BREAKING NEWS: OBAMA & BIDEN TO ATTEND ARMY-NAVY GAME TODAY

TRUTHER.ORG: The Army-Navy game on December 10, 2011, appears to be the next big false-flag terror attack that will launch America into war with Pakistan. In 2007, the Fort Dix homegrown terrorists allegedly considered an Army - Navy game attack but decided it was too hard of a target. Coincidentally, CBS and ShowTime Sports are premiering a full-length documentary film on Army-Navy football on December 21, 2011.

YouTube-Video

The U.S. and NATO attacked Pakistan on November 26, 2011, and therefore any new terror attack on the U.S. will likely be touted as Pakistani revenge. Attacks on veterans and military personal are all over the news as of late and indicates that they will likely be targeted on a Pearl Harbor type level in the near future.

NORAD exercises and terror drills specifically involving the Army-Navy game vicinity include the If You See Something, Say Something Partnership with Maryland, the Washington D.C. Citywide Disaster Drill, the 1st NORAD Falcon Virgo Exercise in Washington D.C., the Capital Shield 2012 terror drill, and the 2nd NORAD Falcon Virgo Exercise in Washington D.C.

While it's hard enough to predict the weather let alone a false-flag terror attack, Truther.org has developed the False-Flag Terror for Dummies which identifies the signs of an impending false-flag terror attack. In 2011 alone, Truther.org accurately predicted the dates of two false-flags events based on the formula incorporated within the False-Flag Terror for Dummies.

The first false-flag date was predicted in the David Chase Taylor's book The Nuclear Bible which exposed the planned nuclear terror attack at Super Bowl XLV on February 6, 2011, in Dallas, Texas. The second false-flag date predicted was the Obama assassination attempt on November 11, 2011, which came weeks after the launch of the ObamaCSI website.

Truther.org refuses to rest on our laurels
and we believe that we have identified a 3rd false-flag in the making. The Army-Navy NCAA football game on December 10, 2011, has all the markings of a future-flag flag terror event. The evidence as to why has been laid out in an attempt to prevent the attack. We know that have identified something serious and we are not afraid to cry wolf!

WARNING: DUE TO INTERNET CENSORSHIP, ESPECIALLY IN CASE OF A TERROR ATTACK, DOWNLOAD THE ARMY-NAVY FALSE-FLAG PDF AT BOTTOM OF PAGE AND FORWARD IT TO MEDIA OUTLETS WORLDWIDE

With his popularity at an all-time low, Obama will NEVER will re-election in November of 2011 unless America is hit with major terror attacks greater than 9/11. Should this happen, Pakistan has been set up to take the fall and a nuclear World War III will likely ensue. Therefore, please take the time to research the claims presented here and forward the information to everyone you know. We can stop this attack if we want to. Power to the people! Namaste.

1. Army-Navy Football Game: On December 10, 2011, U.S. President Barack Obama is expected to attend the Army-Navy football game along with numerous dignitaries at FedEx field in Landover, Maryland. This is the first time that the Washington D.C. area which will host the storied 112th Army vs. Navy game. The game is the only game on the NCAA college football game on the schedule and will kick off at 2:30pm EST on CBS Sports to a national audience. An article in the Wall Street Journal entitled, “More Than Games Lie Ahead For Army-Navy Players” states that “Players who will soon face dangers far greater than the triple option”. Coincidentally, CBS and ShowTime Sports are premiering a full-length documentary film on Army-Navy football on December 21, 2011.

Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo stated that "There's also a chance they might have to pay the ultimate sacrifice. They'll be in harm's way — that's a reality. Another article covering the game is entitled "Landing Rivals An Olympic Coup For Washington Sports Committe", possibly insinuating that there may in fact me a military coup and quotes Navy athletic director Chet Gladchuk as saying, "The nation’s Capital provided a wonderful opportunity to commemorate and reflect on the 10th anniversary of September, 11th". Nike, the company providing the uniforms for the game, has outfitted Navy with undershirts featuring a snake representing the 13 colonies along with the script “Don’t Tread on Me”.

2. Obama & Military Football: Aside from hosting almost every major professional sports franchise and star athlete at the White House, U.S. President Barack Obama has gone out of his way to host the Navy Football Team, twice, and recently honored the Air Force Academy football team at the White House in April of 2011. Obama’s military photo-ops indicate that a more sinister motive may be in play as none of these teams had an outstanding season or made a bowl appearance.

3. Terror Target: U.S. Military: Since November 30, 2011, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Congress have suddenly stated that the U.S. military is the top terror target. A hearing entitled  “Homegrown Terrorism:  The Threat to Military Communities Inside the United States”, was the first-ever joint hearing convened by both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

The chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, Connecticut Zionist Sen. Joe Lieberman, said the military has become a "direct target of violent Islamist extremism" within the United States. "The stark reality is that the American service member is increasingly in the terrorists' scope and not just overseas in a traditional war setting".

"In the five years subsequently, these type of plots nearly doubled, and 14 innocent Americans have been killed – 13 at the Fort Hood Army base and one at a military recruiting station. Clearly, the threat of homegrown terrorism has increased dramatically, and clearly, members of the Armed services are a high-value target. I look forward to a deeper explanation of these trends and the development of a clear strategy to protect our military from terrorism here at home,” said Lieberman

Representative Peter King of New York stated that "And if they (military personnel) can be killed, then that is a great propaganda victory for al Qaeda," King told Fox News. King said there is also evidence that extremists have joined the services. "There is a serious threat within the military from people who have enlisted who are radical jihadists," King said. "The Defense Department is very concerned about them. They feel they're a threat to the military both for what they can do within the military itself and also because of the weapons skills they acquire while they're in the military."

Lawmakers have stated that:

The Majority Staff of the House Committee on Homeland Security has been conducting an investigation, which finds that 70% of the plots against military targets occurred since mid-2009 – including the two successful homeland attacks since 9/11. Other key findings:
  1. More than 5 terror plots have been disrupted involving U.S. military insiders in the past decade and at least 11 or more cases involved veterans or those who attempted to join law enforcement and intelligence agencies. The likelihood of another deadly attack by a trusted insider is a severe and emerging threat, which the Pentagon is aggressively investigating to identify perpetrators;
  2. 2 successful attacks against the military outside of Afghanistan and Iraq were perpetrated by radicalized soldiers assigned to U.S.-based Army units: at Camp Pennsylvania in Kuwait in 2003 and at Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009;
  3. At least 16 external terror plots targeting military personnel stationed inside the U.S. Homeland have been disrupted or investigated;
  4. At least 9 other external plots were thwarted involving U.S. Persons in the homeland who traveled or planned trips overseas to kill G.I.s in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere;
  5. A growing number of terrorist threats are directed at families of military personnel. Particularly at risk are relatives of troops in units involved in counterterror operations (DHS, 2011).

4. Military Terror Plots & Patsies: Attacks on U.S. military personal and law enforcement started in 2009, but have increased in veracity over the last few months. These attacks, while likely false-flag terror attacks in their own right, are designed to make the military and law enforcement paranoid, fearful, and untrusting of their own countrymen, neighbors, and anyone not wearing a uniform like theirs. There is no doubt that a military attack will be viewed as an act of war and that the alleged nation behind the attack (Pakistan) will be invaded shortly after.

1. June 2009: Pvt. William Andrew Long, allegedly the first soldier to die at the hands of a terrorist since Sept. 11, 2001, in America, was gunned down at an Arkansas military recruitment center.

12. December 9, 2011: Faruq Khalil Muhammad `Isa, a 38-year-old Canadian citizen, arrested in terror plot that killed 5 U.S. troops in Iraq in 2009.

5. Terror Target: Washington D.C.: Washington D.C. has been a staging ground for false-flag terror ever since the Pentagon was attacked on 9/11. Despite all the shootings, attacks and terrorism, the U.S. Supreme Court curiously reversed its gun ban in 2008.

1. September 2001: Al Qaeda allegedly attacks Pentagon killing 125 on the ground and 64 in the plane.
2. October 2002: The D.C. Sniper kills 3 while targeting the Washington D.C area.
3. June 2008: The Supreme Court ruled that the District of Columbia must reverse its gun ban.

7. March 2010: Gunman shoots 2 Pentagon police officers before the officers killed him.
8. October 2010: A series of shootings start on military buildings and the Pentagon. Case remains unsolved.
9. September 2011: Federal officials cited “credible but unconfirmed terror threat" against Washington D.C., and stated that the threat could potentially involve car or truck bombs.
10. September 2011: Man arrested for plotting to blow up Pentagon and the US Capitol with homemade drones
.
11. November 2011: Gunman attacks White House with AK 47 while Obama is in San Diego, California.

6. War Games & Terror Drills: According to Fox News host Glenn Beck, the first ever activation of the Emergency Alert System on November 9, 2011, allows the U.S. government to "seize control" of communications, The activation of the EAS also comes at a time when major military drills such as Operation Mountain Guardian, Urban Shield, Operation Focused Lens, as well as drills specifically related to Washington D.C. entitled  Washington D.C. Citywide Disaster Drill, NORARD's Falcon Virgo Exercise, and Capital Shield 2012 are being executed by the military and law enforcement nationwide. Maryland is also one of two U.S. states to partner with DHS in their "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign and clearly indicates that some sort of national terror tragedy is in the works.

If You See Something, Say Something Partnership: On September 12, 2011, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano announced new partnerships between the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) "If You See Something, Say Something™" public awareness campaign and several sports organizations and collegiate universities. Other partnerships with the "If You See Something, Say Something™" campaign have been recently launched by the state of Maryland and the city Baltimore.

Washington D.C. Citywide Disaster Drill A:
On, September 28, 2011, the District of Columbia hosted a city-wide natural disaster exercise. First responders and agencies trained for a scenario in which a Category 2 hurricane makes landfall in D.C. The simulated disaster will take place at RFK Stadium in southeast Washington. Inside the stadium, the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency, the Red Cross and the D.C. National Guard set up a simulated shelter.

1st NORAD’s Falcon Virgo Exercise:
On October 26, 2011, NORAD executed an exercise in the Washington D.C. area that simulated both military and civilian aircraft which were to “fly patterns about 1,000 feet above ground level”. Shortly before 9/11, NORAD conducted drills on both the Pentagon and the World Trade Center.

Capital Shield 2012: On November 2, 2011, 13 hospitals and over 80 federal, state and local agencies in the Maryland-D.C. area were put to the test in a full-scale disaster drill. The drill was aimed at testing the region’s response to a mass casualty terrorist attack. Victims were diagnosed on scene by first responders testing out a new tracking system. The system, named the Real Time Locating System, is similar to a package or mail tracking system but instead tracks patients by their triage tag that has a scannable barcode.

2nd NORAD’s Falcon Virgo Exercise: On December 6, 2011, the secind Falcon Virgo exercise took place which involved a series of training flights to refine operations and test the National Capital Region Visual Warning System. Civil Air Patrol aircraft, Air Force F-16s and a U.S. Coast Guard HH-65 Dolphin helicopter will all take part.

7. General Terror Warnings: Aside from the military plots and patsies, drills and war games, general terror warnings regarding planes and holiday terror have been issued by DHS and the FBI. The scenario of a plane being used in a terror attack at a football game is an unfortunate reality and has already been beta-tested for its terrorizing effect.

September of 2009: U.S. officials stated that terrorists could try to use small aircraft in attacks, but have no specific information that such a plot is in the works. According to the intelligence bulletin issued by the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI, "Violent extremists with knowledge of general aviation and access to small planes pose a significant potential threat to the Homeland”.

November 24, 2011: The Department of Homeland Security and FBI issued a joint notice to local law enforcement partners stating that federal officials "are not aware of any credible threats to the Homeland specifically timed to coincide with the 2011 holiday season. " The DHS/FBI bulletin goes on to say that intelligence received in the last year suggests "terrorists recognize that the large gatherings occurring during the holiday season provide an opportunity for mass casualty attacks” and that "we remain concerned that violent extremists could seek to conduct small-scale attacks during this year's holiday season" . This year marks the first Thanksgiving and Christmas season since the death of bin Laden.

8. Lone Wolf & Homegrown Terror Warnings:  The U.S. and Israeli government apparently know the inner workings of terrorism because they are all predicting the exact same thing: a "lone wolf" or "lone offender" will commit terror attacks upon America in the very near future. Which begs the question: If the future terrorist is a “lone wolf”, how is the known that he or she is planning an attack if they are not communicating with anyone else?

A "lone wolf" is much easier to handle publicly, criminally and politically than a grand conspiracy. The propaganda groundwork for the "lone wolf" has been
fed to the American public via mainstream and alternative media outlets in an attempt to divert attention from the real terrorist group that will likely execute the terror attack: Israeli Mossad. Remember, "Lone Wolf" is the new terror buzzword and it means that every American is now a terror suspect.

December 2, 2011: U.S. Homeland Security Director Janet Napolitano said Friday that the risk of "lone wolf" attackers, with no ties to known extremist networks or grand conspiracies, is on the rise as the global terrorist threat has shifted. "The thing that's most noticeable to me is the growth of the lone wolf," the single attacker who lives in the United States or elsewhere who is not part of a larger global conspiracy or network, she said.

December 8, 2011: The White House unveiled a new strategy to battle homegrown terrorism by fostering coordination between local authorities and teaching officials to better recognize violent extremism. “What we have to do is be prepared for these different types of approaches that al Qaeda is pursuing,” Obama’s chief counterterrorism adviser, John Brennan, told NPR. “The large attacks, the small attacks, the groups that are operating together and the individuals who may be vulnerable to these types of entreaties.”

9. Terror Scapegoat: Pakistan: The Pakistani Government, its ISI, Osama bin Laden (who was killed in Pakistan), and alleged terrorists groups within Pakistan have allegedly plotted, financed or executed almost every single act of terror against the West on record for the last 20 years. Should a major terror attack on America take place, Pakistan will be scapegoated and the attack will be touted as revenge for the unprovoked U.S. & NATO attack on Pakistan on November 26, 2011,

Since this blatant attack by the U.S. and NATO forces, Pakistan has retaliated by closing NATO supply lines, ordering drone attacks to stop, closing U.S. drone bases, and stating that they will retaliate if attacked again. Also, the U.S. just arrested an alleged Pakistani terrorist in America and Al Qaeda in Pakistan has just kidnapped an American Jew. All these events indicate that the World War III nuclear scenario with Pakistan as predicted in The Nuclear Bible is now inevitable.

On November 24, 2011, it was reported that three nuclear weapons were allegedly stolen from Oman. Should these nukes be used on America in a false-flag terror scenario, Pakistan will surely take the blame. Pakistan, aside from its alleged role in terrorism, is the greatest nuclear proliferator on record and will surely be scapegoated in any nuclear attack against the West or India.

Landing Rivals, An Olympic Coup For Washington Sports Committee

Date: December 7, 2011
Source: Hometown Annapolis

Abstract: The District of Columbia may not have landed the 2012 Summer Olympics, but the infrastructure created to make that bid resulted in the region getting this year's Army-Navy football game.

Washington had teamed with Baltimore on a bid to become the United States candidate for next year's Olympics, but lost out to New York. Of course, London was ultimately selected as the host city for the 2012 summer games.

YouTube-Video

After spending six years and some $10 million on the Olympic campaign, organizers on the D.C. end didn't want that effort going to waste. Fernando Murias, a wealthy businessman who helped spearhead the Olympic bid, formed the Greater Washington Sports Alliance for the purpose of attracting other notable sporting events to the region.

"We are the legacy of that failed bid," said Bob Sweeney, president of the Greater Washington Sports Alliance. Murias, managing partner for the D.C. branch of PricewaterhouseCoopers, serves as the organization's chairman.

Since being established in 2003, the GWSA has successfully landed the "Frozen Four" college ice hockey national championship and started the National Marathon.

The organization also established the Tewaaraton Award that is presented annually to the top men's and women's players in Division I lacrosse.

In 2006, the Greater Washington Sports Alliance decided to bid for the Army-Navy football game. Sweeney and other key officials from the GWSA attended a couple Army-Navy games in Philadelphia to "see how the overall event was organized and managed" then set about putting together a proposal.

Army and Navy issued a Request for Proposal in August, 2008 and one year later announced that three different sites had been selected to host the historic game from 2010 through 2017. Philadelphia, which has hosted 83 of the 111 Army-Navy games held to date, was awarded five of the eight years (2010, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017).

D.C. garnered the 2011 edition and will host Army-Navy for the first time at FedEx Field, home of the Washington Redskins. Baltimore received the 2014 and 2016 Army-Navy games, which will be held at M&T Bank Stadium and hosted by the Baltimore Ravens.

"Washington put forth a very thorough bid and we felt holding the Army-Navy game in the nation's Capitol provided a wonderful opportunity to commemorate and reflect on the 10th anniversary of September, 11th," Navy athletic director Chet Gladchuk said. "The close proximity to the White House, the Capitol, the Pentagon and all the other government buildings would create a tremendous feeling of patriotism."

It didn't hurt that FedEx Field is a 91,000-seat stadium, making it the largest venue to ever host the Army-Navy game. Sweeney said Saturday's service academy showdown is a sellout and that means more revenue for both institutions.

"Financially, D.C. definitely stepped up. All emotions aside, the venues that host this game have to be fiscally competitive," Gladchuk admitted. "Certainly, the size of the facility gave D.C. an opportunity to be very competitive with any other suitor."

Dallas, Chicago and San Diego were among the other cities that bid for the Army-Navy game. Of course, a provision that requires the host organization to provide transportation to the game for the entire Corp of Cadets and Brigade of Midshipmen makes it financially burdensome for any city west of the Mississippi to formulate a winning bid for Army-Navy.

The Naval Academy Athletic Association partnered with the Greater Washington Sports Alliance to host the Frozen Four and the relationships developed through that event helped the D.C. bid for the Army-Navy game.

"We have worked with Bob Sweeney and his staff in the past and they are very organized, very professional and very meticulous to detail," Gladchuk said. "We had the highest confidence that Bob and his group could deliver on what they promised."

Of course, the Greater Washington Sports Alliance needed a stadium to hold the game and thus partnered with the Redskins. Officials with that National Football League franchise had an indifferent relationship with the Naval Academy Athletic Association as a result of issues that surfaced during the years when Navy-Air Force football was held at FedEx Field. Gladchuk moved that service academy game back to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

However, Mitch Gershman, Chief Operating Officer for the Redskins, stepped up and made sure all concerns involving FedEx Field and the NFL franchise's involvement were solved to the satisfaction of Army and Navy.

"We had a number of issues that needed to be addressed and ironed out, but the Redskins have been very cooperative and accommodating," Gladchuk said. "The Redskins do this for a living. They deal with 90,000 fans every Sunday so I don't expect any logistical issues involving the venue."

That being said, Gladchuk urged all fans to arrive early at FedEx Field because of anticipated traffic and parking congestion. Getting in and out of the stadium, located off the Capital Beltway in Landover, has always been difficult for Redskins games.

President Barack Obama is expected to attend Saturday's Army-Navy game along with numerous other dignitaries. Army and Navy will both conduct pregame flyovers and parachute jumps as usual. Sweeney said the GWSA and the Redskins are leaving no stone unturned and no detail left unattended in order to show Army and Navy that D.C. deserves the game again.

