This is the website for the CSTA 2015 workshop Mobile Computer Science Principles: Introducing Computer Science While Building Socially Useful Apps sponsored by the Mobile CSP Project. Mobile Computer Science Principles: Teaching Computing Through Mobile Technology Please join us at CSTA 2015 in Grapevine, Texas on Monday, July 13, 2015 from 9am-12pm. This hands-on workshop is for high school teachers and undergraduate faculty who are interested in teaching an introductory mobile computing course based on the CS Principles framework. The workshop will provide a overview of the online Mobile CSP course and a preview of the Mobile CSP Project's online professional development course for teachers. During the workshop participants will develop simple Android apps and be introduced to lessons, homework exercises, project assignments, and assessment materials (quizzes, grading rubrics) that can be used in an App Inventor-based, introductory-CS course. This workshop is suitable for those who are new to App Inventor, as well as those who would like to teach to the CS Principles standards with App Inventor. You need to bring your own laptop. Android devices will be provided on loan for the duration of the workshop. If you have your own Android phone or tablet, you can use that during the workshop. See set up for more information.
