register as soon as possible as both programmes commence virtually immediately after the above-mentioned closing date.
This qualification will be offered for the last time in 2011. As from 2012 it will be replaced by the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Sciences CCTA level 1 and the Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Accounting Sciences CCTA level 2. Students who register for this qualification prior to or in 2011 have until the end of 2013 to complete it.
Please note the following transitional arrangements impacting on CTA registrations for 2011.
The following applicants will be allowed to register for CTA in 2011:
First timers: 
  • Applicants must have a BCompt (Accounting) degree with a SAICA approved curriculum with an average final mark of at least 55% for Financial Accounting at final undergraduate level; or
  • Applicants must have completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Sciences, regardless that he/she did not obtain 55% for Advance Financial Accounting (DIPAC15); or
  • An applicant was registered for the Hons BCompt/CTA in 2010 and failed, regardless that he/she obtained his/her undergraduate degree in 2007 or 2006. Previously the requisite undergraduate qualification and/or Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Sciences only remained valid for a period of three years.