"This is an iconic event, one of the truly marquee events in all of college sports," Sweeney said. "It is a real feather in the cap for D.C. to host the Army-Navy game. Holding this event is a huge accomplishment to have on our resume and very positive in terms of marketing and prestige."

Sweeney left no doubt the Greater Washington Sports Alliance will bid for Army-Navy again during the next cycle. Gladchuk said the two service academies will review the D.C. performance to ensure it meets the standards set by Philadelphia.

"The Request for Proposal is 30 pages long and includes all sorts of specifications and conditions," Gladchuk said. "Philly has always been the benchmark. Philly has this game down to a science and have been flawless in its execution" (Hometown Annapolis, 2011).

Title:
More Than Games Lie Ahead For Army-Navy Players
Date:
November 30, 2011
Source:
Wall Street Journal

Abstract: The fullback wearing the "standard dress blues" uniform will soon be a Navy SEAL. The linebacker nicknamed A-Rod in the "dress gray" uniform has returned from a back injury that had put his football career — and his plan to be an Army infantry officer — in jeopardy.

Wednesday's media day for 112th Army-Navy game was a reminder that this rivalry features players who will soon face dangers far greater than the triple option.

"When you recruit people here, and you're in people's homes, that's always in the back of your mind," Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo said. "Yeah, the education is second to none, there's great career opportunities and being able to provide for your families, but there's also a chance they might have to pay the ultimate sacrifice. They'll be in harm's way — that's a reality.

"So that's always on the back of your mind, but it really hits you after the last game, the finality of the last game."

For the time being, the focus is on football and pageantry as the academies prepare to meet Dec. 10 at the Washington Redskins stadium in Landover, Md., the first time the game has been staged in the vicinity of the nation's capital. The basic facts are there for all to see: Navy has won nine straight in the series; both teams emphasize the old-fashioned running game; neither Navy (4-7) or Army (3-8) is headed to a bowl game, although both sides say bowls can be anticlimactic.

"This game is way bigger than a bowl game," Navy team captain Alexander Teich said. "There's so much passion in this game. A bowl game is kind of a celebration. This game, this is how football's meant to be played."

Teich said he's one of only 28 seniors from his graduating class selected to become one of the SEALs, whose popularity spiked after the special operational force pulled off the raid that killed Osama bin Laden in Pakistan in May.

"The academy erupted," Teich said. "Everybody went out to the T-Court and had on all their Navy SEAL kind of stuff and American flags, and music was playing and everybody was loud and running through the streets of Annapolis.

"The big fact was that they got him. The next part was that it was involved with the Navy. A little school pride there."

Teich is a general science major who has run for 790 yards and a 4.7 average this season, involved in the thick of things in the triple option offense. And that's where he'll also be with the SEALs.

"I kind of always want to be leading from the front," he said. "They're the tip of the spear, the first ones into the fight, and that's kind of my mentality — I want to be the first one into that fight leading my men."

Andrew Rodriguez was Army's leading tackler in 2009, but he hurt his back lifting weights during the following offseason. He was diagnosed with herniated disks and spinal stenosis and had surgery. Coach Rich Ellerson said "it was unlikely he was going to be able to play again."

"I put a lot into the decision about whether I should continue playing and what I should do," Rodriguez said. "If the back goes, then you're not going to be able to fulfill your military obligations, so I struggled with that decision a lot."

But the rehab went better than expected. Despite missing the 2010 season, the mechanical engineering major was elected as a team captain this season and is third on the team in tackles. He's a finalist for the Campbell Trophy, the so-called "academic Heisman," awarded to the nation's top scholar athlete.

"A-Rod's one of the greatest men of character on the team," quarterback Max Jenkins said. "For somebody to miss an entire season and get elected team captain, that says something in itself. Anybody else who had to go through that kind of situation might not have come out on the winning side like he did."

Yet there's still one winning feeling Rodriguez has yet to experience.

"For the senior class, this is our last chance to beat Navy, and we're well aware of that," Rodriguez said. "I was talking a lot to the younger guys, it always seems like you're going to have more chances, but the time goes by so fast" (Wall Street Journal, 2011).

Nike Unveils Uniforms For 2011 Army-Navy Game
Date: September 14, 2011

Military Times

Abstract
: It looks like the execs at Nike headquarters didn’t take well to Maryland and Under Armor getting so much national exposure for the over-the-top uniforms worn by the Terrapins on Labor Day. On Tuesday, Nike released the uniforms that Army and Navy will be wearing for their annual December matchup  as part of the unveil of the Nike Pro Combat jersey.

YouTube-Video

Why Nike decided to unveil the uniforms four months before the game is beyond us. Maryland went to the lengths of warming up in one jersey before changing and then taking the field in those garish stunning state flag get-ups. Nike took away all the excitement. For shame.

Don’t worry all you curmudgeons who poo-pooed (we’re looking at you Lebron) the Maryland state flag design on the Terrapin jerseys. Other than an oversized anchor on the Navy helmets, there is nothing too outrageous about either design. In fact, it’s tough to tell much of a difference between the new Army jerseys from the old ones, which is too bad. Can you imagine all the hand wringing if Army steered away from tradition and did something like unveil a camouflage pattern? Oh wait, that already happened with predictable military reactions.

The real standout aspect of the uniform probably won’t be seen by folks who tune in Dec. 10 for their 112th Army-Navy game.

The Navy undershirts, featuring a snake representing the 13 colonies along with the script “Don’t Tread on Me” across the chest, is a highlight of the uniform package.

There is one question about the uniforms: Each of the videos promoting the uniforms features players putting their hands together with their gloves to make a symbol — an anchor for Navy and the Army logo for the Cadets. But if a player did this after scoring a touchdown wouldn’t that be a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty?

Let’s hope Army has a few reasons to make such a hand gesture and keeps this year’s game competitive after Navy’s run of dominance (Military Times, 2011).

Alleged Fort Dix Terrorists Considered Army - Navy Game Attack
Date: May 17, 2007
Source: AOL News

Abstract: Alleged homegrown jihadis arrested more than a week ago considered the Army-Navy football game - one of college football's biggest rivalries - a possible target for attack.

Court papers said one of the arrested, in a monitored phone conversation, rued a missed opportunity to strike at the Army-Navy football game at Lincoln Financial Field, only a few miles from the site of Wednesday's meeting.

"Hopefully they decided it's too hard of a target so we're not going to try it," said Leonard Bonacci, director of event services for the Philadelphia Eagles and who helps oversee security at the stadium.

Fortunately the appropriate authorities were alerted to the plotters before they staged their eventual planned attack on a New Jersey military base. News like this is a reminder that we live in an unsafe world and hopefully authorities can continue to provide appropriate security at college football games and all sporting events to deter such horrible events from ever happening (AOL News, 2011).

The Army-Navy Game (M*A*S*H)
Date: September 9, 1973
Source: Wikipedia

Abstract: "The Army–Navy Game" was episode twenty of the first season of the TV series M*A*S*H. It originally aired on February 25, 1973; its repeat on September 9, 1973 was the last official telecast in M*A*S*H 's first season on CBS.

On the day of the Army/Navy game, the unit finds itself under enemy attack. In addition to injury and some mild damage, they discover an undetonated bomb in the center of the camp. In order to defuse the bomb the characters are forced to deal with a variety of "joker"s from different branches of the military making suggestions about how to deal with the deadly missile. In a variety of scenes some of the characters act as if this is their last day on earth. Eventually the Navy calls back claiming the bomb belongs to the CIA. Hawkeye and Trapper are sent out to defuse the bomb with Henry reading instructions from a bunker. Due to a mix-up between Henry and Trapper they accidentally set off the bomb. As it turns out, all it does is fire propaganda leaflets into the air. The episode ends with Father Mulcahy winning the football pool, being the only person who bet on the Navy (Wikipedia, 2011).

2. OBAMA & MILITARY FOOTBALL
TRUTHER.ORG: Aside from hosting almost every major professional sports franchise and star athlete at the White House, U.S.

Abstract: President Barack Obama has congratulated the Air Force Academy football team for winning the Commander in Chief trophy, noting that they'll be taking it home to Colorado Springs, Colo., for the first time in eight years.

Obama presented the trophy during a ceremony Monday in the White House Rose Garden. Until this year, he said no one on the Air Force team knew what it felt like to defeat Army and Navy, come to the White House or claim football bragging rights over the other branches.

The trophy goes to the winner of a three-way season series between the major service academies. The Falcons defeated the Army and Navy teams last season. They last won the trophy in 2002 (Huffington Post, 2011).

And, lately, awarding the Commander-in-Chief trophy to the Navy football team.

Last season, Navy again beat both Army and Air Force to claim its seventh straight C-in-C trophy as the nation's best service academy team.

Seven years -- almost two full presidential terms.

"I do have to warn you that I consulted with the White House counsel," Obama told the team at the White House, "and according to the 22nd Amendment, you're only allowed to come back here one more time before it's somebody else's turn."

Obama also kidded quarterback Ricky Dobbs for saying he wants to run for president in 2040.

"I know people are announcing early these days," Obama said, "but, Ricky, that's a bit much."

The team presented the nation's 44th president with a Navy jersey -- number 44 -- as well as a ring commemorating the midshipmen's bowl win over Missouri. "That's a big ring," Obama said (USA Today, 2010).

Abstract: President Barack Obama is praising members of the Naval Academy football team, saying he is proud of their performance on the field and for their commitment to serve the country in coming years.

Obama on Tuesday welcomed Navy's football team to the White House and presented the Midshipmen the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy, awarded yearly to the winner of the competition among the three major service academies.

Obama praised the team's sixth straight trophy and noted players' frequent visits to the White House, saying that some of them know their way around the mansion better than he does.

Obama also joked that the team's unofficial motto — "no excuses; nobody cares" — is similar to first lady Michelle Obama's directions to the president (USA Today, 2009).

3. TERROR TARGET: U.S. MILITARY

TRUTHER.ORG: Since November 30, 2011, the U.S.

  1. More than 5 terror plots have been disrupted involving U.S. military insiders in the past decade and at least 11 or more cases involved veterans or those who attempted to join law enforcement and intelligence agencies. The likelihood of another deadly attack by a trusted insider is a severe and emerging threat, which the Pentagon is aggressively investigating to identify perpetrators;
  2. 2 successful attacks against the military outside of Afghanistan and Iraq were perpetrated by radicalized soldiers assigned to U.S.-based Army units: at Camp Pennsylvania in Kuwait in 2003 and at Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009;
  3. At least 16 external terror plots targeting military personnel stationed inside the U.S. Homeland have been disrupted or investigated;
  4. At least 9 other external plots were thwarted involving U.S. Persons in the homeland who traveled or planned trips overseas to kill G.I.s in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere;
  5. A growing number of terrorist threats are directed at families of military personnel. Particularly at risk are relatives of troops in units involved in counterterror operations (DHS, 2011).

Title: Military Growing Terrorist Target Lawmakers Warn
Date: December 7, 2011
Source: Fox News

Abstract: Sen. Susan Collins on Wednesday blasted the Defense Department for classifying the Fort Hood massacre as workplace violence and suggested political correctness is being placed above the security of the nation's Armed Forces at home.

During a joint session of the Senate and House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday, the Maine Republican referenced a letter from the Defense Department depicting the Fort Hood shootings as workplace violence. She criticized the Obama administration for failing to identify the threat as radical Islam.

Thirteen people were killed and dozens more wounded at Fort Hood in 2009, and the number of alleged plots targeting the military has grown significantly since then. Lawmakers said there have been 33 plots against the U.S. military since Sept. 11, 2001, and 70 percent of those threats have been since mid-2009.

The chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, Connecticut independent Sen. Joe Lieberman, said the military has become a "direct target of violent Islamist extremism" within the United States.

"The stark reality is that the American service member is increasingly in the terrorists' scope and not just overseas in a traditional war setting," Lieberman told Fox News before the start of Wednesday's hearing.

In June, two men allegedly plotted to attack a Seattle, Wash., military installation using guns and grenades. In July, Army Pvt. Naser Abdo was accused of planning a second attack on Fort Hood. And in November, New York police arrested Jose Pimentel, who alleged sought to kill service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Both Pimentel and Abdo allegedly drew inspiration from the American cleric Anwar al-Awlaki and the online jihadist magazine Inspire, which includes a spread on how to "Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom."

Rep. Peter King of New York, the Republican chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said military service members are "symbols of America's power, symbols of America's might."

"And if they (military personnel) can be killed, then that is a great propaganda victory for al Qaeda," King told Fox News.

The witnesses testifying before the joint session include Paul N. Stockton, assistant secretary of defense for homeland defense; Jim Stuteville, U.S. Army senior adviser for counterintelligence operations and liaison to the FBI; Lt. Col. Reid L. Sawyer, director of the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point, and Darius Long, whose son, Army Pvt. William Andrew Long, was shot and killed at an Arkansas military recruitment center in 2009.

A second private was also injured in the Arkansas attack. Both victims had just finished basic training and had not been deployed. They were outside the Arkansas recruitment center when the shooter opened fire from a passing truck. The shooter, Carlos Bledsoe, pleaded guilty to the crime earlier this year.

In a letter to the court, Bledsoe said he carried out the attack on behalf of al Qaeda in Yemen -- the group that was behind the last two major plots targeting the U.S. airline industry.

"My faith in government is diminished. It invents euphemisms ... Little Rock is a drive by and Fort Hood is just workplace violence. The truth is denied," Long testified.

King said the web is the driver of the new digital jihad.

"It enables people -- rather than having to travel to Afghanistan to learn about jihad or to be trained, they can do it right over the Internet," he said. "And this is a growing role."

And while al-Awlaki and his colleague Samir Khan, who was behind the magazine Inspire, were killed in a CIA-led operation in September, King warned against overconfidence that al Qaeda in Yemen was done.

"This is a definite short-term victory for us. There's no doubt they are going to regroup, that there will be others who will be providing Internet data, inspiration to jihadists in this country, instructions on how to make bombs," he said.

While King was heavily criticized, in some quarters, for launching his hearings 10 months ago on homegrown terrorism, the congressman said the joint session shows the threat is legitimate, and recognized as such by other members of Congress.

"To me it's a validation of what I've been trying to do all year," King emphasized. "There's a definite threat from Islamic radicalization in various parts of our society, including within the military, and we can't allow political correctness to keep us from exposing this threat for what it is" (Fox News, 2011).

Title:
Measuring The Homegrown Terrorist Threat To U.S. Military
Date: December 7, 2011
Source:
CNN

Abstract:  On Wednesday, the Senate and House homeland security committees held their first-ever joint hearing, on the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, to address what has become a familiar theme for both committees -- the threat from "homegrown" terrorists.

The hearing, chaired jointly by Sen. Joseph Lieberman, I-Connecticut, and Rep. Peter King, R-New York, examined the threat to "military communities" posed by domestic terrorism, a threat that Lieberman said last week "has increased dramatically" since 2006, when he held his first hearing on the subject.

Lieberman cited the attack, allegedly by U.S. Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, that killed 13 soldiers and civilians at Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009; the shooting death of a soldier outside an army recruiting station in Arkansas the same year; and a purported plot by Army Pfc. Naser Jason Abdo to attack soldiers near Fort Hood with explosives and firearms this year

So what is the actual threat to America's military from homegrown terrorists? The New America Foundation and the Maxwell School of Public Policy examined 192 cases of apparent homegrown terrorism by Islamist militants since 9/11. We found that the American military at home and abroad is indeed a target for Islamist extremist plots. In a third of the cases we studied, the individuals who were charged had targeted the U.S. military. Of those, a little under half targeted military facilities or personnel in the United States, while 55% were targeting American bases and troops overseas.

Additionally, attacks against military personnel have accounted for 14 of the 17 deaths attributed to jihadist terrorists in the United States since 9/11 (though all but one happened during the 2009 Fort Hood shooting). These deaths were all caused by gunfire, presumably because explosives are more difficult to acquire and build and often draw the attention of law enforcement.

American law enforcement is quite focused on the threat of attacks against U.S. military targets. A government informant or undercover government agent took part in the investigations of 60% of the jihadist terrorism cases directed at U.S. military targets.

While some of the anti-military plots were serious, in particular the deadly assault on Fort Hood, others were more aspirational than operational. Rezwan Ferdaus, for instance, is charged with hatching a harebrained plan to attack the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol earlier this year using remote-controlled model aircraft loaded with explosives. Ferdaus was snared by government informants who supplied him with the cash to take his "scouting trips" to scope out the targets, and even to buy the model planes that were to be used in the plot. He has pleaded not guilty.

And the FBI declined to investigate Jose Pimentel, a recent convert to Islam arrested by New York police last month on charges of trying to build pipe bombs for use against U.S. service members returning to the United States because, as an anonymous law enforcement official told the Wall Street Journal, "If the FBI declines a case, it's not a strong case.'

The desire of Islamist militants to attack the U.S. military may decline as the U.S. completes its withdrawal from Iraq this month and transitions away from combat operations toward a training mission in Afghanistan over the next two years.

New America and the Maxwell School also examined nonjihadist terrorist cases since 9/11 and found that while terrorists motivated by far right-wing or anti-government ideologies do not pose a threat to the U.S. military, they do pose a real threat to U.S. government personnel -- in particular to law enforcement.

We examined the 118 cases of right-wing and left-wing terrorism since 9/11 and found that more than 40% of them involved plans to strike government facilities and personnel, including federal and local law enforcement officers.

Police disrupted a number of such plots, such as the one allegedly organized by members of the "Hutaree" Christian militia last year in Michigan, who authorities said planned to kill a police officer and later ambush the funeral procession using explosives. During the investigation of the Hutaree group, law enforcement seized machine guns and a variety of explosives.

On Monday one of the nine accused of the Michigan plot pleaded guilty to weapons charges, the first to do so.

The guilty plea in the Michigan case underscores that while Islamist terrorists do pose a threat to U.S. service members, those with other types of extremist beliefs also pose a similar kind of threat to U.S. government officials and American law enforcement.

Terrorist threats against U.S. officials and police that have nothing to do with Islamist militancy are surely also worthy of the scrutiny of Congress, but neither the Senate nor House homeland security committee, nor it seems any other congressional committee, has examined the issue in any detail since 9/11 (CNN, 2011).

Title: Terrorists Said To Be Infiltrating Military
Date: December 7, 2011
Source: Washington Times

Abstract:
Al Qaeda and other terrorists are trying to infiltrate the U.S. armed forces, which makes military facilities in the U.S. dangerous for American troops, lawmakers said Wednesday.

“The Department of Defense considers the U.S. homeland the most dangerous place for a G.I. outside of foreign war zones — and the top threat they face here is from violent Islamist extremists,” Rep. Peter T. King, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said during a special joint House-Senate hearing.

Military officials testified about the homegrown terrorist threat at U.S. military bases in the wake of several attacks, including the November 2009 shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas. Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, 41, has been charged in the killing of 13 people and wounding of 29 others in the worst shootings ever to take place on an American military base.

