Troop 110 traces its roots to its brother organization in Scouting, Pack 110 which is also chartered by the CME PTO. The first Troop 110 Scouts crossed over from Pack 110 in February, 2004 and brought along their Cubmaster and the Committee Chairman to found the new Boy Scout Troop.

Reasons for creating the new troop included:
- To bring Boy Scouting closer to our Broadmoor Bluffs neighborhood
- To help ease the scheduling challenge many parents experience in managing the lives of busy children
- To help relieve the pressure on other area Boy Scout troops
