See below for this information, and let the Cubmaster know if you have taken training. You will need to present the Pack with your certificate of completion to be listed as a trained leader.
 
 
******Online Training******
 
 
You can take the training online (see the link below) and print a copy of your certificate and give it to our Pack Training Coordinator.

Youth Protection Training 
 
Youth Protection training is available online (see above for link to training), and is designed to help you keep our youth safe from abuse. You will learn the Boy Scouts of America's Youth Protection Guidelines, signs of abuse, and how to report suspected abuse. After each section of material, you will answer questions about that section's topic. This course must be completed to earn the "Trained" emblem. All registered leaders are required to take and renew their Youth Protection Training annually. 

NO LEADER WILL BE ALLOWED TO LEAD SCOUT ACTIVITIES UNTIL THIS TRAINING DOCUMENT IS ON RECORD WITH THE PACK & COUNCIL!
 
 

Fast Start Orientation Training

Fast Start Orientation Training is available online (see above for link to training), and is intended to be taken by pack leaders and others immediately following the acceptance of a new role. Fast Start is designed to help new leaders understand the fundamentals of their specific program and give insight into the various leadership roles of the people they will be working with. Leaders will learn their responsibilities and how to keep things organized, fun, and exciting, along with information about other resources available to help assist in them in their new position. Estimated time to complete the online training is 45 minutes.

 

Cub Scout Leader Position-Specific Training

Cub Scout Leader Position-Specific Training is available online (see above for link to training), and will give new leaders the knowledge and skills needed to be successful. Part one is an introduction to Scouting and the Cub Scout pack, while part two is a module on how Cub Scouts have fun in the pack and the den. The third part is focused on specific training for Cubmasters, den leaders, pack committee members, and pack trainers.

 
Safe Swim Defense
 
Safe Swim Defense training is available online (see above for link to training), and all swimming activities in Scouting are required to follow the eight basic principles known collectively as the Safe Swim Defense plan. A unit that follows the plan can expect a safe, enjoyable aquatic experience. Safe Swim Defense is required for BSA tour permits.


Hazardous Weather
     
Hazardous Weather training is available online (see above for link to training), and must be completed prior to requesting a tour permit from the BSA. The module presents safety precautions for eight different types of weather, as well as planning, preparation, and traditional weather signs. You will answer questions about the topics after each section. Completion is noted automatically in the BSA training records database if the module is experienced online. Estimated time to complete the online training is 40 minutes.

 
 
******Class Based Training****** 
 
BALOO

BALOO - Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation for Cub Scout leaders is a one-day training event that introduces participants to the skills needed to plan and conduct Pack outdoor activities, particularly pack camping. This training is required for any adult who is in charge of planning a pack campout, and it is required that at least one adult per pack complete BALOO training and be present when the Pack camps! BALOO training is offered by individual districts.



 
Outdoor Leadership Skills for Webelos for Adults

OWLS - Outdoor Webelos Leader Training is for all Webelos leaders. This training course covers the skills & resources needed to teach the outdoor activity badges and helps to provide good & safe outdoor experiences. Completion of this training is required before a Webelos den can go on a campout. This is district-scheduled training.

 

BB and Archery
 
These training sessions require that you go to an in person session that is taught by the BSA.