“The Fort Hood attack was not an anomaly,” said Mr. King, New York Republican. “It was part of al Qaeda’s two-decade success at infiltrating the U.S. military for terrorism — an effort that is increasing in scope and threat.”

The Congressional Research Service has identified 54 homegrown terrorism plots and attacks since Sept. 11, 2001. Of those, 33 were directed against the U.S. military, said Sen. Joe Lieberman, chairman of the Senate Governmental Affairs and Homeland Security Committee.

“The American service member is increasingly in the terrorists’ scope and not just overseas in a traditional war setting,” said Mr. Lieberman, Connecticut independent.

The publicly disclosed plots and attacks by military insiders “represent the leading edge of al Qaeda’s ongoing effort to infiltrate the U.S. military and to recruit or radicalize vulnerable servicemen to commit future acts of terror,” according to a report published Wednesday by Mr. King’s staff.

There is “reason to believe that the actual number of radicalized troops is far more than publicly realized or acknowledged,” the report states.

Officials and lawmakers went into a closed session to discuss radicalized troops and other matters at the conclusion of the hearing.

After the Fort Hood shooting and a similar, attempted attack in 2010, the Pentagon has developed a series of “behavorial indicators” for radical motivations that troops will be encouraged to report if they detect them in their comrades, Paul N. Stockton, assistant secretary of defense for homeland defense, said at the joint hearing.

“Expressing sympathy or support for a violence-promoting organization, associating with terrorists, having a copy of [al Qaeda‘s] Inspire magazine on your desk — these are behavioral indicators that we apply to focus on the primary threat,” he said.

Mr. Stockton denied charges from several Republican lawmakers that the military’s approach is hamstrung by political correctness.

“We know who the adversary is. The primary threat is al Qaeda and its affiliates. And everything that we are doing in terms of primary focus of our efforts concentrates on that threat,” he said.

Asked repeatedly by Rep. Daniel E. Lungren, California Republican, about his refusal to use the word “Islamic” or “Islamist” when describing al Qaeda, Mr. Stockton said branding terrorists as Muslims plays into their narrative that the United States is at war with Islam.

“Sir, with great respect, I don’t believe it’s helpful to frame our adversary as ‘Islamic’ with any set of qualifiers that we might add, because we are not at war with Islam,” he said (Washinton Times, 2011).

Title:
Is Threat Of Home-Grown US Terror Suspects Overblown?
Date: December 6, 2011
Source:
Economic Times

Abstract: The threat of home-grown terror attacks remains a top US concern a decade after 9/11 amid a series of recent arrests, but some experts believe the problem is being over-blown.

Washington has made it a priority to track down "lone wolf" terror suspects who act alone without links or support from a wider group, such as the Al-Qaeda militant group which carried out the September 11, 2001 attacks in which almost 3,000 people were killed on US soil.

"The most likely scenario that we have to guard against right now ends up being more of a lone wolf operation than a large, well coordinated terrorist attack," said President Barack Obama earlier this year.

US Department of Justice spokesman Dean Boyd said several dozen suspected homegrown violent extremists have been arrested and charged in the United States since 2009.

"We have seen a dramatic increase of homegrown violent extremists, including US citizens and residents inspired by extremist ideology, plotting attacks against targets in the United States," he said.

In one of the most high-profile cases a US woman named Colleen LaRose, nicknamed "Jihad Jane," pleaded guilty this year to plotting attacks abroad.

The blonde American allegedly contacted foreign terrorists who recruited her to kill a Swedish cartoonist who had illustrated the Prophet Mohammed with a dog's body.

And then just weeks ago Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez, a 21 year-old from Idaho, was arrested for allegedly firing shots at the White House. He was charged with attempting to assassinate Obama.

But Michael German, a former FBI counterterrorism agent who handles national security issues at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), said the "lone wolf" threat may have been overstated.

"The numbers remain relatively small," said German, author of the book "Thinking Like a Terrorist."

"It's not a non-existent problem, but certainly not something new and growing," German told AFP.

At issue also is the use of informants and whether some of those eventually charged were drawn into schemes devised and laid out by US law enforcement agents, which were never going to be implemented.

Earlier this year Rezwan Ferdaus, 26, pleaded not guilty in a Massachusetts court to planning an aerial bomb attack against sites in Washington -- the latest in a string of US citizens caught through FBI sting operations.

If agents and informants are "involved providing the means to accomplish the plot and that obviously this person hasn't done anything prior the government's involvement, it's hard to know what this person would have done," said German.

"I am not sure that it counts as a terrorist if the government provides the means and the opportunity."

Since September 11, terror attacks have killed 17 people in isolated incidents in the United States, including 13 who died in a 2009 military base shooting.

The concept of US-grown lone attackers has gained growing traction since Army psychiatrist Nidal Malik Hassan opened fire in Fort Hood, Texas, amid allegations he had contacts with radical US-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaqi in Yemen.

"Although many of the recent plots may be smaller in scale than the 9/111 attacks, they can still prove extremely deadly as evidenced by the 2009 shootings at Fort Hood, Texas," Boyd said.

America was on heightened alert after the killing of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in May, and during the 10th anniversary of September 11.

But no attack came, highlighting for terrorism expert J.M. Berger the lack of organization by "lone wolf" terrorists (Economic Times, 2011).

Title: Lawmakers To Probe Homegrown Terror Threat To Military Installations
Date: November 30, 2011
Source: Examiner

Abstract: With the recent capture of a U.S. Army soldier -- Spc. Naser Jason Abdo --  who plotted a bomb attack on a U.S. military base,  U.S. Rep. Peter T. King (R-NY), Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, and Senator Joe Lieberman (ID-CT), Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee announced that on Wednesday, December 7, they will convene a joint investigative hearing to examine the homegrown terror threat to military communities.

The hearing -- “Homegrown Terrorism:  The Threat to Military Communities Inside the United States” -- will be the first-ever joint hearing convened by both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

"This critical hearing will follow the three prior hearings that I have convened to examine the serious threat of radicalization within the United States. Thus far, in a series of hearings, my Committee has examined the issue of radicalization within the Muslim-American community generally, focused on the problem of radicalization in U.S. prisons, and investigated the recruiting and radicalization perpetrated in the U.S. by the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Shabaab," said Rep. King.

When the Republican leadership on the House of Representatives's Committee on Homeland Security announced its intention to investigate homegrown Islamic terrorists, the left and some Muslim groups such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) accused Rep. King and others of being Islamophobic or worse.

However, a recent national poll reveals that 63% of Americans support the Congressman Peter King-led House Homeland Security Committee's radicalization hearings, while only 20% oppose the series of hearings.  King pointed to this Secure America Now poll when he was criticized for his committee's investigation.

King also said that Chairman Lieberman and Ranking Member Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) deserve great credit for their previous hearings examining the threat of domestic radicalization, as well as their investigation into and hearing on the deadly attack at Fort Hood.  I welcome their bipartisan cooperation as we move forward in examining this critical matter.

U.S. Army Major Nidal Hasan’s attack killing 13 and wounding 32 at Fort Hood, Private First Class Naser Jason Abdo’s plot to emulate Hasan, Carlos Bledsoe’s attack on a military recruiting center in Little Rock, and a number of other cases demonstrate the seriousness of this increasing terror threat to U.S. military communities, according to several homeland security experts.

"The brave men and women who volunteer to serve this country in combat zones overseas should not have to face the same dangerous threats here at home,” said King.

Meanwhile, Sen. Joe Lieberman stated, “Senator Collins and I have examined the phenomenon of homegrown terrorism and violent Islamist extremism since 2006 when we held the first of 13 hearings to examine this emerging threat. When we began our inquiry, just over a dozen homegrown terrorist plots had been uncovered and no one had been killed since 9/11."

I look forward to a deeper explanation of these trends and the development of a clear strategy to protect our military from terrorism here at home,” said Lieberman (Examiner, 2011).

4. MILITARY TERROR PLOTS & PATSIES

TRUTHER.ORG: Attacks on U.S. military personal and law enforcement started in 2009, but have increased in veracity over the last few months.

2. November 2009: Major Nidal Malik Hasan kills 12 and injures 31 in rampage at Fort Hood, Texas
3. October 2010: The Northern Virginia military shootings were a series of attacks targeting military facilities in October and November 2010.
4. June 2011: Two alleged Islamic extremists arrested for allegedly targeting a Seattle military processing center.
5. July 2011: Private Naser Jason Abdo, an AWOL soldier, is arrested for allegedly plotting a Fort Hood style attack.
6. October 2011: Michael D. McCright, who also goes by Mikhial Jihad, swerved at a government-owned sedan after noticing the uniform of the Marine staff sergeant driving the car.

Title:
Canadian Accused of Conspiring in Terror Case That Killed 5 U.S. Soldiers
Date: December 9, 2011
Source: Fox News

Abstract: A man in custody in Canada was indicted on Friday on U.S. charges that he helped coordinate Tunisian jihadists believed responsible for separate suicide attacks in Iraq in 2009 that killed five American soldiers outside a U.S. base and seven people at an Iraqi police complex.

Faruq Khalil Muhammad `Isa, a 38-year-old Canadian citizen and Iraqi national, was arrested in January on a U.S. warrant after an investigation by authorities in New York, Canada and Tunisia. Muhammad 'Isa is being held in Edmonton, Alberta, where he's fighting extradition to federal court in Brooklyn to face charges of conspiring to kill Americans and providing material support to terrorists.

Muhammad 'Isa never left Canada as part of the alleged conspiracy, and his attorney said Friday that the United States has no jurisdiction.

"All the evidence was gathered here," said the Edmonton lawyer, Bob Aloneissi, said in a phone interview. "There's just no tie. ... This should be done for a legal reason and not a political reason."

An extradition request made public Friday offered fresh details on wiretap evidence and an interview of Muhammad 'Isa that U.S. authorities claim link him to the terror network. Authorities say the group used a suicide bomber to detonate an explosives-laden truck outside the gate of the U.S. base in Mosul, Iraq, on April 10, 2009, killing the five soldiers, and it also staged a suicide bombing on the Iraqi police station on March 31, 2009.

The evidence shows that "the goal of the attacks was to compel the United States government to remove its armed forces from Iraq," the extradition request says.

A U.S. Department of Justice investigator interviewed Muhammad 'Isa on Jan. 19 with an FBI agent and a Royal Canadian Mounted Police corporal present, the request says. The interview "was conducted in compliance with United States law," with Muhammad 'Isa signing a waiver before voluntarily answering questions, it says.

During the interview, Muhammad 'Isa admitted he corresponded by email from Canada with two of the terrorists while they were in Syria, and knew that they were on a mission to kill Americans, the paperwork says. The documents allege he corresponded with "facilitators" who were trying to get the attackers into Iraq, and wired one of them $700.

On wiretaps, Muhammad 'Isa was overheard last year discussing with someone in Iraq how he used code words when discussing the Iraq operation, the papers say.

"For example, when I want to name the brothers, I say the farmers -- because they plant metal and harvest metal and flesh," the papers quote him as saying.

He also explained that he used the term "married" to mean "in the afterlife."

U.S. authorities alleged that the day after the attack that killed the five soldiers, Muhammad 'Isa asked in an electronic communication, "Did you hear about the huge incident yesterday? Is it known?" He also identified the bomber as "one of the Tunisian brothers," to which a facilitator responded, "Praise God."

Muhammad 'Isa told investigators in the interview that by "huge incident" he meant an explosion, the papers say.

The papers add: "When asked if he believed that it was a religious duty for Muslims to travel to Iraq and fight Americans, (Muhammad 'Isa) stated that he believed it was the duty for every Muslim who lived in Iraq to fight American 'invaders."'

The indictment comes at a time when Congress, over Obama administration objections, is pushing policies to ramp up the military's role in the handling of captured terrorism suspects. A House-passed bill would require military tribunals to try suspected terrorists. A Senate-passed bill would mandate military custody for those captured, even in the United States, and linked to Al Qaeda or its affiliates.

Members of the House and Senate are negotiating a final version of the bill that could include those provisions. They hope to complete their work by early next week.

If convicted in a civilian court, Muhammad 'Isa faces life in prison (Fox News, 2011).

Title: Officer Killed By Virginia Tech Gunman Was Veteran
Date:
December 9, 2011
Source:
Fox News

Abstract: Authorities investigating the deadly shooting Thursday at Virginia Tech say there is no apparent connection between the still-unidentified gunman -- who apparently took his own life -- and his victim, a 39-year-old campus police officer and father of five.

The male suspect shot and killed Virginia Tech police officer Deriek Crouse in a parking lot Thursday afternoon before killing himself with the same handgun about a half-mile away, school officials said during a press conference Friday.

Crouse was killed after pulling over a Virginia Tech student in a traffic stop at around 12:15 p.m. Authorities said the gunman -- who was not involved in the traffic stop -- walked into the parking lot adjacent to the Cassell Coliseum and ambushed the officer. Crouse was unable to return fire, according to officials.

Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller said authorities are "very confident" they know the identity of the shooter but are waiting to release his name until his next-of-kin is notified. They believe he acted alone.

Geller would not comment on whether the assailant had any known criminal record or history of mental illness.

She said the motive in the shooting is still under investigation. She also would not confirm reports that the shooter stole a vehicle in Ratford, Va., before driving to the Virginia Tech campus in Leesburg.

"We have not made an absolute connection that he stole the vehicle," Geller said.

Larry Hincker, Virginia Tech's associate vice president of university relations, confirmed that the suspect was not a student at the school.

The shooting took place on the same day Virginia Tech officials were in Washington, fighting a government fine over their alleged mishandling of the 2007 bloodbath where 33 people were killed in the deadliest shooting rampage in modern U.S. history.

Before it became clear that the gunman in Thursday's attack was dead, the school applied the lessons learned during the last tragedy, locking down the campus and using a high-tech alert system to warn students and faculty members to stay indoors.

Crouse was a US army veteran and father of five children and stepchildren who had served on the university's police force for four years.

Shortly after Crouse was shot, police found in a parking lot a man with a gunshot wound and a gun nearby. Authorities confirmed Friday that it was the same handgun used to kill Crouse (Fox News, 2011).

Title: Deputies: Man Found Heading To VA Clinic With Loaded AK-47
Date: December 7, 2011
Source:
ABC News

Abstract: A man was stopped by Carteret County deputies after they say the VA Clinic in Morehead City received threats that the man would "shoot the place up."

Deputies arrested Willie Holmes Austin, 63, of Cedar Island Tuesday in connection with making threats to the Veterans Services Office in Morehead City. The investigation began after the Sheriff’s Office received a call Tuesday morning from the Veterans Service’s Office regarding a man who identified himself as Willie Austin and had called the office and stated he was coming to “shoot the place up” with an AK-47.

Deputies immediately began searching for Austin and the vehicle he was traveling in. Sheriff’s Deputies and Morehead City Police stationed officers at the VA Clinic and the Veterans Services Office and began looking for Austin. Additional deputies traveled towards Cedar Island and located Austin in the Atlantic area in his vehicle. Deputies conducted a traffic stop of his vehicle on Old Cedar Island Road and took Austin into custody without incident. Deputies found Austin in possession of a loaded AK-47 and two fully loaded 30 round magazines on the front passenger seat of the car. Deputies subsequently searched his residence and seized a second AK-47, a 12 gauge shotgun and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition.

Austin is charged with one count of “Going Armed to the Terror of the Public” and one count of “Communicating Threats”. He is being held in the Carteret County Jail under a $15,000.00 bond and his next court appearance has been scheduled for January 30th (ABC News, 2011).

Hutaree Militia Defendant Pleads Guilty In Michigan
Date: December 5, 2011
Source: Reuters

Abstract: One of nine members of a Midwestern militia group that prosecutors have accused of plotting to kill police to spark a wider war against the U.S. government pleaded guilty on Monday to weapons charges, prosecutors said.

Joshua John Clough, 29, formerly of Blissfield Township, Michigan, was among nine members of a group called the Hutaree facing various federal charges in an indictment unsealed in March 2010 and added to later.

The indictment accused the group's members of planning to kill a police officer in Michigan and then ambush the funeral procession using explosives. Agents seized machineguns, unregistered short-barrel shotguns, ammunition and a variety of explosives and related materials.

Attorneys for the defendants have argued that secretly recorded group conversations reflected angry exercises of free speech rights and not plans to make war on the United States.

Clough is the first to plead guilty in the case.

Prosecutors said on Monday that Clough admitted to being a Hutaree member and that the group's goals included assembling and using explosives against local, state and federal law enforcement officers and their vehicles.

He also admitted that the group conducted military-style training in Lenawee County, Michigan, on weapons proficiency, patrolling and reconnaissance, prosecutors said.

Clough faces a mandatory five-year prison sentence based on his guilty plea.

A trial is scheduled to start on February 7 for the eight remaining co-defendants (Reuters, 2011).

Title: 'Lone Wolf' Terror Suspect Arrested In New York
Date:
November 20, 2011
Source:
CNN

Abstract: Authorities have arrested a man they claim was plotting to detonate pipe bombs in and around New York, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Sunday night.

The intended targets of Jose Pimentel, 27, were U.S. military personnel who had served in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as U.S. postal facilities and police in New York and Bayonne, New Jersey, according to Bloomberg and New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.

The suspect was described by Bloomberg as an "al Qaeda sympathizer," though he is not believed to have ever worked with or received training from anyone in that terrorist organization.

"There is no evidence he worked with anyone else," Bloomberg said. "He appears to be ... a lone wolf."

The police commissioner identified the suspect as a follower of Anwar al-Awlaki, a radical American-born cleric who rose to become a top figure in al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. Pimental allegedly tried to contact al-Awlaki directly, but never got a response.

An unemployed native of the Dominican Republican who is a U.S. citizen, Pimentel had lived most of his life in Manhattan, except for five years in Schenectady, New York. He'd had been monitored by authorities since 2009 and his extreme positions "made even some of his like-minded friends nervous," said Kelly.

The commissioner said that Pimentel even talked about changing his name to Osama Hussein -- in honor of his now deceased "heroes," long-time al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

Last August, the suspect allegedly decided to carry out the bomb plot. He "jacked up his speed" after September 30, when al-Awlaki was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Yemen, according to the police commissioner.

After that strike, al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula released a "eulogy" in which it promised to "retaliate soon" for the deaths of al-Awlaki and three others. That threat prompted the United States to issue a worldwide alert warning of such attacks.

"We knew for the last two years, he's been reading a lot of jihadist information and talked a lot of inflammatory rhetoric," Kelly said of Pimentel. "But it appears at this juncture the death of Anwar al-Awlaki motivated him and made him increase his tempo."

Pimentel bought ingredients for the three bombs that he was working to make at Home Depot and other stores, mindful to shop around so as not to "raise red flags," according to the commissioner (CNN, 2011).

FBI: Four Militia Members Plotted To Attack Buildings, Release Poison
Date: November 1, 2011
Source: MSNBC

Abstract
:
Four Georgia men in their 60s and 70s were arrested Tuesday, accused of being members of a right-wing militia group that plotted to attack federal office buildings and to disperse a deadly biological poison in Atlanta.

Their alleged plot was revealed to the FBI by a confidential informant last spring, and members of the group have been meeting since May with someone they thought was a black-market weapons dealer but who turned out to be an undercover federal agent, according to court documents.

