To help fund Cub Scout activities through-out the year, the pack does fundraisers. Pack 53's largest fundraiser is the fall candy bar sales. The proceeds from the fundraisers help offset the cost for many of the campouts, various activities, awards, patches and books.
Candy Bar Sales
Candy Bar distribution will take place at the fall Round-Up. This is being held at McFarland Lutheran Church on Thursday September 3, 2009 starting at 6:00 pm. Please keep in mind that registration fees need to be paid for in order for candy bars to be handed out. The first tote is given on grace, any additional totes will need to be paid for that evening at $40 per tote. No cash will be accepted.
As in previous years every scout is expected to sell one tote. Five totes needed to be sold in order to earn the salesman patch. You have the option to buy out if you do not want to participate for $35. Tiger Cubs are not required to sell candy bars, but from personal experience it is very easy to do. Forty candy bars come in a tote, they are sold for $1 a bar and go quickly. There will be an informational sheet at the round up that should answer any questions you may have or you can ask.
Incentives are if the Pack sells 300 totes those that participated get a Laser Tag Party. The Awards have remained the same for top sellers of each rank. This information will be on a sheet handed to you with the candy bars.
