Institutes are comprised of student-centered classroom activities that utilize NASA assets and resources and will help educators develop instructional practices that will enhance STEM instruction for all students.
- Eligible participants are U.S. citizens enrolled in pre-service or alternate route teacher preparation programs at Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs).
- MSIs are encouraged to send a team of up to 5 pre-service teachers (elementary and/or secondary candidates in STEM fields) and a faculty sponsor.
- Participants engage in Pre-Institute online instruction, a 5-day on-site Institute experience at a NASA Center, and on-line Post-Institute instruction.
- Participants are provided with lodging, breakfasts and lunches, and a $500 stipend.