No attacks were ever attempted. Federal officials say the men were disrupted before they could act on the plot.

The documents say the men, Frederick Thomas, 73, of Cleveland, Ga.; Dan Roberts, 67, Ray Adams, 65, and Samuel Crump, 68, all of Toccoa, called themselves "the covert group" and began in March to talk about staging attacks against federal targets including the IRS.

A confidential informant secretly recorded some of the meetings for the FBI.

"I'd say the first ones that need to die is the ones in the government buildings," Adams was overheard saying in an April 16 meeting, according to the FBI.

"When it comes down to it, I can kill somebody," he allegedly said (MSNBC, 2011).

Title: Attack On Marines Linked To Seattle Terror Plot
Date:
October 22, 2011
Source:
IPT News

Abstract: In what may be a new development in a June South Seattle terror plot, state prosecutors filed charges Tuesday against a longtime criminal in Washington state who attempted to run two Marines off the road, and who allegedly had contact with one of the terrorism suspects.

According to the charges, Michael D. McCright, who also goes by Mikhial Jihad, swerved at a government-owned sedan on July 12 after noticing the uniform of the Marine staff sergeant driving the car.

"His eyes widened and he appeared to become angry," the staff sergeant reported to the police.

McCright then quickly pulled in front of the sedan and jammed on his brakes in an effort to cause a collision. The second Marine in the car, a gunnery sergeant, managed to report McCright's license plate to the Washington State Patrol. Both Marines were uninjured in the incident.

The charges assert that McCright initially denied any involvement in the incident and avoided detectives until he was tracked down and arrested on Sept. 8 in Seattle.

Adding to the potential significance of the crime is evidence entered by prosecutors showing that McCright had been in contact with Abu Khalid Abdul-Latif, who is one of the two defendants charged with plotting to attack the South Seattle military processing station in June.

"Investigators have confirmed that the cell phone used by the defendant … was used on at least three occasions to contact Abdul-Latif prior to Latif's arrest by federal authorities," King County prosecutor Gary Ernsdorff said in court papers. "The FBI is continuing to investigate defendant McCright's possible connection to domestic terrorism."

The charges only assert that McCright's cell phone was used to contact Abdul-Latif, but the nature of their relationship has yet to be determined.

Abdul-Latif was arrested along with Los Angeles resident, Walli Mujahidh, several weeks before McCright's attempted attack on the Marines for allegedly plotting a suicide operation against a military induction and processing center. The two suspects planned to use automatic weapons and grenades to target recruits and Department of Defense employees working there. Both men are now in Federal custody and face life in prison if convicted.

McCright, charged with second-degree assault, also faces life in prison if convicted as a repeat "three strike" violent offender. He is expected to be arraigned on Sept. 27 (IPT News, 2011).

AWOL Soldier Arrested In What Police Say Was New Fort Hood Terror Plot
Date: July 28, 2011
Source:
Fox News

Abstract
: An Army private has been arrested in connection with an alleged plot to attack Fort Hood soldiers that authorities suggest was close to being carried out. The arrest, first reported by Fox News, comes nearly two years after a deadly shooting rampage at the base.

Pfc. Naser Jason Abdo, an AWOL soldier from Fort Campbell in Kentucky, was arrested by the Killeen, Texas, Police Department near Fort Hood and remains in custody at the Killeen jail.

Abdo, 21, was found with weapons, explosives and jihadist materials at the time of his arrest, a senior Army source confirms to Fox News. He was arrested at around 2 p.m. Wednesday after someone called authorities to report a suspicious individual.

Eric Vasys, a spokesman with the FBI's San Antonio Office, said authorities found firearms and bomb making components inside Abdo's motel room. Sources also say Abdo was attempting to make a purchase at Guns Galore in Killeen, the same ammunition store where Maj. Nidal Hasan purchased weapons that were allegedly used to gun down 13 people and wound 30 others at the base on Nov. 5, 2009.

Sources said Abdo had enough materials to make two bombs, including 18 pounds of sugar and six pounds of smokeless gunpowder -- a possible trigger for an explosive. A pressure cooker was also found. Another counterterrorism source said the bomb making materials and methodology came "straight out of Inspire (a terrorist magazine) and an Al Qaeda explosives course manual."

Killeen Police Chief Dennis Baldwin alluded to the severity of the threat at a news conference Thursday afternoon announcing the arrest.

"We we would probably be here today giving you a different briefing had he not been stopped," Baldwin said, and military personnel appeared to be the target.

ABC News reported, citing law enforcement documents, that the target wasn't the base itself but a nearby restaurant that is popular with personnel from Fort Hood.

Police in Killeen said their break in the case came from Guns Galore LLC -- the same gun store where Maj. Nidal Hasan bought a pistol used in the 2009 attack. Store clerk Greg Ebert said the man arrived by taxi Tuesday and bought 6 pounds of smokeless gunpowder, three boxes of shotgun ammunition and a magazine for a semi-automatic pistol.

Ebert said he called authorities because he and his co-workers "felt uncomfortable with his overall demeanor and the fact he didn't know what the hell he was buying."

According to an Army alert sent via email and obtained by The Associated Press, Killeen police learned from the taxi company that Abdo had been picked up from a local motel and had also visited an Army surplus store where he paid cash for a uniform bearing Fort Hood unit patches.

Bob Jenkins, a Fort Campbell spokesman, told Fox News that Abdo was also being investigated for child pornography found on his government computer.

Abdo went AWOL on July 4. On the eve of his first deployment to Afghanistan -- after only one year in the Army -- Abdo applied for conscientious objector status as a Muslim. It was denied by his superiors at Fort Campbell but later overturned by the Assistant Deputy Secretary of the Army review board.

Another source told Fox News that two other U.S. soldiers have been questioned as part of the investigation.

Abdo's Facebook page, which has since been taken down, showed that he traveled to New York City in September to attend an antiwar vigil and show support for Pfc. Bradley Manning, the alleged source for the classified war documents released by controversial group WikiLeaks.

Vasys said Abdo likely will be charged with being in possession of bomb-making materials. Killeen Chief Baldwin said the case would be referred for federal charges, though a Justice Department official would not confirm that.

In the 2009 shooting case, Maj. Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, was arraigned on July 20 and is currently standing trial. His civilian lawyer withdrew from the case as it began (Fox News, 2011).

Two Men Charged In Plot to Attack Seattle Military Processing Center
Date:
June 23, 2011
Source:
Department of Justice

Abstract: Two men were arrested late last night and are charged by criminal complaint with terrorism and firearms related charges.  The complaint alleges that Abu Khalid Abdul-Latif, aka Joseph Anthony Davis, 33, of Seattle, and Walli Mujahidh, aka Frederick Domingue, Jr., 32, of Los Angeles, took possession of machine guns that they purchased and planned to use in an attack on the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) located on East Marginal Way, Seattle.

Law enforcement has been monitoring Abdul-Latif and Mujahidh, including the weapons transaction, to prevent the attack and protect the public. Unbeknownst to the defendants, the weapons were rendered inoperable and posed no risk to the public. The defendants initially planned an attack on Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington State, but later changed targets. The defendants intended to carry out their attack with both grenades and machine guns.

“The complaint alleges these men intended to carry out a deadly attack against our military where they should be most safe, here at home,” said U.S. Attorney Jenny A. Durkan. “This is a sobering reminder of our need to be vigilant and that our first line of defense is the people who live in our community. We were able to disrupt the plot because someone stepped forward and reported it to authorities. I commend the joint efforts of the FBI, the Seattle Police Department, and the Joint Terrorism Task Force who quickly recognized the seriousness of the threat and ensured the safety of the community.”

Law enforcement first became aware of the potential threat when a citizen alerted them that he/she had been approached about participating in the attack and supplying firearms to the conspirators. The person then agreed to work with law enforcement, which began monitoring Abdul-Latif and Mujahidh.

Since early June the conspirators were captured on audio and videotape discussing a violent assault on the Military Entrance Processing Station. The MEPS is where each branch of the military screens and processes enlistees. In addition to housing many civilian and military employees, the building houses a federal daycare center.

“Driven by a violent, extreme ideology, these two young Americans are charged with plotting to murder men and women who were enlisting in the Armed Forces to serve and protect our country. This is one of a number of recent plots targeting our military here at home, ” said Todd Hinnen, Acting Assistant Attorney General for National Security. “The threat was averted by the combined efforts of the federal, state and local law enforcement officers that make up the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force.”

“The FBI remains committed to utilizing intelligence-based investigations to thwart would-be terrorists,” said Laura Laughlin, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Seattle Division. “This case epitomizes the value and capabilities of the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force concept as a means of preventing acts of terrorism.  But for the courage of the cooperating witness, and the efforts of multiple agencies working long and intense hours, the subjects might have been able to carry out their brutal plan.”

“This attack was foiled because of the trust and relationships the men and women of the Seattle Police Department enjoy with our community,” said Seattle Police Chief John Diaz. “The complainant felt safe approaching a Seattle Police Detective and, in doing so, ended the plot intended to take innocent lives. This cooperative investigation involving local, state, and federal partners worked exactly as intended.”

Abdul-Latif and Mujahidh are charged by complaint with conspiracy to murder officers and employees of the United States, conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction (grenades), and possession of firearms in furtherance of crimes of violence.   Abdul-Latif is also charged with two counts of illegal possession of firearms. The defendants will make their initial appearance on the complaint at 2:30 p.m. in front of Magistrate Judge Mary Alice Theiler, on the 12th floor of the federal courthouse at 700 Stewart Street, Seattle.

Both Abdul-Latif and Mujahidh face potential sentences of life in prison if convicted of the charges.

The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Washington, with assistance from the Counterterrorism Section of the Justice Department’s National Security Division. The investigation is being conducted by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, which has investigators from federal, state and local law enforcement. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives contributed significant expertise to this investigation.

The charges contained in the complaint are only allegations. A person is presumed innocent unless and until he or she is proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law (Department of Justice, 2011).

Title: Northern Virginia Military Shootings
Date: October 19, 2010
Source: Wikipedia

Abstract: The Northern Virginia military shootings were a series of attacks targeting military facilities at times when they were believed to be unoccupied during October and November 2010. Forensic examination of the bullets left at the various scenes confirmed that all of the shots were from the same rifle.

The first shooting was aimed at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Virginia on October 16, when bullets from a high-velocity rifle penetrated the atrium skylight. On October 19, 2010 shortly before 5 a.m., an unidentified gunman shot at the south side of The Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, shattering, but not penetrating windows on the third and fourth floors. The offices behind those windows were vacant due to renovations. The Pentagon Reservation was locked down as authorities swept the area for evidence, and the building was reopened about 5:40 a.m. The Joint Terrorism Task Force is leading the investigation into the incident. Then the shooter attacked the Marine Corps Museum again on October 29. The same rifle was used to attack a Marine Corps recruiting center in Chantilly, Virginia on October 26.

This series of attacks prompted the organizers of the October 31, 2010 Marine Corps Marathon to upgrade security precautions, which proceeded without incident. On November 3, authorities announced that the same rifle was used to shoot at a United States Coast Guard recruiting center in Woodbridge, Virginia on late November 1 or early November 2 (Wikipedia, 2011).

Army: Fort Hood Gunman in Custody After 12 Killed, 31 Injured In Rampage
Date:
November 6, 2009
Source:
Fox News

Abstract:
An Army psychiatrist who reportedly feared an impending war deployment is in custody as the sole suspect in a shooting rampage at Fort Hood in Texas that left 12 dead and 31 wounded, an Army official said Thursday night.

The gunman, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, first said to have been killed, was wounded but alive in a hospital under military guard, said Lt. Gen. Bob Cone at Fort Hood. He was shot four times, and was on a ventilator and unconscious, according to military officials. "I would say his death is not imminent," Cone said.

Two other soldiers who were taken into custody for questioning were later released, Cone said. A female first responder who shot at Hasan also survived, contrary to earlier reports that she had died.

The rampage was believed to be the deadliest at a U.S. military base in history.

Soldiers rushed to treat their injured colleagues by ripping their uniforms into makeshift bandages. Officials have not ruled out the possibility that some casualties may have been victims of "friendly fire," shot by authorities amid the mayhem and confusion at the scene, said a senior U.S. official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss matters that were under investigation.

Republican Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison said generals at Fort Hood told her that Hasan, a Virginia native and a Muslim, was about to deploy overseas. Retired Col. Terry Lee, who said he had worked with Hasan, told Fox News he was being sent to Afghanistan.

Lee said Hasan had hoped Obama would pull troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq and got into frequent arguments with others in the military who supported the wars.

Before Thursday's shooting, Hasan reportedly gave away all of his furniture along with copies of the Koran to neighbors, KXXV-TV reported.

Video from the scene showed police patrolling the area with handguns and rifles, ducking behind buildings for cover. Sirens could be heard wailing while a woman's voice on a public-address system urged people to take cover.

"I was confused and just shocked," said Spc. Jerry Richard, 27, who works at the center but was not on duty during the shooting. "Overseas you are ready for it. But here you can't even defend yourself."

Soldiers at Fort Hood don't carry weapons unless they are doing training exercises.

Federal law enforcement officials told the Associated Press that Hasan had come to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed homicide bombings and other threats. The officials said they are still trying to confirm that he was the author.

One of the Web postings that authorities reviewed is a blog that equates homicide bombers with a soldier throwing himself on a grenade to save the lives of his comrades.

"To say that this soldier committed suicide is inappropriate. Its more appropriate to say he is a brave hero that sacrificed his life for a more noble cause," said the Internet posting. "Scholars have paralled (sic) this to suicide bombers whose intention, by sacrificing their lives, is to help save Muslims by killing enemy soldiers."

They say an official investigation was not opened.

Hasan was working with soldiers at Darnall Army Medical Center on Fort Hood after being transferred in July from Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where he had worked for six years before recently receiving a poor review.

Cone said the shooter used two guns, including a semi-automatic weapon. He added there was no indication they were military weapons.

The shooting took place 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the post's Soldier Readiness Center, where soldiers undergo medical screening before being deployed or after returning from overseas.

"We have a terrible, tragic situation here," said Cone. "Soldiers, family members and the civilians that work here are absolutely devastated."

Cone said the injuries "vary significantly" among the victims wounded in the shooting.

The shooter's cousin, Nader Hasan, told Fox News that their family is in shock.

"We are trying to make sense of all this," Nader Hasan said. "He wasn't even someone who enjoyed going to the firing range."

He said his cousin, who was born and raised in Virginia and graduated from Virginia Tech University, turned against the wars after hearing the stories of those who came back from Afghanistan and Iraq.

Nader Hasan said his cousin, who was raised a Muslim, wanted to go into the military against his parent's wishes — but was taunted by others after the terror attacks of Sept. 11.

A former neighbor of Hasan's in Silver Spring, Md., told Fox News he lived there for two years with his brother and had the word "Allah" on the door.

She said the FBI interviewed her Thursday afternoon, adding she used to see a woman and a 3-year-old girl coming and going.

Authorities provided little information Thursday about the victims of the rampage at Fort Hood.

George Stratton's son, George Stratton III, was five feet away from the shooter at the Soldier Readiness Center and suffered a gunshot wound to his left shoulder.

"He said he was there doing medical stuff and all of a sudden someone came through the door, walked behind the desk and just started shooting," Stratton told FoxNews.com.

He said about 15 rounds went off and people started dropping to the floor.

"He peaked up over the desk and that's when he was shot in the shoulder, and he just went down again. He said he saw one of his NCOs get badly shot," Stratton told FoxNews.com after talking to his son in the hospital. "After he got shot he told me, 'Dad, I got up, held my arm and took off running.'"

Stratton said his son was expected to be deployed to Afghanistan in January after going to basic training exactly a year ago.

"It's pretty hard to believe something like this happened," Stratton told FoxNews.com. "I think he's probably had his fill of war already."

President Obama called the shooting a "horrific outburst of violence" on members of the nation's armed forces. "It is horrifying that they should come under fire at an army base on American soil," he said

Obama said his thoughts and prayers are with the wounded and families of the fallen.

A spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations said they don't know anything about Hasan, and condemned the shooting at Fort Hood.

The group issued a statement calling the shooting as a "cowardly attack." They say no political or religious ideology could ever justify or excuse such violence.

The base and area schools were on lockdown after the mass shooting, and all those on the Army post were asked to gather for a head count, thought the lockdown was lifted Thursday night.

Covering 339 square miles, Fort Hood is the largest active duty armored post in the United States. Home to about 52,000 troops as of earlier this year, the sprawling base is located halfway between Austin and Waco (Fox News, 2009).

Title: GI Killed At Recruiting Center Mourned
Date: June 8, 2009
Source: Military Times

Abstract: A white granite headstone will mark the grave of an Arkansas soldier shot to death outside a recruiting center. His family will decide whether the tombstone says Pvt. William Andrew Long was the first soldier to die at the hands of a terrorist since Sept. 11, 2001.

Mourners gathered Monday to remember Long, shot to death a week earlier outside a military recruiting center. A convert to Islam is charged with capital murder, and according to Little Rock police, targeted Army personnel “because of what they had done to Muslims in the past.”

Caretakers laid Long’s silver casket to rest alongside a Navy veteran of World War II, but how to chisel the private’s gravemarker will remain up to his parents — while federal prosecutors decide whether to press terrorism charges against his killer.

It appears Long was the first service member to die in the U.S. as a result of a terrorist attack since 9/11. Although others have perished during wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the Defense Department and a count by The Associated Press lists no domestic terror victims’ death in the more than seven years since.

“As bad as it is, people understand when a soldier is killed in combat in a war zone like Iraq or Afghanistan,” Gov. Mike Beebe said outside Harlan Park Baptist Church, where family held a funeral Monday for Long. “It’s a little different — shock I guess is the best way to say it — when one is killed right here at home; targeted because he had a uniform on.”

Daris Long, the private’s father, previously said he believed his son was a casualty of war. Long and his wife, Janet, will have the final say on what is etched into their son’s tombstone at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, said cemetery director Mitch Shelnut.

“It’s a unique situation,” Shelnut said.

At the funeral Monday morning, about 200 people sat as mourners remembered the 23-year-old, who lay in an open flag-draped coffin at the front of the sanctuary. Pastor John Harrington described him as sharp and gifted man with an infectious smile.

Long, known to his family as Andy, sought the right path for himself on his own, Harrington said. Long elected to serve in the Army like his brother, joining a family tradition of military service that extends back to his great-grandfather, the pastor said.

I “believe Andy found what he was seeking when he became a soldier,” Harrington said.

Long was due to ship out Monday to South Korea. During the service, Daris Long read a letter he’d planned to give to his son before his deployment.

Choking up at times, Long told his son to learn his skills quickly, as the chance remained that North Korea could invade South Korea.

“Your day only ends when you’ve done your duty,” the father said, tears in his eyes.

He placed the letter in the casket. His son was to have deployed on what turned out to be the day of his funeral.

William Long’s sister, Vanessa Rice, said she spent time with her brother the day before he was killed. They floated on the upper portion of the Buffalo National River in north Arkansas.

Rice said her brother made her pick between skydiving and the float trip.

