Welcome to Pack 53
“There is no teaching to compare with example.”
- Sir Robert Baden-Powell
The world is divided into talkers and doers. Their are too many talkers.
The doer is the man we need - the man whose vision is not limited by the narrow party consideration.
The path is simple; Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelo, Tenderfoot, 2nd Class, 1st Class, Star, Life, Eagle.
Only 10 steps for a child to becoming an Eagle scout, it is anything but easy or simple. It takes a lot of hard work and the support of friends, family, and leaders. Those that don't understand the scouting process fail to see that it is not really about camping, crafts, and activities. Those are but the tools used to mold a young child into an adult that is more than themselves. Every child has the potential to become that Eagle scout, but it takes time and learning they are capable of so much more. Those 'tools' just help make it fun, and give a scout a lifetime of memories.
This summer is full of activities at the Pack and Council level.
Get your kids involved and have some fun. Make some memories that will last a lifetime.
The success of Pack 53 needs YOU. We are a 100% volunteer organization, as such we are always in need of volunteers and leaders. Come to a parent meeting or contact Tim or myself if you can help in any way. Let's make this year a good one....
With the growth of social media sites, we are also conducting a trial. I have set up a private group on FaceBook, click link to access. There is not a requirement to join, but it is another place to gather and ask questions. It is private, and only people that are members of McFarland Scouts will be allowed to join.
This site is an active resource for both leaders, and parents. If you see anything that could be improved or would like something added let me know.
