          Volunteer and Help Shape a Child’s Tomorrow

 

Foster Grandparents volunteer to help children in local public schools and

head-start programs of the Magic Valley learn to read and help them succeed.

      Do you have what it takes to help these children succeed?

      • Are you 55 years old or older?
      • Do you like making a difference in children’s lives?

 

What do Foster Grandparents Do?

 

  • Foster Grandparents develop caring, positive relationships with their students, schools, and teachers.
  • Foster Grandparents help students succeed in school.
  •  Foster Grandparents become encouraging mentors to child.
  • Foster Grandparents make positive impacts on the students they serve.

 

What do Foster Grandparents Receive?

 

  • A stipend of $2.65 per hour of service (to income eligible seniors).
  • Can work between 15 to 40 hours a week.
  • Reimbursement of mileage at $.46 a mile.
  • All Foster Grandparents are trained and screened.
  • The feeling of joy in knowing that you have made a positive influence in the life of a child.