“I told him I had to pass on that” skydiving, she said, laughing as she cried.

A procession of motorcycles led the hearse carrying Long’s body to the North Little Rock cemetery. There, Army Chaplain Jeremy Miller urged those there to cast aside thoughts of revenge, as God will have the “ultimate judgment.”

Miller also said Long, who was outside smoking a cigarette with Pvt. Quinton I. Ezeagwula at the time of the shooting, saved the lives of others inside the center. Ezeagwula was wounded, but survived.

“If he hadn’t been standing in the spot, things could have been worse,” Miller said.

In the distance, practice rifle fire could be heard from a nearby National Guard base.

Police arrested Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, 23, of Little Rock shortly after the shooting. Muhammad faces state charges of capital murder in Long’s death and 16 counts of committing a terroristic act by shooting a rifle in a crowded place. Federal prosecutors have yet to say whether they’ll seek additional charges against Muhammad.

Muhammad, who could be executed if convicted, pleaded not guilty to the charges. Little Rock District Judge Alice Lightle issued a gag order in his case Monday, after a prosecutor complained about Muhammad’s lawyer talking about how his client was tortured while imprisoned at a prison in Yemen. Yemeni officials denied the claim (Military Times, 2009).

Title:
Suspect In Shooting Near White House Arrested In Pennsylvania
Date:
November 16, 2011
Date:
Fox News

Abstract: The suspect wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred near the White House has been arrested in Pennsylvania, officials confirm.

The U.S. Secret Service said in a brief statement that Oscar Ortega-Hernandez was found by a Pennsylvania state trooper at a hotel near Indiana, Pa., shortly after noon on Wednesday. He is currently being held by the State Police.

The arrest comes as officials continue to investigate the incident, after discovering bullets at or near the White House.

According to a Secret Service statement earlier Wednesday, law enforcement found one bullet that smashed a window at the White House before being stopped by a second layer of "ballistic glass." Another round was found outside the White House. The Secret Service said the damage "has not been conclusively connected" to the shooting.

"An assessment of the exterior of the White House is ongoing," the Secret Service said.

Fox News has learned that the FBI joined the investigation on Tuesday at the request of the Secret Service and U.S. Park Police. The FBI has extensive expertise in evidence gathering, which could explain why the agency was called in to assist.

Law enforcement for days had been searching for the suspect, 21-year-old Ortega-Hernandez. The suspect has a record of arrests in Idaho, Utah and Texas, according to MyFoxDC, and reportedly is believed to be mentally ill.

Park Police originally obtained an arrest warrant for Ortega-Hernandez after discovering an AK-47-style rifle in an abandoned car Friday night. The car was found after Secret Service officers heard shots being fired between two vehicles about a half-mile from the White House.

U.S. Park Police spokesman Sgt. David Schlosser said Sunday that officers had obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect on a felony charge of carrying a dangerous weapon, in connection with the incident.

President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama were in California at the time of the shooting, before traveling to Hawaii for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum.

News of the bullets' discovery broke shortly after the president landed in Australia for a brief 27-hour visit (Fox News, 2011).

Title: Rezwan Ferdaus Arrested, Accused Of Plotting Attack On Pentagon, Capitol Using Exploding RC Planes
Date:
September 29, 2011
Source:
NY Daily News

Abstract: A Massachusetts man with a degree in physics was busted Wednesday for plotting to blow up the Pentagon and the US Capitol with homemade drones, officials said.

Rezwan Ferdaus, 26, planned to fill two remote-controlled model airplanes with C-4 explosives and hand grenades and direct them into the iconic Washington buildings, said US Attorney Carmen Ortiz.

The feds said he purchased the model airplanes, one a replica of a Navy F-4 Phantom jet with a Playboy logo on its tail, using the name of former Yankee great Dave Winfield.

Ferdaus was arrested Wednesday morning after he obtained 25-pounds of C-4 explosives, three grenades and six automatic AK-47 assault rifles from FBI agents posing as Al Qaeda operatives.

"The conduct alleged today shows that Mr. Ferdaus had long planned to commit violent acts against our country," Ortiz said. "Thanks to the diligence of the FBI and our many other law enforcement partners, that plan was thwarted."

Ferdaus had been under surveillance by the FBI since March.

The Northeastern University physics grad, an American citizen, had vowed to commit violent "jihad" against the United States as far back as early 2010, according to a federal complaint.

In one of several secretly recorded phone conversations, he claimed he targeted the Pentagon and US Capitol because he wanted to "severely disrupt ... the head and heart of the snake," according to the complaint.

Ferdaus of Ashland, Mass, went as far as obtaining cell phones modified to act as bomb detonating devices, the complaint charges. He provided the phones to the undercover FBI agents along with videotaped instructions on how to use them.

When told the phones were used to set off explosives in Iraq that killed three US soldiers and injured up to five others, Ferdaus said, "That was exactly what I wanted," according to the complaint.

"I want the public to understand that Mr. Ferdaus' conduct, as alleged in the complaint, is not reflective of a particular culture, community or religion," Ortiz said.

"In addition to protecting our citizens from the threats and violence alleged today, we also have an obligation to protect members of every community, race, and religion against violence and other unlawful conduct."

Ortiz said the public was never in danger because Ferdaus was being watched closely.

"Today's arrest was the culmination of an investigation forged through strong relationships among various Massachusetts law enforcement agencies to detect, deter, and prevent terrorism," said Richard DesLauriers, special agent in charge of the FBI's Boston office.

If convicted, Ferdaus faces up to 15 years in prison.

Rep. Peter King (R-L.I.), chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, praised the arrest of Fedaus, saying he had been briefed on the investigation over the last several months.

"The fact that Ferdaus is a very well-educated physicist should serve as a reminder to us that the threat of Islamic terrorism transcends socioeconomics and does not only emanate from the poor and under-privileged," King said.

"Ferdaus' arrest also underscores the need to continue efforts to combat domestic radicalization and the evolving threat of 'lone wolf' extremists" (NY Daily News, 2011).

Title: Feds Discover "Specific, Credible" Threat To D.C.
Date: September 8, 2011
Source: DCist

Abstract: Mayor Gray held a press conference around 10:30 p.m. this evening, stating that he had been briefed on "credible but unconfirmed threats" by Department of Homeland Security head Janet Napolitano.

Gray said that a 9/11 plan was already activated by the District's public safety team, and that the city had been in a "heightened state" of vigilance since September 1. MPD Chief Cathy Lanier said that the District's police force had begun preparations for the weekend eight months ago, and are "stepping up security in ways both visible and unseen." (Meanwhile, police in Arlington say that they are aware of the threat, but are not taking any specific action as of yet.)

The District is not planning on canceling any weekend events at this point; Metro officials have also been briefed on the situation, and service is not expected to experience interruptions.

In short: if you see anything suspicious over the next few days, you should contact 311 or 911, if a crime is in progress.

With the tenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks approaching, federal officials have uncovered what they are calling a "credible but unconfirmed terror threat" against both Washington and New York City. The threat could potentially involve car or truck bombs.

The official statement on the threat, from Matthew Chandler, spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security:

It's accurate that there is specific, credible but unconfirmed threat information. As we always do before important dates like the anniversary of 9/11, we will undoubtedly get more reporting in the coming days. Sometimes this reporting is credible and warrants intense focus, other times it lacks credibility and is highly unlikely to be reflective of real plots under way.

Regardless, we take all threat reporting seriously, and we have taken, and will continue to take, all steps necessary to mitigate any threats that arise. We continue to ask the American people to remain vigilant as we head into the weekend.

Chandler added that "intelligence gathered from the [bin Laden] raid" indicated that "Al Qaeda has shown an interest in important dates and anniversaries, such as 9/11." Earlier this evening, NBC's Pete Williams reported that the Metropolitan Police Department was informing police officers that they might be working longer shifts this weekend.

Unlike New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Mayor Vince Gray has not yet scheduled any kind of press briefing regarding the threat, though he is scheduled to attend a 9/11 remembrance tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. (DCist, 2011).

Northern Virginia Military Shootings

2010 Pentagon Shooting
Date: March 4, 2010
Source: Wikipedia

Abstract: On March 4, 2010, John Patrick Bedell shot two Pentagon police officers at a security checkpoint in the Pentagon station of the Washington Metro mass-transit system in Arlington County, Virginia, near Washington, D.C.. The officers returned fire striking him in the head. He died a few hours later on March 5.

The suit-clad gunman was wounded after firing upon and injuring two Pentagon police officers. The shooting occurred around 6:40 p.m. outside the Metro station entrance. As he neared the security checkpoint, Bedell reportedly appeared to be "pretty calm". When the officers asked for his credentials, "he drew a weapon from his pocket and started shooting". Joined by a third officer who came to their aid, the police defended themselves, mortally wounding their attacker.

The conflict was over in less than a minute. According to Chief Richard Keevill of the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, Bedell was armed with two 9mm semi-automatic firearms and had several loaded magazines. Authorities found more ammunition in his car, parked in a nearby parking garage.

The injured officers and Bedell were transported to George Washington University Hospital by units of the Arlington County Fire Department. The two injured officers, Jeffrey Amos and Marvin Carraway, were soon released from the hospital. One had a thigh wound, and the other had a shoulder wound. Both injuries were superficial (Wikipedia, 2011).

Abstract: A crowd sprayed with bullets in a drive-by shooting that killed four and wounded five had just returned from the funeral of a man slain nearby, and a 20-year-old is suspected in both shootings.

Two men and a 14-year-old boy accused of driving the minivan from which the bullets were fired were charged with first-degree murder in Tuesday night's shooting, the worst in D.C. in at least 16 years. One other person who was in the van was not caught, court documents said.

One of the suspects, Orlando Carter, also has been charged with second-degree murder in the March 22 death of Jordan Howe. On March 23, Carter was shot in the head and shoulder hours after his brother was charged in Howe's death, court documents said (MSNBC, 2010).

Title:
2010 State Of The Union Address: Joint Threat Assessment
Date:
January 25, 2010
Source:
DHS, FBI, US Capitol Police, U.S. Northern Command, National Counterterrorism Center, etc.

The city of Washington D.C. was specifically chosen as the city of the first ever known presidential "2010 State Of The Union Address : Joint Threat Assessment", which was issued by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, U.S. Northern Command, National Counterterrorism Center and a host of other intelligence agencies. Obama is scheduled to attend the Army vs. Navy game in Washington D.C. and may suffer an assassination attempt while watching the game.

Just as Super Bowl XLV on February 6, 2011, had its own Joint Threat Assessment memo from the U.S. government, so too does Washington D.C. and U.S. President Barack Obama. In reality, a Joint Threat Assessment nothing more than public premeditation, issued in writing, of the act of terror itself and are issued to gain plausible deniability whereby providing political cover if and when an act of terror is committed. After a terror attack, the government agencies who issue the memo can emphatically state that there was a known threat and that they issued the warning in response to the alleged known threat. In the case of the foiled Super Bowl XLV nuclear terror plot, the planned acts of terror were exposed in time to thwart the attack. Hopefully, the same result will be garnered in regards to the future assassination of Barack Obama.

1. "2010 State of the Union Address: Joint Threat Assessment": In the first ever know U.S. Presidential "Joint Threat Assessment", in which 8 of 10 pages are either missing or have been classified, the U.S. government emphatically states that Obama may be targeted for assassination.

A. Obama Specifically Named as Target: A host of U.S. government agencies and officials have put into writing that Obama is indeed a target for assassination. While this is highly suspicious in its own right, the fact that it was released for public consumption clearly shows that the government is prepping the pubic for an Obama assassination.

B. Lone Offender will attack Obama: As with the JFK, MLK, RFK, and the recent Norway Terror Attacks, a

"lone wolf" or "lone offender" will be scapegoated in the Obama assassination. A "lone" shooter is much easier to handle publicly, criminally and politically than a grand conspiracy. The propaganda groundwork for the "lone" Obama assassin has been fed to the American public via mainstream and alternative media outlets in an attempt to divert attention from the real conspirators.

C. 9/11 Truther Attacker: The "2010: State of the Union: Joint Threat Assessment", states that a Obama may be targeted by "Lone Offender" such as "9/11 Truther", in reference the alleged "9/11 Truther" shooter at the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C.

D. U.S. Military Veteran Assassin: The Joint Threat Assessment states that a Obama may  be targeted by "Lone Offender" such as a U.S. military. The memo states the following example of a U.S. military member committing a mass shooting: "In November, U.S. Army officer stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, allegedly opened fire on individuals at the instillation, killing 12 and wounding at least  31".

E. Target City: Washington D.C.: In all likelihood, the assassination of Obama will end America as we know it. With America in deep financial trouble, an Obama assassination would cause a mass panic globally with many investors pulling out of the unstable American environment. Washington D.C., the capitol of the United States of America, was chosen as the target of the public execution of a U.S. President in the Joint Threat Assessment more as a symbolic gesture, for when Obama dies, so too will America.

F. State of the Union: A Nationally Televised Event: The Joint Threat Assessment memo specifically chose the State of the Union as the event where Obama may be targeted. The State of the Union is a TV event that is
broadcast locally, nationally and internationally, and should Obama be assassinated, it will likely be on Live TV for the entire world to see. While the State of the Union may indeed be targeted, it is more likely that the assassination location would be outside rather than inside.

Holocaust Museum Shooting In Washington D.C.
Date: June 10, 2009
Source: Huffington Post

Abstract: An 88-year-old gunman with a violent and virulently anti-Semitic past opened fire with a rifle inside the crowded U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum...Washington Police Chief Cathy Lanier said the gunman was "engaged by security guards immediately after entering the door" with a rifle.

"The second he stepped into the building he began firing." Law enforcement officials said James W. von Brunn, a white supremacist, was under investigation in the shooting and that his car was found near the museum and tested for explosives. The weapon was a .22-caliber rifle, they added.

Von Brunn has a racist, anti-Semitic Web site and wrote a book titled "Kill the Best Gentiles," alleging a Jewish conspiracy...In 1983, he was convicted of attempting to kidnap members of the Federal Reserve Board and served more than six years in prison.

He was arrested two years earlier outside the room where the board was meeting, carrying a revolver, knife and sawed-off shotgun. At the time, police said von Brunn wanted to take the members hostage because of high interest rates and the nation's economic difficulties (Huffington Post, 2009).

Supreme Court Shoots Down D.C. Gun Ban
Date: June 28, 2008
Source:
ABC News

Abstract: The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that the District of Columbia cannot ban a citizen from keeping a handgun at home, throwing out one of the nation's strictest gun control laws.

Writing for the 5-4 majority, Justice Antonin Scalia said that the Constitution protects an individual's right to keep and carry a gun. The decision will affect gun control laws across the country.

"We hold that the District's ban on handgun possession in the home violated the Second Amendment, as does its prohibition against rendering any lawful firearm in the home operable for the purpose of immediate self-defense."

He addressed the "problem of handgun violence" by saying there are a "variety of tools" such as "measures regulating handguns" available. But he said that the "enshrinement of constitutional rights necessarily takes certain policy choices off the table," which includes measures such as an "absolute prohibition of handguns" (ABC News, 2008).

D.C. Sniper

Wikipedia

Abstract
: The Washington sniper attacks took place during three weeks in October 2002 in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Ten people were killed and three others critically injured in various locations throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area and along Interstate 95 in Virginia.
It was widely speculated that a single sniper was using the Capital Beltway for travel, possibly in a white van or truck.

It was later learned that the rampage was perpetrated by one man, John Allen Muhammad, and one minor, Lee Boyd Malvo, driving a blue 1990 Chevrolet Caprice sedan, and had apparently begun the month before with murders and robbery in Louisiana and Alabama, which had resulted in three deaths.

In September 2003, Muhammad was sentenced to death. One month later, Malvo was sentenced to six consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole. On November 10, 2009, Muhammad was executed by lethal injection (Wikipedia, 2011)

Title: Pentagon Terror Attack
Date: September 11, 2011
Source: Wikipedia

Abstract:
On September 11, 2001, The Pentagon's 60th birthday, a team of five al-Qaeda affiliated hijackers took control of American Airlines Flight 77, en route from Washington Dulles International Airport to Los Angeles International Airport, and deliberately crashed into the Western side of the Pentagon at 9:37 am EDT as part of the September 11 attacks. All 64 people on the airliner were killed as were 125 people who were in the building. The impact of the plane severely damaged the structure of the building and caused its partial collapse. At the time of the attacks, the Pentagon was under renovation and several offices were unoccupied, resulting in fewer casualties. Only 800 of 4,500 people who would have been in the area were there because of the work. Furthermore the area hit, on the side of the Heliport Entrance facade, was the section best prepared for such an attack. The renovation there, improvements which resulted from the Oklahoma City bombing, had nearly been completed (Wikipedia, 2011).

6. WARGAMES & TERROR DRILLS

TRUTHER.ORG: According to Fox News host Glenn Beck, the first ever activation of the Emergency Alert System on November 9, 2011, allows the U.S. government to "seize control" of communications, The activation of the EAS also comes at a time when major military drills such as Operation Mountain Guardian, Urban Shield, Operation Focused Lens, as well as drills specifically related to Washington D.C. entitled  Washington D.C.

Citywide Disaster Drill: On, September 28, 2011, the District of Columbia hosted a city-wide natural disaster exercise.

NORAD’s Falcon Virgo Exercise: On October 26, 2011, NORAD executed an exercise in the Washington D.C. area that simulated both military and civilian aircraft which were to “fly patterns about 1,000 feet above ground level”.

Disaster Drill Tests DC Area Emergency Responders
Date:
November 3, 2011
Source:
CNS Maryland

Abstract:  Thirteen hospitals and over 80 federal, state and local agencies in the Maryland-D.C. area were put to the test in a full-scale disaster drill Wednesday. The drill, Capital Shield 2012, was aimed at testing the region’s response to a mass casualty terrorist attack.

“This is a great opportunity for our paramedics, our EMTs, our firefighters to be able to practice patient triage assessment and transport but also for our hospitals to be able to receive a large amount of patients at any one given time,” Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief Scott Graham said.

The test began at the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Training Academy in Rockville where more than 50 mock victims were diagnosed on scene by first responders testing out a new tracking system.

The system, named the Real Time Locating System, is similar to a package or mail tracking system but instead tracks patients by their triage tag. The tag, which has information about the patient and their injuries, also has a barcode. First responders are equipped with hand-held devices to scan the barcode.

“The barcode allows us to match a name with the patient, a destination of the patient and the injuries that we observe in the field and that tag continues on with the patient through the patients experience through transport to the hospital,” said Graham.

The thirteen hospitals in Montgomery, Prince George’s, Calvert, St. Mary’s, and Charles County counties that participated in the drill were then sent the incoming patients’ information to laptop command centers to ensure victims were treated as efficiently as possible and were not mis-routed or forgotten.

During the drill, Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, which is one of the first hospitals in the US to have a military-federal-civilian hospital partnership, also received mock patients via military helicopter transport.

Cindy Notobartolo, Director of Emergency/Trauma, Safety & Security at Suburban stressed the importance of these drills. “We are considered part of the first receiver first responder networks so we have to be ready and we have to be here for our community” (CNS Maryland, 2011).

Title: D.C. Tests Emergency Prepardness In Citywide Drill
Date: September 28, 2011
Source: TBD

Abstract: The District of Columbia hosted a city-wide natural disaster exercise Wednesday. First responders and agencies trained for a scenario in which a Category 2 hurricane makes landfall in D.C.

Millicent West of D.C. homeland security said the scenario was not very likely, “but we wanted to make sure we made it something that could happen but a little more extreme. We wanted to push ourselves a bit.”

The simulated disaster will take place at RFK Stadium in southeast Washington. Inside the stadium, the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency, the Red Cross and the D.C. National Guard set up a simulated shelter.

“We don't want another superdome scenario to work itself out here. So we've worked out relationships with the downtown bid, the hotel association, the Verizon Center, the convention center, that if we do need to do a mega shelter that we don't have something like we did in New Orleans,” West said.

Dummy represented victims in a building collapse. D.C. firefighters used specially trained k-9s to find victims, as well as tools that can track heat and sound.

“We can listen and hear and try to triangulate where they might be,” explained Sgt. Christopher Holmes, a special operations firefighter.

While the exercise comes shortly after Hurricane Irene swept across the region, it’s been planned for a year.

Staff from the medical examiner's office set up a temporary morgue and the health department was responsible for an emergency animal shelter.

“Our role here is to complement the human sheltering side of things and to make sure that people know that if disaster happens, there's a place where they will be safe and where their pets will be safe,” Molly Lunaris of the health department said.

The exercise was meant to gauge the district's ability to give out bulk quantities of medicine and vaccinations, shelter and feed large quantities of people and successfully communicate through radio, among other capabilities.

The drill included agencies not traditionally involved in emergency preparedness, such as the Office on Aging, the Department of Corrections and staff that deal with non-English speaking residents. Additional drills are planned for spring and fall of 2012 (TBD, 2011).

U.S. Department of Homeland Security

Abstract: Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano announced new partnerships between the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) "If You See Something, Say Something™" public awareness campaign and several sports organizations and collegiate universities.  Partnerships include National Football League (NFL) teams, Major League Baseball (MLB) teams, the U.S. Open Tennis Championships (USTA), Ohio State University, and the University of Oklahoma.

"Every citizen plays a critical role in identifying and reporting suspicious activities and threats," said Secretary Napolitano. "By expanding the ‘If You See Something, Say Something™" campaign we are working together to ensure the safety and security of fans, players, employees, and students."

The "If You See Something, Say Something™" campaign -- originally implemented by New York City's Metropolitan Transportation Authority and now licensed to DHS for a nationwide campaign -- is a simple and effective program to engage the public and key frontline employees to identify and report indicators of terrorism, crime and other threats to the proper transportation and law enforcement authorities.

Over the past year, DHS has collaborated closely with federal, state, local and private sector partners, as well as the Department of Justice, to expand the "If You See Something, Say Something™" campaign and the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) Initiative—an administration effort to train state and local law enforcement to recognize behaviors and indicators related to terrorism, crime and other threats; standardize how those observations are documented and analyzed; and ensure the sharing of those reports with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)  led Joint Terrorism Task Forces for further investigation.

The "If You See Something, Say Something™" campaign originally partnered with the NFL in January 2011 during the Super Bowl XLVI, and is now expanding the campaign to the Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, and San Diego Chargers with digital and video materials displayed at each stadium.  Similarly, the "If You See Something, Say Something™" campaign partnerships with MLB began last season and has now expanded to the Chicago White Sox and the Baltimore Orioles.  The USTA has announced their partnership with the "If You See Something, Say Something™" campaign for a second year, and have displayed digital and print materials during all matches.

Other partnerships with the "If You See Something, Say Something™" campaign have been recently launched by the states of Florida and Maryland, the cities of Baltimore and Newark, the Inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix, and state and major urban area fusion centers across the country.

DHS will continue to expand the "If You See Something, Say Something™" campaign nationally to help America's business, communities and citizens remain vigilant and play an active role in keeping the country safe (U.S. Department of Homeland Security, 2011).

7. GENERAL TERROR WARNINGS

TRUTHER.ORG: Aside from the military plots and patsies, drills and war games, general terror warnings regarding planes and holiday terror have been issued by DHS and the FBI.

Abstract: Terrorists could decide to launch attacks during the holiday season but the United States has no evidence any plots are being planned, according to a federal law enforcement intelligence bulletin issued Wednesday.

The Department of Homeland Security and FBI joint notice to local law enforcement partners says federal officials "are not aware of any credible threats to the Homeland specifically timed to coincide with the 2011 holiday season. " CNN obtained a copy of the document, which goes on to say intelligence received in the last year suggests "terrorists recognize that the large gatherings occurring during the holiday season provide an opportunity for mass casualty attacks."

During the May raid that killed Osama bin Laden, information was retrieved saying that as recently as February of 2010 al Qaeda was considering the merits of launching U.S. attacks on holidays such as Christmas. But officials don't know if that idea was broadly shared with al Qaeda foot soldiers and, if so, whether they were receptive to the idea. Some al Qaeda affiliates were reported to be more interested in launching attacks in their local regions and less inclined to attack the U.S.

The bulletin reminds law enforcement officers the U.S. stopped an alleged plot last year to set off a vehicle bomb at a Christmas tree lighting in Portland, Oregon. Mohamed Osman Mohamud goes on trial next year and has pleaded not guilty to attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction. The DHS/FBI intelligence document says the Oregon incident is the first known plot by an alleged "homegrown violent extremist" that was planned to take place at a U.S. holiday event.

President Barack Obama and other officials have repeatedly said they are extremely concerned about so-called lone wolf offenders because their plots don't involve co-conspirators and are therefore extremely difficult to detect and stop. "We remain concerned that violent extremists could seek to conduct small-scale attacks during this year's holiday season," according to the DHS/FBI bulletin.

Officials warn that past al Qaeda propaganda has encouraged individuals to carry out terror strikes in their home countries involving simple improvised explosive devices or small arms. The intelligence document says such attacks "would not require overseas travel for training or communication with known terrorists."

The document advises local law enforcement to be vigilant and watch out for certain types of activity such as people buying commonly available chemicals that could be used to make bombs, or conducting surveillance of possible targets.

Federal authorities have issued warnings in the past about possible terrorist activity at holiday time. This year marks the first Thanksgiving and Christmas season since the death of bin Laden (CNN, 2011).

U.S. Warns On Small Planes, But Says No Plots Known
Date: September 4, 2011
Source: CNN

Abstract: U.S. officials say terrorists could try to use small aircraft in attacks, but have no specific information that such a plot is in the works, according to a new notice distributed by federal officials.

"Violent extremists with knowledge of general aviation and access to small planes pose a significant potential threat to the Homeland," according to an intelligence bulletin issued by the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI.

But according to the alert, U.S. officials "do not have current, credible information or intelligence of an imminent attack being planned against aviation" by al Qaeda or its affiliates.

In the alert, which was obtained by CNN, officials say as recently as early 2011, al Qaeda was considering options for targeting aviation "possibly believing such operations would have a greater impact than other types of attacks." Among the strategies al Qaeda members have discussed are using a private aircraft to carry explosives, finding a Western operative who could easily travel to the United States or Europe to get flight training or renting private planes for attacks, "believing supervision would be lax due to the large number of private aircraft."

The bulletin was issued to state and local law enforcement agencies on Friday, a little over a week before the 10th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington. Al Qaeda operatives killed nearly 3,000 people in those attacks by hijacking four commercial airliners and turning them into missiles, and some of the terrorists had received flight training in the United States.

Matthew Chandler, a spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security, said although there is no specific intelligence about a plot, alerts are regularly shared with law enforcement partners on "evolving tactics that could be used by violent extremists to carry out attacks against the United States." He noted al Qaeda and others have targeted aviation since the 1990s and persist in seeking aviation training.

Chandler said the bulletin is intended to "highlight the need for continued awareness and vigilance" (CNN, 2011).

LONE WOLF & HOMEGROWN TERROR WARNINGS

TRUTHER.ORG: The U.S. and Israeli government apparently know the inner workings of terrorism because they are all predicting the exact same thing: a "lone wolf" or "lone offender" will commit terror attacks upon America in the very near future.

Abstract: The White House today unveiled a new strategy to battle homegrown terrorism by fostering coordination between local authorities and teaching officials to better recognize violent extremism.

“Protecting our nation’s communities from violent extremist recruitment and radicalization is a top national security priority. It is an effort that requires creativity, diligence and commitment to our fundamental rights and principles,” read a report entitled, “Strategic Implementation Plan for Empowering Local Partners to Prevent Violent Extremism in the United States.”

The plan outlined enhanced coordination between local partners – including schools and community groups – and federal law enforcement, and sought to empower communities by teaching local officials to recognize violent extremism.

“Just as we engage and raise awareness to prevent gang violence, sexual offenses, school shootings and other acts of violence, so too must we ensure that our communities are empowered to recognize threats of violent extremism and understand the range of government and nongovernment resources that can help keep their families, friends and neighbors safe,” the report said (ABC News, 2011).

Napolitano: Lone Wolf Terror Threat Growing
Date:
December 2, 2011
Source:
CBS

Abstract:
U.S. Homeland Security Director Janet Napolitano said Friday that the risk of "lone wolf" attackers, with no ties to known extremist networks or grand conspiracies, is on the rise as the global terrorist threat has shifted.

Such risks, Napolitano said in an interview in Paris, heighten the need to keep dangerous travelers from reaching the United States, and she urged European partners to finalize a deal on sharing passenger data that has met resistance over privacy concerns.

Napolitano acknowledged shifts in the terror threat this year, but said the changes had little to do with the uprisings that have overturned the old order in countries around the Arab world and opened up new opportunities for extremist groups.

Asked about the greatest current threats to the United States, she said one from al Qaeda has morphed. "From a U.S. perspective, over the last several years we have had more attacks emanating from AQAP (al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula) than from core al Qaeda," she told The Associated Press.

"There's been a lot of evolution over the past three years," she said. "The thing that's most noticeable to me is the growth of the lone wolf," the single attacker who lives in the United States or elsewhere who is not part of a larger global conspiracy or network, she said.

She named no examples, but it's a phenomenon that is increasingly the focus of international anti-terror operations.

A former U.S. Army psychiatrist is the sole suspect in deadly shootings at Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009. In March, a Kosovo Albanian acting alone fatally shot two American airmen in Frankfurt, Germany. In April, a remote-control bomb exploded in a Marrakech cafe popular with tourists, killing 17 people, mostly foreigners — an attack devised by a Moroccan who was inspired by al Qaeda and tried unsuccessfully for years to join the international terror network before returning to Morocco to devise an attack of his own.

One threat that has remained constant, Napolitano stressed, is that of terrorists reaching U.S. territory. She said the agreement with the EU on sharing data on air passengers for flights from Europe to America is needed to "make sure these global networks and global systems that we all rely on remain safe."

She stressed that such data aided high-profile U.S. terrorist investigations in recent years, including that into Najibullah Zazi, who admitted plotting to bomb New York subways, and David Headley, who was involved in the 2008 Mumbai, India, terrorist attack.

The United States and European Union initialed a new agreement on Nov. 17 after a previous accord from 2007 had to be renegotiated because of changes in EU legislation, and amid criticism that it allowed U.S. authorities too much insight into the private data of EU citizens.

The new deal sets clear limits to what data can be used by U.S. authorities and for how long, and allows passengers to obtain access to their records to correct and delete them.

The accord must still be endorsed by the EU Council — the heads of state, expected to sign off easily later this month — and the European Parliament, where a small group of legislators remains opposed.

The U.S. effort won support Friday from France's interior minister, who acknowledged that Europe gets spillover benefits from the tough U.S. line on terrorism. Claude Gueant said the U.S. made concessions to European concerns about privacy and agreed to share some data with Europe.

"I think this is accord is really a win-win," he told reporters after meeting with Napolitano and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.

Napolitano and Holder were in Paris for a meeting with counterparts from the so-called G-6 countries: Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Spain (CBS, 2011).

Napolitano: 'Lone Wolf' Terrorists On The Rise, Most Difficult To Intercept
Date:
August 17, 2011
Source:
Fox News

Abstract: "Lone wolf" terror plots are on the rise and are "much more difficult to intercept" than the major coordinated effort that went into the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Wednesday.

In a speech at a Chamber of Commerce event, Napolitano said the U.S. has a "layered system of security that would give us multiple ways to deter" an attack like the one a decade ago in which airplanes were weaponized.

"What we see now is smaller plots," she said. "We are also seeing a rise of activities by individuals who are actually in the country, and they are acting by themselves and that kind of attack is the most difficult to prevent because there is nothing to intercept."

Napolitano's comments echoed what President Obama said in an interview Tuesday in discussing the 10-year anniversary of Sept. 11.

The FBI and Homeland Security sent a bulletin late Tuesday to local and state law enforcement agencies and obtained by Fox News that warns of potential lone wolf threats to the U.S., specifically "small arms operations."

The six-page document cites specific examples, including a July incident where a U.S. soldier is accused of plotting to attack Fort Hood with improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and guns. And the attack in Norway, where Anders Brevik, described as a right-wing extremist, car-bombed government buildings and opened fire on a camp, killing 69.

A Homeland Security official told Fox News that the bulletin is not driven by new intelligence, but the growing concern about lone wolf operations.

With the nation preparing to observe the 10th anniversary of hijacked airliners crashing in New York and Washington and in the Pennsylvania countryside, Obama said the government is in a state of heightened awareness.

"The biggest concern we have right now is not the launching of a major terrorist operation, although that risk is always there," the president said.

"The risk that we're especially concerned over right now is the lone wolf terrorist, somebody with a single weapon being able to carry out wide-scale massacres of the sort that we saw in Norway recently," he said. "You know, when you've got one person who is deranged or driven by a hateful ideology, they can do a lot of damage, and it's a lot harder to trace those lone wolf operators."

In Norway, Anders Behring Breivik, 32, was charged with killing 69 people last month at a youth camp. A lawyer for Breivik says his client believes the massacre was necessary to save Norway and Europe from Muslims and punish politicians who have embraced multiculturalism.

In recent years the U.S. has endured terror-linked attacks that authorities believe were carried out by a single person. In November 2009, 13 people were killed at Fort Hood, Texas, in a shooting that led to charges against an Army psychiatrist who authorities allege had become an Islamic extremist.

A botched car bomb in New York's Times Square in 2010 and a Dec. 25, 2009, attempt to bring down a U.S.-bound jetliner with a bomb also were tied by authorities to one person in each instance.

In the CNN interview, Obama said the government continues to monitor and gather information about potential terror plots, even though Al Qaeda's capabilities have been degraded. Al Qaeda leader Usama bin Laden was killed by Navy SEALs during a raid in Pakistan last May.

Asked if Americans do not have to worry about a nuclear or radiological attack or some other "spectacular" event, Obama said: "Look, as president of the United States, I worry about all of it.

But I think the most likely scenario that we have to guard against right now ends up being more of a lone wolf operation than a large, well-coordinated terrorist attack. We still have to stay on top of it, though, and we're never letting our guard down. That's part of our job" (Fox News, 2011).

Welcome To The Era Of The 'Lone Wolf'
Date:
July 28, 2011
Source:
Fox News

Abstract: Last December, I met with senior Swedish officials, including a cabinet minister, over security concerns related to the safety of the Jewish community. Truth be told, I didn’t make much progress. It was explained to me that authorities have a list of about 800 extremists, roughly divided between Islamist militants and far-right neo-Nazis. Subtext: We have the situation in our country under control. “Was Taimur Abdulwahab al-Abdaly on your list,” I asked.

The answer was no.

Authorities were apparently clueless about the radicalized Iraqi-born Swedish citizen who blew himself up prematurely in the heart of Stockholm, just yards away from hundreds of Christmas shoppers.

Sweden dodged a bullet that day, but Norway had no such luck.

In the wake of the carnage carried out by Andres Behring Breivik, authorities expressed shock he had escaped their scrutiny, since they had long-since infiltrated extremist groups.

Welcome to the era of the leaderless, "Lone Wolf."

"Lone Wolf," or leaderless resistance, probably traces back to anarchists of the late 19th century but re-emerged a quarter of a century ago in the United States when, in reaction to the government's successful infiltration of violent groups like The Order,  ex-klansman Louis Beam urged like-minded, anti-government extremists to re-form into small, untraceable cells.

That strategy has been deployed across America’s political and social spectrum: from radical environmentalists and animal rights protesters, to extreme anti-abortion activists, to Oklahoma City bomber Tim McVeigh, and neo-Nazi types.

In 1999, one of them, white supremacist Buford O. Furrow, Jr., went on a lone wolf terror rampage in Los Angeles, shooting up a day camp at a Jewish community center and murdering a Filipino-American postal worker.

The ultimate “lone wolf,” of course, was Unabomber Ted Kaczynski. Indeed, Andres Beivik ripped off parts of the Unabomber’s writings in his 1,500-page cut-and-paste manifesto.

But there are profound differences between the ultimate loner, Kaczynski, and Breivik. The self-appointed latter day Templar was quite social and gained empowerment and validation from like-minded bigots while evading police scrutiny. How? The Internet.

Intelligence and police agencies in the UK and the U.S. already have their hands full with Al Qaeda's decentralized Internet-based recruitment of individuals or small groups, who act without central direction. Deadly examples include the 7/7 London bombers and Colonel Hassan, the perpetrator of the Fort Hood Massacre.

And now the attacks in Norway.

There is, for now, no neo-Nazi guru of terror equivalent to Sheik al-Awlaki, but there is a significant subculture of hate pre-positioned to validate and inspire bigots like Breivik.

Take, for example, the Swedish Nazi web forum Nordisk (Nordic) that Breivik has been an active member of since 2009. Some members have called for political terrorism and bomb attacks on government buildings.

According to the anti-Nazi group EXPO, the common denominator of the Nordisk Forum online community is a hatred for immigrants and a multicultural Europe.  Discussions went way beyond pseudo-intellectual posturing. “The Turner Diaries,” the book labeled “the terrorist bible” that inspired the Oklahoma City bombing (using a fertilizer-based bomb) was also promoted in the Forum.

And in March 2010, EXPO reported the anonymous posting:

"Cars parked by a large building carrying fertilizer and gasoline can make a nice explosion. The skyscrapers will come down like the twin towers of the World Trade Center. We are not talking about killing people. We hope the buildings will be empty, but if they aren't, that will be unfortunate ... I don't understand why people are not aware that we must wage war. Leading politicians in the government, who live at a remove from the threat that immigrants pose, have decided they can come here to live with us in our society. They are misusing what our ancestors built here. In my opinion, nothing you could do to those creatures would be immoral."

Breivik appears to have used the full spectrum of the Internet. The Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang reports that Breivik has posted at least 75 Islamophobic and racist commentaries on Facebook.

"When will multiculturalism stop being an ideology designed to disintegrate European culture, identity, nation states and traditions?" Breivik demanded.

Authorities are combing through Breivik’s property and belongings to try to ascertain how he learned to build so powerful a bomb. In fact, you don’t have to go far beyond YOUTUBE, which boasts dozens of how-to videos instructing the uninitiated about converting a cellphone into a detonator and other practical tips to blow up a watermelon or your neighbor.

So while bowing our heads in prayer for the innocents and innocence lost in Norway, we all need to come to grips with the growing threat of digitally inspired lone wolves. Hate may be as old as Cain and Abel, but the combination of hate and technology presents a new threat we have yet to fully fathom, let alone thwart (Fox News, 2011).

Napolitano: Domestic Terrorists Central To Threat
Date: July 21, 2011
Source:
Fox News

Abstract: The killing of Usama Bin Laden in May by Navy SEALS may have damaged the al Qaeda organization in Pakistan and Afghanistan, but the terror group’s franchise in Yemen, its American-born leader Anwar al-Awlaki and homegrown threats are the next wave of terrorism, according to a new government report.

Nearly a decade after the Sept. 11 terror attacks, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Bin Laden was only part of the story.
“Terrorism didn't begin with him and hasn’t ended with him and we have all these other groups in addition to core al Qaeda,” Napolitano said of Bin Laden in an interview with Fox News.

Napolitano’s comments come on the heels of a new Department of Homeland Security progress report that examines whether the 9/11 Commission’s recommendations are being implemented. The 9/11 Commission was a bipartisan, independent study group created in the wake of the 2001 terror attacks to account for what happened and to find ways to prevent the next attack.

The new DHS progress report shows that homegrown terrorism is central to the emerging threat picture.

Recent Justice Department documents show a case of homegrown terrorism with links to an international group have popped up every two to three weeks since January 2009. Just last week, a 22-year-old Pennsylvania man was accused of using the Internet to encourage domestic attacks by jihadists.

“We cannot presume that a threat would come at us from abroad, so the whole notion of violent extremism happening within our shores is very different,” Napolitano said.

She also confirmed that plots have been disrupted without the public's knowledge, but wouldn’t say how many. “There have been many plots that have been interfered with over time, yes,” Napolitano said.

The new report claims information sharing has been expanded since 9/11 and a multilayered approach to airline security has been adopted. Intelligence is used more broadly to identify high-risk passengers and cargo before they enter the U.S. The agency contends those measures could lead to less-invasive screening in the future.

“What is called divestment,” Napolitano said. “[A]ll the things you have to take off as you go through the (airport) gate - we'll be able to relieve some of those restrictions over time.”

But Napolitano says cyber-security remains a weakness.

“We are still somewhat new at it,” she said. “It's so rapidly developing and changing so rapidly that almost by the time to talk about a particular virus, or piece of malware it's already anachronistic, it's already out of date.

The former chairman and vice chairman of the 9/11 Commission said in a statement the Department of Homeland Security had made progress in the time since the terror attacks, but gaps still exist, and the nation is not as safe as it could be. They pointed specifically to the communications of first responders.

Fox News National Correspondent Catherine Herridge contributed to this report (Fox News, 2011).

New Counterterrorism Strategy Unveiled By White House Official
Date: June 29, 2011
Source: Huffington Post

Abstract: President Barack Obama's top adviser on homeland security unveiled a new national strategy for counterterrorism Tuesday, formalizing actions taken over the past two and a half years.

The strategy also lays out a vision for U.S. operations going forward given the death of Osama bin Laden and the changing political climate across the Middle East.

Al Qaeda, "its affiliates and its adherents" will be the main focus of operations, said John Brennan, deputy national security adviser for homeland security and counterterrorism.

"This is the first counterterrorism strategy that focuses on the ability of al Qaeda and its network to inspire people in the United States to attack us from within," he said in a speech at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies.

"Indeed, this is the first counterterrorism strategy that designates the homeland as a primary area of emphasis in our counterterrorism efforts" (Huffington Post, 2011).

Abstract: Although this Strategy focuses predominantly on the al-Qa‘ida linked and inspired threats, we also need to maintain careful scrutiny of a range of foreign and domestic groups and individuals assessed as posing potential terrorist threats, including those who operate and undertake activities in the United States in furtherance of their overseas agendas.

And even as the core of al-Qa‘ida in Pakistan and Afghanistan continues to be dismantled through our systematic CT actions, we have expanded our focus in this Strategy to articulate the specific approaches we must take to counter al-Qa‘ida affiliates and adherents on the periphery, be they established affiliated groups in Yemen or Somalia or individual adherents in the Homeland who may be mobilized to violence in al-Qa‘ida’s name (U.S. Department of Homeland Security, 2011)

Abstract: (U//FOUO) Lone Wolves and Small Terrorist Cells

(U//FOUO) DHS/I&A assesses that lone wolves and small terrorist cells embracing violent rightwing extremist ideology are the most dangerous domestic terrorism threat in the United States. Information from law enforcement and nongovernmental organizations indicates lone wolves and small terrorist cells have shown intent—and, in some cases, the capability—to commit violent acts.

U//LES) DHS/I&A has concluded that white supremacist lone wolves pose the most significant domestic terrorist threat because of their low profile and autonomy—separate from any formalized group—which hampers warning efforts.

(U//FOUO) Similarly, recent state and municipal law enforcement reporting has warned of the dangers of rightwing extremists embracing the tactics of “leaderless resistance” and of lone wolves carrying out acts of violence.

(U//FOUO) Arrests in the past several years of radical militia members in Alabama, Arkansas, and Pennsylvania on firearms, explosives, and other related violations indicates the emergence of small, well-armed extremist groups in some rural areas (U.S. Department of Homeland Security, 2009).

9. TERROR SCAPEGOAT PAKISTAN

TRUTHER.ORG: The Pakistani Government, its ISI, Osama bin Laden (who was killed in Pakistan), and alleged terrorists groups within Pakistan have allegedly plotted, financed or executed almost every single act of terror against the West on record for the last 20 years.

Considering that the Pakistani President has been in hospital, a military coup by alleged Islamic extremists may be in the works.

Title: Pakistani President In Hospital For 2 More Days
Date: December 9, 2011
Source: AJC

Abstract: A member of Pakistan's ruling party says President Asif Ali Zardari will remain in a Dubai hospital for at least two more days after undergoing tests for a heart condition.

Rashid Chughtai, of the Dubai branch of the Pakistan People's Party, said Friday that Zardari is in stable condition. He is in contact with Zardari aides in Dubai.

Zardari's trip to Dubai earlier this week set off rumors the president was stepping down. The government denied the rumors.

Zardari has been under pressure since Pakistan's ambassador to the U.S. was forced to resign over allegations he sent a memo to Washington asking for its help in reining in Pakistan's powerful military.

Pakistani officials have said Zardari traveled to Dubai for tests on his heart after experiencing pain in his arm (AJC, 2011).

Pakistan To Redefine Terms Of Cooperation With US, NATO: Gilani
Date: December 9, 2011
Source: Associated Press of Pakistan

Abstract: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Friday said Pakistan is reassessing its relations with the United States, NATO and ISAF to redefine terms of cooperation with them. Talking to newsmen here at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), he said there were ups and downs in Pakistan-US relations.

The Prime Minister visited PIMS to meet with patients who successfully underwent cataract surgeries conducted by a team of Chinese surgeons under a programme ‘Bright Light Tour’.

Gilani said Pakistan really wants to improve its relations with the United States.

To a question about NATO attack on Pakistani security forces, he said the matter was referred to the Parliamentary Committee on National Security to formulate recommendations to reassess relations with US, NATO and ISAF.

“We are also holding an inquiry into the incident,” he added.

The recommendations will be presented to a joint sitting of parliament, which will revisit and redefine terms of cooperation with the US and NATO forces in future, he added.

Gilani said the project of cataract surgeries was the vision of Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao who announced it during his visit to Pakistan early this year to mark 60 years of Pak-China friendship.

The two countries are true friends and their relations are time tested and all weather, he said adding the project will be a milestone in enhancing ties of the two countries.

The Chinese surgeons started free of charge operations on Wednesday on patients to restore their vision. The medical team consisting of China’s best ophthalmologists came from Beijing’s TongRen Hospital which had a record of 100 percent success in restoring vision in cataract patients.

During the visit, the Prime Minister was briefed by PIMS Executive Director Prof Mehmood Jamal about the cataract surgeries.

The Prime Minister was introduced to the Chinese medical team and he visited the male and female wards, where he talked to patients belonging to Haripur, Attock, Jhelum, Gojar Khan, Bajaur, Mansehra and Azad Kashmir, whose visions were restored.

The treatment of patients entails implanting of lenses through laser technology and they are also given Rs. 2500 after the treatment, said the hospital management.

The Prime Minister was impressed by the quality of eye treatment by highly qualified Chinese doctors with state of the art technology.

Chinese surgeons will conduct 1,000 cataract surgeries in Pakistan in two years. In the first phase 500 surgeries will be performed, 250 each in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad and Nishter Hospital, Multan.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Liu Jian accompanied the Prime Minister (Associated Press of Pakistan, 2011).

Al Qaeda Leader Claims Responsibility For Capture Of American
Date: December 2, 2011
Source: CNN

Abstract: Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri has claimed responsibility for the capture in August of a 70-year-old U.S. citizen in Pakistan, according to a number of radical websites known for carrying militants' messages.

In the eighth episode of a series called "A Message of hope and glad tidings to our people in Egypt," the speaker sent a "message of support and encouragement" to members of al Qaeda and the Taliban as well as to "our female oppressed prisoners."

"We did not forget you and we will not forget you, God willing, and therefore in order to release you, we have been successful, thanks to God almighty, to capture an American Jew called Warren Weinstein," he said.

He described the captive as "a former employee and a current contractor working with the U.S. government in its aid program to Pakistan, which aims to fight the jihad in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and just like the Americans arrest any suspect linked to al Qaeda and the Taliban, even if they were far related."

The speaker then listed eight demands that he said, if met, would result in Weinstein's release. They included the lifting of the blockade on movement of people and trade between Egypt and Gaza; an end to bombing by the United States and its allies in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia and Gaza; the release of anyone arrested on charges of belonging to al Qaeda and the Taliban; the release of all prisoners in Guantanamo and American secret prisons and the closure of Guantanamo and the other prisons; the release of terrorists convicted in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center; and the release of relatives of Osama bin Laden, the founder of al Qaeda who was killed in May in Pakistan.

The speaker said Weinstein's fate lies with U.S. President Barack Obama. "I warn you of Obama's lies and deceit because he hopes that this man gets killed so he doesn't have to worry about his problem. Obama is a liar. He lies, lies and will lie. He may say to you, 'I sought the release of your relative but al Qaeda got stubborn,' so do not believe him. And he may say to you, 'I tried to contact them, but they did not answer,' so do not believe him. He may tell you, 'I do everything in my power to release your relative,' but again do not believe him."

He urged Weinstein's relatives to pressure Obama to accede to his demands "if you want to bring back your relative."

A U.S. official said the circumstances surrounding Weinstein's disappearance have been murky, but added, "It's entirely possible that al Qaeda or one of its militant allies may be holding Mr. Weinstein and the statement by Zawahiri supports this conclusion."

The official said that, based on the materials found in the raid on Osama bin Laden's compound, al Qaeda's involvement with a kidnapping would not be surprising. "The documents from bin Laden's hideout show his frustrated deputies were considering kidnapping and other criminal enterprises as a means of striking from their weakened state," said the official, pointing to the terrorist groups' failure to conduct big attacks against Western targets.

Reached Thursday at her home in Rockville, Maryland, Weinstein's wife, Elaine, said, "I just found out myself two minutes ago when somebody told me. I have nothing to add and no information for you."

Weinstein was abducted from his home in Lahore on August 13. As his three security guards prepared for the meal before the Ramadan fast, three men knocked at the front gate and offered food for the meal -- a traditional practice among Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan, Lahore police said.

Once the gate was opened, the three men forced their way in, while five others entered the house from the back, tied up the guards and duct-taped their mouths, according to police. They pistol-whipped the driver and forced him to take them to Weinstein's room, where they hit Weinstein on the head with a pistol and forced him out of the house and into a waiting car, police said.

A police official said August 23 that three suspects had been arrested in Weinstein's kidnapping.

Weinstein works for J.E. Austin Associates Inc., a consulting firm based in Arlington, Virginia. He is a development expert, according to the company's website. The company did not immediately respond to a call and an e-mail seeking reaction (CNN, 2011).

Title: Pakistan Military Ordered To Return Fire If Attacked By Nato Forces
Date: December 2, 2011
Source: Guardian

Abstract: Pakistan's military commanders have ordered their troops to return fire if they come under attack from Nato forces, raising the prospect of further deadly clashes along the country's border with Afghanistan.

General Ashfaq Kayani, Pakistan's army chief, gave the new order in response to the recent deaths of 24 soldiers when their border posts came under fire from Nato helicopters.

Kayani is under immense pressure from within his own ranks over the two-hour bombardment by the helicopters of an ally, to which the Pakistani air force did not respond. The incident piled further humiliation on a military still stung by the US special forces operation in May that killed Osama bin Laden deep inside Pakistan.

"I want to emphasise and leave no ambiguity in the rules of engagement for everyone down the chain of command," Kayani said in a letter to his troops.

"When under attack, you have full liberty of action to respond with all capabilities at your disposal. This will require no clearance at any level.

"I have very clearly directed that any act of aggression will be responded to with full force, regardless of the cost and consequences."

The communique, issued in Urdu, will be read out by local commanders to their soldiers.

Kayani also said that the air force did not respond to the Nato attack "due to breakdown of communication with the affected posts".

The move effectively transforms the role of more than 100,000 Pakistan troops deployed along its western border from counterinsurgency to border protection duty.

The Nato attack happened on the border between the Afghan province of Kunar and the Mohmand part of Pakistan's tribal area. The border posts were 300 metres inside Pakistani territory.

Pakistan claims the attack was "unprovoked" and continued even after it alerted Nato to the fact that its post was coming under fire.

US officials have claimed a combined Afghan and US special forces squad operating close to the border came under fire from suspected militants on the Pakistani side, and that they responded by calling in air support.

But a senior Pakistani military officer said US officials supplied the wrong co-ordinates for the proposed strike, and then launched the attack "without getting clearance from the Pakistani side".

"It was an unprovoked and indiscriminate attack by US helicopters and fighter jets," he said.

He denied an account by American officials, carried in Friday's Wall Street Journal, that they had checked the location with Pakistan first and the fatal strike had been given the go-ahead.

An investigation by the US military is under way.

In retaliation for the incident, Pakistan has blocked the transit of Nato supplies through its territory, ended the US use of an airbase and is boycotting next week's high-level international meeting on Afghanistan in Bonn.

Pakistan's co-operation is considered vital to stabilising Afghanistan and pushing the Taliban into peace talks (Guardian, 2011).

Title: CIA Ordered To Halt Drone Operations By Pakistan
Date: November 28, 2011
Source: Sydney Morning Herald

Abstract: The Pakistani government has responded to NATO air strikes that killed at least 25 soldiers by ordering the CIA to vacate the drone operations it runs from Shamsi Air Base in northern Pakistan and closing the two main NATO supply routes into Afghanistan.

Pakistani officials said that NATO aircraft hit two military posts at the northwestern border with Afghanistan. The country's supreme army commander called the attacks unprovoked acts of aggression.

The CIA was given just 15 days to stop its drone operations. Among the two NATO supply routes into Afghanistan shut by the government was the one at Torkham. NATO forces receive about 40 per cent of their supplies through that crossing, which runs through the Khyber Pass. Pakistani officials gave no estimate as to how long the routes would be shut down.

In Washington, US officials were scrambling to assess what had happened amid preliminary reports that allied forces in Afghanistan engaged in a firefight along the border with insurgents and called in airstrikes. Senior Obama administration officials were also weighing the implications on a relationship that took a sharp turn for the worse after a Navy SEAL commando raid killed Osama bin Laden near Islamabad in May, and that has deteriorated since then.

"Senior US civilian and military officials have been in touch with their Pakistani counterparts from Islamabad, Kabul and Washington to express our condolences, our desire to work together to determine what took place and our commitment to the US-Pakistan partnership," said Caitlin Hayden, a spokeswoman for the National Security Council.

General John R Allen, the commander of the NATO-led forces in Afghanistan, offered condolences and promised an investigation. "This incident has my highest personal attention and my commitment to thoroughly investigate it to determine the facts," he said in a statement.

The strikes, which Pakistani officials said had involved both helicopters and fighter jets, took place at two military posts in Salala, a village in Pakistan's Mohmand tribal region near the border with Kunar province in Afghanistan. At least 40 soldiers were deployed at the posts, which according to Pakistani officials were established to repulse attacks by Afghan militants and the Taliban. Pakistani military officials said NATO aircraft had penetrated roughly 2.4 kilometres into Pakistan to make the strikes.

What remained unclear was what prompted the airstrikes and whether they were unprovoked or resulted from a communications mishap. A NATO spokesman, Brigadier General Carsten Jacobson, offered details suggesting that allied and Afghan troops operating near the border came under fire from unknown enemies and summoned coalition warplanes for help.

"In the early night hours of this morning (Saturday, local time), a force consisting of Afghan forces and coalition forces, in the eastern border area where the Durand Line [the colonial boundary between Pakistan and Afghanistan] is not always 100-per cent clear, got involved in a firefight," Jacobson said, according to a transcript of his statements on NATO TV.

"Air force was called in into this activity and we have to look into this situation of what actually happened on the ground."

But several US and allied military, diplomatic and intelligence officials said it was unclear what threat, real or perceived, led to the airstrikes or why the allied aircraft fired on the Pakistani troops. "It's real murky right now," one senior US official said. "Clearly, something went very wrong."

Such cross-border attacks have been at the heart of an increasingly hostile relationship between Pakistani and US officials. The US has demanded that Pakistan do more to stop militants based in its territory, particularly from the feared Haqqani faction and al-Qaida, from crossing into Afghanistan to attack US forces. And US forces in eastern Afghanistan say they have taken more mortar and rocket fire from positions at or near active Pakistani military posts in recent months.

Pakistani officials have been enraged by the raid on bin Laden's compound and by repeated US drone strikes against militants in the northwestern tribal regions, which they consider breaches of the country's sovereignty.

The Pakistani military said its top commander, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, praised troops at the border checkpoints for responding "in self-defense to NATO/ISAF's aggression with all available weapons", though there was no confirmation by NATO or US officials of return fire (Sydney Morning Herald, 2011).

Title: Pakistan Closes Afghan Border Crossing To NATO Claiming They Attacked Army Checkpoint
Date: November 26, 2011
Source: Fox News

Abstract: Pakistan on Saturday accused NATO helicopters of firing on an army checkpoint in the northwest and killing 25 soldiers, then closed a key border crossing used by the coalition to supply its troops in neighboring Afghanistan.

The alleged Friday night attack was a major blow to already strained relations between Pakistan and U.S.-led forces fighting in Afghanistan.

In a statement sent to reporters, the Pakistan military blamed NATO for Friday's attack in the Mohmand tribal area, saying the helicopters "carried out unprovoked and indiscriminate firing."

The International Security Assistance Force says it is investigating the incident.

"This incident has my highest personal attention and my commitment to thoroughly investigate it to determine the facts," said General John R. Allen, commander of the International Security Assistance Force. "My most sincere and personal heartfelt condolences go out to the families and loved ones of any members of Pakistan Security Forces who may have been killed or injured."

The U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter also promised to investigate the incident.

"I have seen press accounts of an incident on the Pakistani-Afghan border in which Pakistani soldiers were reportedly killed," Munter said in a statement. "I regret the loss of life of any Pakistani servicemen, and pledge that the United States will work closely with Pakistan to investigate this incident."

Pakistan state TV said the helicopters killed 25 Pakistani soldiers. Two government officials in Mohmand confirmed the death toll and said 14 other soldiers were wounded.

The helicopters attacked the checkpoint twice, and two officers were among the dead, said a government official in Mohmand and a security official in Peshawar, the main city in Pakistan's northwest.

The officials all spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.

The governor of Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province criticized the incident, calling it "an attack on Pakistani sovereignty."

A Pakistani customs official told The Associated Press that he received verbal orders Saturday to stop all NATO supplies from crossing the border through Torkham in either direction. A transporter who runs a terminal at the border where NATO trucks park before they cross confirmed the closure. They spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.

The incident came a little over a year after U.S. helicopters accidentally killed two Pakistani soldiers near the Afghan border, whom the pilots mistook for insurgents. Pakistan responded by closing the Torkham border crossing to NATO supplies -- as it did Saturday -- for 10 days until the U.S. apologized.

In a press release, the ISAF said  its leadership remains committed to improving security relations with Pakistan, including coordination of operations along border regions in their united fight against terrorism.

Torkham runs through the famed Khyber Pass and is the main crossing to Afghanistan from Pakistan, the country through which NATO ships about 30 percent of the non-lethal supplies used by its Afghan-based forces.

The checkpoint that was attacked had been recently set up in Mohmand's Salala village by the army to stop Pakistani Taliban militants holed up in Afghanistan from crossing the border and staging attacks, said two local government administrators, Maqsood Hasan and Hamid Khan.

The military has blamed Pakistani Taliban militants and their allies for killing dozens of security forces in such cross-border attacks since the summer. Pakistan has criticized Afghan and foreign forces for not doing enough to stop the attacks, which it says have originated from the eastern Afghan provinces of Kunar and Nuristan. The U.S. has largely pulled out of these provinces, leaving the militants in effective control of many areas along the border.

The Afghan-Pakistan border is a constant flashpoint, with both nations and the U.S. exchanging accusations of violations and of negligence in preventing cross-border attacks. The border is disputed in many areas and not clearly marked, adding to the difficulty.

The U.S. and Afghan governments have long accused Pakistan of not doing enough to prevent its territory from being used by Afghan Taliban militants and their allies to stage attacks against forces in Afghanistan.

The Afghan government blamed Pakistan for firing hundreds of rockets into eastern Afghanistan earlier this year that killed dozens of people. The Pakistan army has denied it intentionally fired rockets into Afghanistan, but acknowledged that several rounds fired at militants conducting cross-border attacks may have landed over the border.

The Afghan and Pakistani Taliban are allies but have largely focused their attacks on opposite sides of the border. The Afghan Taliban aims to topple the U.S.-allied government in Kabul, and the Pakistani Taliban has tried to do the same in Islamabad.

Frustration about cross-border attacks in both directions has contributed to deteriorating ties between the U.S. and Pakistan. The relationship took an especially hard hit from the covert U.S. commando raid that killed Osama bin Laden in a Pakistani garrison town on May 2. The Pakistanis were outraged that they were not told about the operation beforehand, and now are angered even more than before by U.S. violations of the country's sovereignty.

The U.S. helicopter attack that killed two Pakistani soldiers on Sept. 30 of last year took place south of Mohmand in the Kurram tribal area. A joint U.S.-Pakistan investigation found that Pakistani soldiers fired at the two U.S. helicopters prior to the attack, a move the investigation team said was likely meant to notify the aircraft of their presence after they passed into Pakistani airspace several times.

Pakistan moved swiftly after the attack to close Torkham to NATO. Suspected militants took advantage of the impasse to launch attacks against stranded or rerouted trucks carrying NATO supplies.

Senior U.S. diplomatic and military officials eventually apologized for the attack, saying it could have been prevented with greater coordination between the U.S. and Pakistan. Pakistan responded by reopening the border crossing (Fox News, 2011).

Title: Pakistan Orders US To Vacate Airbase
Date: November 26, 2011
Source: Press TV

Abstract: Islamabad on Saturday ordered Washington to vacate Shamsi, which is a remote desert outpost in southwest Pakistan.

The airbase was reportedly used as a hub for covert CIA drone strikes. Pakistan had previously told the United States to leave the site in June.

The new order to vacate came after a US-led NATO airstrike killed at least 24 Pakistani soldiers and wounded 15 others in the Mohmand Agency in northwestern Pakistan early on Saturday.

Pakistan also ordered a review of all arrangements with the US and NATO, including diplomatic, political, military and intelligence activities, AFP reported.

The decision was taken at an extraordinary meeting of senior cabinet ministers and military service chiefs chaired by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, who strongly condemned the strike.

Islamabad also summoned US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter to lodge a strong complaint regarding the unprovoked attack.

Activists with Islami Jamiat Tulba, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami party, staged a protest in the northwestern city of Lahore to denounce the killings of soldiers.

NATO confirmed that the attack has left some Pakistani soldiers dead and has launched an investigation into the incident.

In a retaliatory move, the Pakistani government has blocked dozens of trucks carrying goods and fuel supplies for NATO forces in Afghanistan.

Pakistan has repeatedly condemned airstrikes against its troops near the border with Afghanistan. While the strikes supposedly target militants, they usually claim the lives of civilians and Pakistani soldiers (Press TV, 2011).

Title: Pakistan Outrage After 'Nato Attack Kills Soldiers'
Date: November 26, 2011
Source: BBC

Abstract: The "unprovoked and indiscriminate" attack took place in Mohmand tribal region, the Pakistani military said.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani called it "outrageous" and convened an emergency meeting of the cabinet.

Nato's force in Afghanistan is investigating and has offered condolences to the affected families.

The night-time attack took place at the Salala checkpoint, about 1.5 miles (2.5 km) from the Afghan border, at around 02:00 local time (21:00 GMT).

A statement from the Pakistani army said 24 people were killed and 13 were injured.

Prime Minister Gilani cut short a visit to his hometown to return to Islamabad, where he called an emergency meeting of the cabinet.

A foreign ministry statement said he was taking up the matter with Nato and the US "in the strongest terms".

Within hours of the alleged attack it was reported Pakistan had closed the border crossing for supplies bound for Nato forces in Afghanistan - a move which has been used in the past as a protest.

The BBC's Syed Shoaib Hasan in Karachi says furious Pakistani officials insist there was no militant activity in the area at the time.

The incident looks set to deal a fresh blow to US-Pakistan relations, which had only just begun to recover following a unilateral US raid that killed Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan in May.

'Unacceptable aggression'

A senior Pakistani military officer told Reuters news agency that efforts were under way to transport the bodies of the dead soldiers to Mohmand's main town of Ghalanai.

"The latest attack by Nato forces on our post will have serious repercussions as they without any reasons attacked on our post and killed soldiers asleep," he said, requesting anonymity because he was not authorised to talk to the media.

The Pakistani army said in a statement that two border posts had been attacked by helicopters and fighter aircraft. It said Pakistani troops fired back as best they could.

It said the Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani had strongly condemned the "blatant and unacceptable act", and demanded "strong and urgent action be taken against those responsible for this aggression".

In a statement, Isaf commander Gen John R Allen said the incident "has my highest personal attention and my commitment to thoroughly investigate it to determine the facts".

"My most sincere and personal heartfelt condolences go out to the families and loved ones of any members of Pakistan Security Forces who may have been killed or injured."

In apparent response to the attack, lorries and fuel tankers were being stopped at Jamrud town in the Khyber tribal region near the city of Peshawar, officials and local media said - part of a key route supplying Nato equipment to Afghanistan.

"We have halted the supplies and some 40 tankers and trucks have been returned from the check post in Jamrud," Mutahir Zeb, a senior government official, told Reuters.

Pakistani troops are involved in fighting the Taliban in the crucial border region area. Hundreds of militants have been resisting attempts by the security forces to clear them from southern and south-eastern parts of the district.

Anti-militant operation

The checkpoint at the centre of this latest incident was set up to prevent insurgents crossing over the border into Afghanistan, our correspondent says.

He says the movement of insurgents from the area into Afghanistan has been a concern for the Nato-led Isaf and the US.

The US has been targeting militants in Pakistan's tribal areas near the Afghan border for several months, often using unmanned drone aircraft.

Last year, US helicopters accidentally killed two Pakistani soldiers near the border, also prompting Pakistan to temporarily close the border to Nato supplies.

In October, Pakistan's army chief Ashfaq Kayani warned the US against taking unilateral action in nearby North Waziristan.

He said that the US should focus on stabilising Afghanistan instead of pushing Pakistan to attack militant groups in the crucial border region.

Washington has for many years urged Islamabad to deal with militants in the area (BBC, 2011).

Title: Pakistani Arrested By FBI Created Video For Lashkar-E-Taiba, Trained In Camps
Date: September 3, 2011
Source:
The Long War Journal

Abstract: A Pakistani man who trained at Lashkar-e-Taiba's terror camps has been arrested in the US on charges of producing propaganda for the terror group. The Long War Journal has obtained a copy of the propaganda video, which is published above.

Jubair Ahmad, a Pakistani man who moved to Virginia in 2007, was charged on Sept. 1 and arrested by the FBI for providing material support to a terrorist group. He produced the tape at the behest of the son of the overall leader of the Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Jubair, who was born in Sialkot in Pakistan's Punjab province, joined the Lashkar-e-Taiba, or LeT, when he was a teenager, according to the FBI affidavit. He admitted to the FBI that he attended three LeT camps.

The first camp attended by Jubair was Dora Suffa, "where he received instruction in religious dogma and proselytizing," the FBI stated. Afterward, "he attended LeT's basic training camp known as Dora A'ama, where he received additional religious indoctrination, physical conditioning, and weapons instruction." According to Jubair, students at Dora A'ama "listen to lectures, offer your prayers, exercise, study guns, fire them." He also said that "where I got training from they do the commando training there now." Then, at the third camp, which is known as Dora Khasa, he attended LeT's "commando course." An instructor turned him away after one week as he was too young, Jubair claimed.

Jubair and his family were issued visas in October 2006 because "his father was related to a US citizen," the FBI stated. Jubair entered the US in February 2007 with his father, mother, and two younger brothers. "His current immigration status is Lawful Permanent Resident," according to the affidavit.

Jubair was in the US for two years before the FBI detected that he was participating in terrorist activities. The FBI began investigating him in 2009 "after receiving information that Jubair may be associated with LeT."

The FBI said he created and uploaded a Lashkar-e-Taiba propaganda video on Sept. 25, 2010. To create the video, Jubair was in direct contact with Talha Saeed, the son of Lashkar-e-Taiba leader Hafiz Saeed.

The propaganda video included images of Lashkar-e-Taiba leader Hafiz Seed preaching and being arrested by Pakistani police, images of Muslims being killed by Pakistani and Middle Eastern troops, prisoners and their jailers at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, Pakistani weapons systems, and video clips of US armored vehicles being blown up in roadside bomb attacks in Iraq. A "prayer" given by Hafiz Saeed that repeatedly invokes jihad and praises the "mujahideen" is played in the background.

Talha gave Zubair editing instructions and guidance on where he could find images and clips of the items he wanted in the video. Talha was also careful not to have Lashkar-e-Taiba explicitly mentioned, or connected with the November 2008 terror assault in Mumbai.

"Talha asked Jubair to include pictures of Hafiz Saeed when Hafiz was being arrested and placed under house arrest," the FBI said. "As the conversation continued Talha described types of photos to be used in the video."

"Jubair asked if he should post the Mumbai one and added they want to show their power... Talha told Jubair not to use anything referencing Mumbai but said Jubair could reference Palestine and operating of Mujahideen in Kashmir."

In October, Talha instructed Jubair to remove all references to Lashkar-e-Taiba. Jubair uploaded the final version of the video to YouTube on Oct. 16, 2010, the affidavit stated.

Although the YouTube account was redacted in the report, The Long War Journal has learned that the account Jubair used is AbuDujjana.

Jubair deleted the video from his YouTube account after receiving a visit from the FBI late last month (The Long War Journal, 2011).

Title:
UK Extremely Worried About Stolen Nukes
Date:
November 25, 2011
Source:
Press TV
Abstract: Is the UK frantically trying to find out where they were sold on the “Black Market”?

We know something that you don't…… but can't talk about it Under the Nuclear Explosions Act otherwise we will all end up in gaol for life.

Chris McGreal of the Guardian newspaper published an article 24th of May 2010 revealing how Israel offered to sell nukes to South Africa during the apartheid era. What he failed to reveal was that Israel struck up a deal with South Africa to move its technicians down to the high-security weapons research and development facilities at Pelindaba.

It was at this location that the Israeli technicians managed to covertly give themselves nuclear weapons but also under the table gave South Africa its own nuclear capability but guess what?.......the US and UK knew all about the programme but the UN did not!!!.......what was even more amazing was the fact that the UN sent a team to South Africa where they were convinced that South Africa had curtailed its nuclear weapons programme when in actual fact it had not!!

It is fairly obvious why Israel is totally consumed in trying to find these stolen weapon and needless to say the US and British Governments are equally as concerned and yet are not in a position to admit to their loss as in doing so would incriminate past and current very senior politicians including our current Prime Minister David Cameron.

It always appear to be the case that your past always comes back to haunt you. So let's just recall the history behind these weapons that were designed and commissioned all during the UN embargo years and who was allegedly involved.

I must also make it quite clear that many of the world leaders and senior members of government have been involved in these under the table deals which has resulted in many of them accumulating much wealth either for the party election funds or for their own personal gain. When one further considers that these faceless individuals not only govern out country but are also directly responsible for the death of millions of people both military staff and civilians it is extremely hard to understand.

How can any government have such a flawed intelligence network and allow such things to take place without some sort of audit to see what is going on behind the scenes. We have seen both the US, UK, EU and Israel transfer almost everything from chemical and biological weapons to nuclear part to countries which they have since called the “Axis of Evil.”...........that statement is not totally true because the "Axis of Evil" is right here in the heart of London!!

It was in the late 1970 when the South African nuclear programme started to go into full swing with the compliments of the Israeli scientists resulting in the first test and only test firing of a nuclear weapon. The test took place on a moored vessel anchored off Prince Edward Island on the 22nd of September 1979 when a typical double flash was observed from a passing US satellite.

One has to understand that this was all under the radar of the United Nations with the full knowledge of selected members of the US and British Governments. The US immediately went on the defensive by creating their “False Flag” report known as the “Vela Incident” in which they explained the following:

The conclusions of the Presidential panel (the Ad Hoc Panel) were reassuring, as they suggested that the most likely explanation of the Vela detection was a meteoroid hitting the satellite - in part because of the discrepancy in bhangmeter readings Others who examined the data, including the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), the national laboratories, and defense contractors reached a very different conclusion - that the data supported the conclusion that on 22 September 1979, Vela 6911 had detected a nuclear detonation.

What I find ironic here is the fact that several agencies confirmed it was a nuclear explosion but the US Government conveniently put it to bed. I can assure you that through my own scientific contacts in the US this did actually happen and an internal memo at the Los Alamos nuclear research facility confirmed that it had been a nuclear explosion. One has to understand the high stakes involved in such programmes, especially when vast sums of money are being banded around senior political figures. This is truly corruption at its best!

The joint venture (Israel - South Africa) created 10 Battlefield Bombs and after the first test that left nine. The bombs were designed to be highly mobile and reasonably compact and could be carried by the British Canberra bomber or the Buccaneer.

It became apparent in later years that the supremacy of white power in South Africa was about to finish and so they had to open up discussion with the Americans and British as they feared these weapons getting into the hands of the blacks. It was during this time that a decision was made to ship all nine bombs to Chicago for de commissioning. However, our dear “Iron Lady” Maggie Thatcher decided that it would be a good idea to maybe acquire a few of the weapons for possible use against Iraq in the event Saddam did not toe the line.

Thatcher then ordered her Page Boy, David Cameron, to go down to South Africa along with what was believed to be the only technical man available (non other than the now( Sir) Kenneth Warren). Others also believed to be implicated was David Wilshire and many other senior members of government. In actual fact as we follow this charade up to the current time we could possible include other very senior person such as Lord McAlpine, Peter Lilley, Alan Clarke and Ken Clarke and others I have previously named in other articles. The late Dr. David Kelly was also involved.

We have to remember that this was almost a private sector deal with many political figures implicated some of whom became share holders in the illegal nuke purchase. We are talking here about an extremely high risk deal, with little security for the weapons themselves as everything had to be done in a low key covert way.

As we already know David Cameron was able to secure a deal for his lady mentor, Maggie Thatcher, and returned with a deal for three nuclear weapons. They were shipped to Oman whereby they were put in private sector storage and eventually stolen by John Bredenkamp, the arms dealer who sold them to Britain and then stole them back to sell on the Black market and the rest is now history.

We have to understand that British Tax Payers money was then placed in the Conservative Party Electoral Fund (£17.8m) which to this day has not been accounted for and other money was made available to Tony Blair (£1m) compliments of Bernie Ecclesone. On top of this a slush fund was also developed to silence other third parties that knew of the deal and our dear Mr. Ken Clarke then implemented his gagging orders to those involved!!

I guess you do not believe this story......why don't you check it out yourself it is written in Hansard 22nd June 1993, and starting at Col. 197 when Lord Doug Hoyle raised the issue in the House as follows:

“Mr Hoyle: If the hon. Gentleman will allow me, I shall tell him what information is now given to us. We understand the expenditure and what Tory central office receives. In 1992, central office received £20.7 million. When we asked about that and about company donations, the Tory party told us to look at company accounts. I repeat: in 1992, the Tories received £20.7 million. When the records were checked by Companies house, only £2.9 198million was shown in company accounts. That means that there is a deficit of £17.8 million. We want to know where that £17.8 million came from.

Mr Tim Smith: The hon. Gentleman has made the suggestion about the accounts of the Conservative party that was made by a member of the Select Committee last week: that no accounts had been published between 1979 and 1983. They were published, and I undertook to send copies to the Select Committee.

Mr Hoyle: I gave way to the hon. Gentleman because I expected him to tell me where the difference of £17.8 million came from. I shall give way again to him. I am told that he is a treasurer of the Conservative party. I give way to him now so that he can stand up and tell us where the £17.8 million came from. Does the hon. Gentleman care to do that? I am waiting. I do not think that we shall get the information from the horse's mouth. We certainly did not get it from the Secretary of State.”

I could write article after article on the many levels of corruption that occurred in both the US and the UK (not forgetting Israel) and the terrible consequences of this greed resulting in the death of many of our own troops and innocent civilians….all for their own pocket. Solid evidence proves that over the period of 1982-90 Iraq was supplied by the US and UK with WMD, including biological cultures and chemical precursors of nerve gases etc (Press TV, 2011).
